I'm donating $5, not much but I love to see companies like Unity burn.

How is the economy booming when Arizona Iced Tea is $1.29?

I think its because we aren't allowed by default to post images, which I completely understand after what happened back a couple months ago. I've been using Lemmy for more then 4 months actively but yet I still don't have permission to post pictures because of the fact that I'm too lazy to even try to get it enabled. This is a major reason why we aren't seeing a lot of content.

Also, this tends to be mostly a leftist leaning app, so maybe some people get drawn away.

Let's peel it open and find out

I just got charged $165 a couple days ago from two yearly subscriptions I totally forgot I had. We need a better solution. The banks should just implement the usage of Virtual Cards like Privacy.com does. It'd be so much more convent for people to cancel subscriptions, if they're allowed to have multiple different virtual cards that they can easily toggle on or off.

Why don't the banks do this?

This is my father. We have about 10 ring cameras surrounding the house and I fucking hate it. Meanwhile, I'm also a distributor for security cameras and could easily replace all of them for free. He still insists no. He likes that he can easily prey on me when I go outside for 1-2 seconds to grab a drink or go outside for a smoke.

I already hate feeling watched but the need for audio is just ridiculous. Law enforcement can basically just intercept the feeds and listen/watch you anytime they want to. The FBI abused a spy tool 280,000 times this year, so I doubt they'll respect your rights, if you even have any at this point.

I wish I grew up during the days without cameras being on every single building.

I feel the same way sometimes. I'm a centrist as well, a lot of the people on both sidee in this platform do have extreme takes and have the "You must agree with me or I will ban you" attitude. I wish it was a bit more diverse, whenever I come on Lemmy it is completely saturated with leftists post. I have nothing against people on the left, its just the fact that content is so obviously saturated with it.

One of the hillbillies I know have a fully automatic M14 with a 20 round magazine from the Korean War. It was a pleasure to fire that thing.

My old boss who lost over 100lbs, once said this to me:

I asked him: "What did you eat to lose all that weight?"

He said: "Everyone knows how to lose weight, you know exactly what you're doing to yourself."

Man, I love Lenny.

This would be against the 4th amendment. We don't need law enforcement peeking into our yards.

Based.

Dude, how do you even get out of this? That's really shitty man.

Rode Iland

This would be the funniest movie if someone actually made it.

Just use Invidious.

Huh?

But we're not gay

Why Ubuntu? Just use Debian.

Big mama!

Why are a majority of Linux users gay/trans?

In an online world filled with a plethora of mods, from artistic to bizarre, it's intriguing that the focus narrows down so sharply on one. The concept of a 'dumb meme mod' being powerful enough to tarnish the reputation of an entire platform is a strong statement about the perceived fragility of said platform. Also, the idea that users need to be 'shielded' from something they can just scroll past underscores a lack of trust in the user community to make their own informed choices. Surely, the platform can weather the storm of a singular, controversial mod without undermining its integrity.

I don't use Telegram but they don't enable encryption by default? Last time I used Telegram I needed a phone number still, so, I'd say Signal has always been on top.

Just installed the nvidia-driver for my 2080 SUPER and my system isn't starting now. I'm using Debian 12.1 and after installing the driver, it crashes after entering in my password for my encrypted drive.

I will load up a Live USB and see if I can fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Maybe this is just me but I used to LOVE fast food, my fat ass would DoorDash Dairy Queen almost everyday during the pandemic. Ended up gaining 50lbs after I had just reached my goal for losing 100lbs-120lbs. I'm 210 now but I miss being around 170. (used to be 300 a couple years ago)

I can say now that I don't eat fast food or Doordash anymore mostly because I feel like I'm eating micro plastic fake meat (may not be entirely true but maybe you know what I mean)

I never felt the same buzz after my first cigarette, it felt like I was fucking drunk after my first smoke lol.

After that I was basically just chasing the dragon, I was smoking about 15-30 cigarettes a day for about 1-2 years. Never again.

Linux is shit

I use GNU/Hurd btw

It will help.

Field technicians.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I agree that Nexus, as a private platform, has the prerogative to decide what content to host. The focus of my original post was not on the content itself, but on the criteria for moderation. If you'd like to engage further, please post your comment on the original discussion for a more centralized dialogue.

Basically one of the only reasons I played Bethesda games LMAO

Don't they store your data?

Actually, KVM and Ansible are a big part of the industry. KVM as a hypervisor is widely acknowledged in enterprise environments. Meanwhile, Ansible provides great automation for system management tasks. Their combined use for virtualization management and provisioning is not just common but a best practice, backed by a plethora of successful deployments across various industries.

While it's true the platform has the right to refuse hosting certain content, the point at issue is whether that decision should be made on subjective opinions like 'dumb trash,' or if a more balanced approach should be taken. We're discussing the principles of platform moderation, not just the convenience of downloading a mod elsewhere.

Why pay for Spotify or YouTube music if you can just use alternatives like ViMusic?

The purpose of centralizing the discussion is to understand various perspectives on platform moderation. While you may see the issue as settled, other individuals may have questions or viewpoints they'd like to explore. Declining to engage in debate doesn't nullify the merit of the discussion for others who are genuinely interested in dissecting the subject matter.

Leave now. I was using Windows for years until I finally made the full switch to Linux last year. I dropped iPhone too as well for GrapheneOS. I may honestly just keep an emergency phone on me and store it in a Faraday bag, I don't see a point of carrying around a tracking device.

Use Signal Desktop and have your co workers/family call you there and/or use email. On my resume I heavily point out that I highly depend on Linux and avoid Windows. Its up to them if it will be compatible with the line of work such as becoming a Help Desk in IT. Obviously, if you need to use Windows at work, only use it on your work PC. Eventually I'll become a Linux System Admin so that'll help out. I'm so much happier too as I stopped using social media like Instagram, Snapchat, etc. You don't need that proprietary garbage.

If you want to go extreme buy an X60 and flash Libreboot on it. Also, check out the LibreCMC R1400 router by ThinkPenguin. Achieve that Richard Stallman level freedom.

Make the switch, you won't regret it.
