I very quickly checked wikipedia, because I couldn't easily identify the extra one. It lists all 16 of the 10 commandments... The table looks like different branches of christianity bundle some of them together (mostly various coveting) or don't even consider the first and last a commandment, so they always only count to ten. So it's an easy mistake to make.

But the fact that they couldn't even count the paragraphs is riddiculous.

Bad title. Settings that actually do something are 0 (normal), 1 (compact) and 2 (touch). You can also do that in settings, I think.

Have you read the link? It doesn't say thay that analysing figerprints is less powerfull than was known, but more. It describes previously unknown connection between fingerprints of different fingers of a single person. This could indicate, for example, that two crimes were probably commited by the same person even when not a single identical fingerprint was found on both sites.

The reason for the 50 years of oil, as I heard it explained, is that this is how far ahead the oil companies plan. They look for enough oil to cover the timeframe they plan for. When they have that covered, they don't look, until they need more. When they need more, they go and find it.

There's probably quite a few people who couldn't play during the week. There were hudnreds of thousands copies sold in the last few days, not everyone could play right away. I got lucky and managed to squeeze maybe 10 hours in...

There also might be people who bought it from Steam, since the word got out it's better for Wube, but then went to factorio.com and got a copy unconnected from Steam. But yes, even before, there was a surprising number of people who didn't get any achievement ever.

Keywords don't need @. I'm using g for google, d for duckduckgo, mg for google maps etc.

I am by no means highly informed, but so far, I didn't see a few things I think should be mentioned.

Both Israel's government and Hamas are definitely bad guys who found stirring hate towards each other a convenient way of staying in power. After all, If you have the stongest rhetoric towards someone who wants to kill people of your country, of course those people will vote for you and you can get away with things you otherwise couldn't.

There's also another side which I haven't seen explicitly mentioned and should be considered: surrounding islamic countries (who are surely not a homogeneous group). They are in a good position to help palestinian civilians, but don't do very much for various reasons I know relatively little about.

I didn't read the original paper yet, perhaps it's there, but it isn't in the linked article nor its source Ars Technica article. Can authors themselves upload their papers to these archives, and if so, how to do it correctly to make it findable both by DOI and other means? Does anyone know?

Beautiful cat! Thanks. Is there any particular reason to think it's a chimera? If it's a female, it's more likely to be X chromosome inactivation.

Well, it wouldn't be good evidence on its own at court, but can very well nudge an investigation in a right direction. And anyway, it's a first step, done with little resources and ablimited dataset for training. And at least for me, it'sbthe first time I hear something like this is possible at all. Others said that tools to the same effect were around for quite a while, but I haven't seen anyone providing sources, especially some that would give quantification of its capabilites.

I would like just to thank you for writing to title that it's US-specific. I mean, it was clear by the time I finished the title, but that's not always the case and I was really glad that you put it there.

If you want to be able to write practically anything on mobile, including ≠, ≈, ‰, ℝ etc., have a look at Unexpected keyboard. No spellcheck or autocomplete, though.

I'm fairly sure that this post is a prelude to an introduction of Bacchus (or whatever it's called now), the jungle planet teaming with life and therefore enemies. And I also expect introduction of Vulcanus' natives.

They will probably be quite a lot cheaper and certainly available much earlier. The new inserter will be available on another planet.

So if I hear you right, the guy has a working protocol for cloning a highly-endngered species developed and working in, I presume, moderately well-funded lab at best? That sounds somewhat interesting for conservationist efforts.

To get an extra boost from the homepage sorting algorithm. More people will get a recommendation, of a newly released game is selling well.

Thanks for this, those are some incredible designs!

Compared to what else is happening in the world, other than its weirdness and entertainment value, the whole affair seems to me to be of very little consequence. Someone messed with a few individual endangered animals in a failed attempt to provide a niche entertainment. So what. If it helps save an entire species, it seems like the more important bit of the whole story to me. Although I can definitely see your point. I should probably note I didn't take the time to read the article, so it is entirely possible I missed some awful bits or some such.

