Why does everything have to be a conspiracy with some people? Threads literally and directly explains that it uses your Instagram account. They're the same account. Nothing crazy. No magic. No oogie boogie. Just the same account.

30 more...

Ah the beauty of TST... Laid a trap and some moron took the bait. I'm sure they had to do it because "persecution" or something like that.

The nerve of people to cry they were discriminated against for their views as if their views weren't the original discriminator... It's just mind boggling.

Oh... Oh No. Closing the entire browser to open a new tab. I don't blame you at all for not being able to watch.

We need high res beans

I feel almost helpless against it sometimes.

It's a well known issue on plenty of popular sites (Facebook/Twitter/reddit/etc.). I'm sure federated sites like Lemmy, Mastodon, and others are just as susceptible to it as well.

I've commented on posts in the past to try and combat it and occasionally still do. But there's a real limit to the amount of stress that comes with trying to convince someone that they've been lied to and could be misleading others by repeating what they heard. Especially with the whole "fake news" crap that has been surging I'm the last handful of years. Any proper data used to support truth is just dismissed as fake news.

Spitting truth

Spawn more beanssssss.

None of the data other than the user name is shown in Threads until the user from Instagram activates their account. I've tried to look up a number of the people from Instagram on Threads and if they haven't signed up, then the search results are zero.

I don't think I'm missing any point. Have you used it? They're owned by the same company. Threads is separate but part of Instagram. Other than the user name being reserved on Threads in case the Instagram user wants to sign up, there isn't an account created. If you try to search the name of any of those accounts in Threads it doesn't come up at all. (Edit: mistyped a word)
