Hentai is the only ethical form of porn consumption

Mine truncated the first 8 characters, when I discovered that I sent them a request to their cyber security department and they told me.of was by design.

I closed my account over that bs

Some are legit, some are scams.

As a rule of thumb, of it is featured in isthereanydeal.com , then they're safe

My manager got a promotion with a hefty salary increase, then the company announced a hiring and salary freeze, then gave me a promotion with more responsibilities (some of my manager's as well) but with the same salary.

I quited a few months later as soon as I could secure something else

I'm saving this phrase.

I had a PM postpone a critical part of a project since June, the hard deadline is on September 15th... I've insisted to start with it months ago and now he's scrambling everyone to get this done yesterday.

We're not gonna make it and I don't care anymore.

NZ is usually used as a Guinea pig by tech companies, small population, English speaking, etc.

However I think it might be that the Alll Blacks might face off the Springboks in the Rugby World Cup Final and Elon wants to minimise the shitposting on Twitter. /s

My current employer had a relatively small layoffs round (about 3% of the workforce). More people resigned afterwards than during the layoffs.

almost everyone I know that uses reddit just switched to the official app if they weren't using it already. Whether we want it or not a lot of normies started using reddit in the past few years and they just don't care.

My sister shared me an Instagram reel for a [brand] bag review and asked me to buy it for her (there's no [brand store] in her city).

It was such an obvious advertising campaign by the brand, when I walked into the store the same reel she shared me was playing in the store screens

I had to replace the USB C port on my Fairphone 3, took about €30 and 10 minutes.

In any other phone it would've meant getting a complete new device

Wholeheartedly agree. My previous employer was very big into pride and DEI since at least 10 years ago, when it wasn't as normaliaed as it is today.

However, the office wasn't wheelchair accessible and I complained about it, took me more than 4 years to get them to do something about it because I'm not a wheelchair user, so my requests got denied every time, absolutely zero empathy despite what they used to promote.

As you said, Pride is free marketing, building a ramp costs money

I bought a laptop that came with a broken charger, I could easily test it myself as a friend also had an HP laptop with the same brick (this was before the days of USB C).

I tried to make a warranty claim and they wanted me to send the laptop too and wipe the HDD, the RMA process would take weeks on top of that.

I ended up buying a 3rd party charger, I'm sure their RMA process is overly long and convoluted to deter people from making warranty claims

My previous job referred to ex employees as traitors or betrayers

A friend works for a large-ish company that makes a product on Unity (not a game tho) and he just told me they were moving to Godot ASAP

no worries mate, idk why my comment was missing some words, spaces and letters

After the revival they just re-released the Batman games, announced a sequel to The Wolf Among Us and then nothing for 4 years? It is sad to see Telltale gone, but at the same time I am not surprised.

yes, and according to the article, OpenOffice was already abandoned for 4 years ago by then

the official app works great on Android

I recently used IRC to download some obscure early 2000s anime from a major fansub group from back in the day. Turns out they are still hosting an IRC server with a bot serving their entire fansub archive.

Writing XDCC commands brought back some memories

I use glow all the time, I love it!

I've been playing with wish too, I see a lot of potential for it

Drink wine! unbeknownst to many, Austrian wine is quite good!

nerv.app

https://unnerv.jp/@UN_NERV

It is an unofficial app, albeit a very popular one

I canceled my subscription due to the price increase. I recall it being about $10 or $12 / yr back in 2019. Right now is just too expensive

I use Codium on both PopOS and MacOSi, it's a bit slow to start, but performance is good, but I don't know how it compares to stock VSCode since I never tested it. But overall I'm very happy with it.

IHateMoney.org is a nice self hosted FOSS option, joining groups and organising users is dead easy, but the iOS app sucks.

I personally prefer SettleUp despite it being closed source, I find its functionality a lot better than Splitwise

Also, the last mile issue is very real and needs to be solved.

You can do a lot more with a rice cooker. Soup, pasta, sauces, even steam vegetables if you put a tray on it.

My sister's job just switched to LibreOffice in 2018, OO is still alive and kicking in a lot of small companies

+1 for UGREEN. My workplace uses them for everything, I've used many of their products over the years and they work great.

Anker is a great brand for anything power related (chargers, cables, batteries, etc). Everything else, not so much

Linux user since 2008 here.

Boring Debian for servers and Pop Os for my desktop because everything works out of the box

and it works on Mac and Windows too !

There are plenty of alternatives to the NUC. MinisForum, StarLabs and System76 out of the top of my head

VHS won over Betamax. This one was over porn despite Beta being technically superior.

DVD won over VCD. This one was over copy protection since VCD were trivial to decrypt and copy at the time.

I used to play a lot of Warsaw and never heard of the fork. I'll Check it out later tonight, thanks!

I have two MinisForum miniPCs and I absolutely love them, I've had them on for months at the time without any issues. Before I got them I was looking into the Intel NUCs and they were way too expensive for the specs. Sure, their top of the line NUCs are absolute beasts in a tiny form factor, but their basic entry level stuff is for burning money

I dug a bit into it and there's obvious astroturfing going on by the creator. There's some crypto bullshit attached to it.

they do, my sister just bought one

The original Moto G did this as well, then I replaced it with the latest G5 which did not and learn that the hard way