I agree with the other reply that pdfs are terrible for e-readers. That being said, Pocketbooks can open them (which is not that common) and it is possible to read them, although it isn't so comfortable, especially for A4 pdfs. It can also open wide range of other formats and I'm quite happy with it in general. You can connect it to a computer and simply copy your books there, among other means of getting books there. But I have to say I have no first hand experience with competition.

Great work!

I'll try putting some science on the belt.

I use Pocketbook. It opens just about anything - epub, mobi, pdf, pdb, and many more formats. Just get a book anywhere and copy it via USB. Or send it as an email attachment to your special address and it will download automatically. You can even replace the reading app with another relatively easily, if you want.

Even in legendary quality, it does 25 damage compared to 30 now. I'm sure you can still be a formidable killing machine, but quite late, and not on Nauvis alone. I'm going to miss being safe and unstoppable. But I trust the devs to make a fun game, they were incredibly successful in this so far.

Frankly? Yes, a bit. I wouldn't have expected Tesla to make it that high and I would expect Google somewhere near the top. And I guess it focused only on american companies, or I would be much more surprised.

I had some time, so I tried to claim the area. Thanks for the help, I would never finish it on my own. Let's hope someone else joins us :-)

You don't need profit in the sense of making lots of extra money compared to how much money you actually put in. I would be very interested in how much net profit is compared to gross in relative numbers. It's a lot in absolute numbers, but I suspect not so much in relative. The problem why drug development is so very expensive is that you don't just pay large sums for the drugs that are developed, but also for all those that are not, because they prove not useful during the testing. And there is way, way more than the successful ones, perhaps 100 to 1? I don't have numers at hand. So in the end, you have to charge a lot of extra money above the production cost if you want to have enough money to develop any drugs at all.

Of course, that isn't true for old drugs. Which is a reason why generics are so much cheaper. And also why patents need to exist.

I'm sure pharma companies abuse the system as much as they can, but not as much as it might appear at a first glance.

Wow, thank you, this is a great source! So less than 90% of the income is used to run the companies and do all the R&D. Honestly, that's less than I thought and shows how greedy they are. If I read it right, they are more profitable than other large companies. Wow. So a state-owned non-profit pharma company could in theory produce new medicine 10 % cheaper and still be fine. Provided that state-owned company could be as efficient as a private one...

The time when you get power armor. I usually rush mk2 and skip mk1, but still, around that time. At that time, you definitely don't have a spidertron. Spidertron is definitely late game. Of course, at that time, spidertron is the weapon of choice.

Then I suggest that you don't look at achievements.

It might also be dangerous to browse research tree, but it isn't based on anything specific, as I didn't do so myself. Yet.

I know. And I'm sure there will be more weapons. I'm just a little worried about what is currently late midgame situation on Nauvis, especially during expnsion. Just when you get your your power armor and finally can clean up nests with relative ease. I'm not especially fond of combat, especially in person, so I really like finally being quite safe. I guess I'll have to change tactics and use combat robots much more.

Not as far s I know. Motivating people to go into debt often is not a common policy. At least not in Europe, but I think it's very unusual worldwide.

Not quite what you want, but Privacy redirect can at least send you to Teddit or Libreddit instead.

And can I turn this off?

Possibly poor wording, not a native speaker here. I apologise if I offended you. I would really appreciate if you could point out particular points which you find "outrageous and despicable".

You should be able to keep using the filters just with an adblock. Add a custom filter site and you're done.

https://www.ghacks.net/2023/04/20/mozilla-removes-bypass-paywalls-clean-extension-from-its-add-repository/

This is the site wit filters to add:

Hmm, it seems you're right. I have the filters, but it says they haven't been updated for 44 days. I can send them to anyone interested to be added manually. Anyway, there is about half as many as in your link, so it's likely mine would be redundant.

This seems like a great source, thanks a lot for posting it.

Well sure, but the differences between species are not necessarily negligible, so a tested protocol is definitely valuable. Should someone have a good idea and funding for how to use it, of course.
