Linkin Park + Shitty last name + I think the number was random 20+ years ago

Add Bird-in-Hand and Blue Ball, PA to that list.

Had to cut out both my parents and sibling due to their homophobic remarks and my coming to terms with being gay. The politics just furthered the gap, and the last time I spoke with them in early 2023, "It's all about that woke generation" came out of my dad's mouth and that was the end. I don't expect to hear about their passing, and I'm not sure I'll care, despite them seemingly raising me to be a decent person. These are two humans who canvassed for Obama in '08 & '12, so it was sad to see them devolve.

Braid was a solid game all its own, and a remaster certainly wasn't needed (yet or at all). The Witness was freaking phenomenal, and I hope there will be other iterations of games like it to come. Blow can go blow away though. He's an anti-vaxxer and Covid conspiracy theorist, and that is something I can write off as anyone worth acknowledging. Plenty of other amazing games in the sea.

He was already on leave following an incident in December, 2023 when he was arrested after crashing his car while possessing 20 unprescribed Xanax pills.

Sounds like he was outright delusional, and it very much feels like these two events are joined at the hip.

It's may be more subtle and perhaps the quality is still there (IDK bc I unsubbed ages ago), but Babish. There was an uproar when he got sponsored by Hogwarts Legacy, and he had no response / apology to supporting JK and her anti-trans viewpoints.

While I still "subscribe" to Humble, I don't recall the last time I actually unpaused a month. Maybe this is the push I needed. Their offerings have been mostly subpar after they bought Humble. Not knocking the indie devs, I think my gaming tastes have changes over the years. Also, I don't need coupons for DLC, please and thank you.

The amount of Roku stuff my PiHole blocks is asinine. I just recently added a blocklist for smart TVs and it ballooned the query counts like mad.

+1 for PiHole. Worth the ~$40 for the Pi Zero W and accessories alone.

There was already an HD remaster released back in 2011... I'm all for crisper graphics, bugfixes and the like, as long as the core gameplay and charm from the beloved original is still there. Still also holding out for BG&E2, but that feels as close to vaporware as it stands.

Also, fuck Ubisoft and their craptastic launcher. Main reason I have strayed from majority of their titles. Maybe it's a little pedantic, but I'm in the "Steam or no DRM" group if I bother with a game.

I've been using Shut Up 10 by O&O Software for ages now. Turns off all recommended telemetry and you can go a step further and disable a ton of stuff, basically anything irksome that M$ pulls.

It's free as well. I haven't noted any negative issues with it. Also works on Win 11

I drive past this school ever so often, and while I know this can happen at any school, it always hits harder knowing there are asshole kids everywhere. Regardless of true intent, this shit destroys teachers' livelihoods. While Malvern is a richer area by far (edge of the PA Main Line old money), that doesn't excuse the behavior, even though there will be money thrown around to silence mouths.

The BS at the end of the article about these kids making the videos private so teachers can't find them just enrages me more. Like, you little shits haven't learned you lesson?

I've dabbled in listening to EDM more frequently, and when I heard Chasing Heaven by him, I ran up to my roommates who proceeded to open that can of worms... never heard of the guy before that, and won't listen to him again. Sick fuck on so many levels. The CP is a new one from what I knew then.

Been pretty happy with my month old Radeon RX 7800XT. 16GB VRAM, holds its own in Starfield and Cyberpunk (ooh the raytracing...), and haven't had any issues with it.

Looks to be around £550 there.

Happiness has to be fought for.

I looked through most the comments and didn't see it, but Gris. Beautiful pastel color palette and a mount story about finding oneself / gaining your voice back. Very existential but in a passive way. I'd like to think of it as a Metroidvania, as you have powers to gain that open up new areas, but there's little to no actual fighting.

If you aren't already aware, check out Tale of Two Wastelands. Merges the Capital Wasteland of FO3 and the Mojave of FNV into one, keeping all the good bits Obsidian introduced with FNV.

Dunno if it's MP compatible yet, but the newly released Day One mod attempts to simulate the first day of the Knox Event. Tons of NPCs (using a new engine instead of the built in AI), bombs dropping, different factions, etc. Crazy experience thus far, and you'll probably die faster if you're not careful.

Still can't wait for build 42 tho.

It was definitely tough dropping him over something seemingly so miniscule, but it hit a nerve. Being part of the queer community myself, and having many close friends also being such, it just felt right. The salt in the wound was that there was no response at all except for the ones supporting him in this sponsoring.

A quick google for "Babish Hogwarts Legacy" garnered this Reddit post (sorry).

Chevron with Techron

Wu-Tang Dan

Spaghetti Joe

Emma 2: The Awakening

Shamelessly copied from the wonderful Obvious Plant.

While it was extremely limited due to the tech at the time, I truly enjoyed this and SimCopter for the ability to drive/fly around your created cities. Would love to have seen some semblance of physics included. I just recall any cars you drove up/down hills just conformed to the terrain. Was still extremely fun.

I'm heavily modding Skyrim VR currently and now that .esl support was back ported, I'm hovering around 400 mods. It's joyous, and I'm afraid how much I may break at the same time. Nexus Collections are helping as well. Maybe I'll test MO2 one of these days.

I have never completed or even come close to finishing the game. And I was a day one 11/11/11 purchase lol.

You should check out the Brutal Doom add-on for Chex Quest. Just be wary as the Doom modding rabbit hole runs deep.

I'll have the check out the HD version, looks pretty cool so far!

Not sure how or if it's mess up current saves or not, but if you've not considered it yet, is would recommend trying it A Tale Of Two Wastelands. Merges FO3's Capital Wasteland with FNV's Mojave via train ride. Keeps all the mechanics as well.

Oh I figured it would be good. I loved HP growing up, well before we knew any of JK's purviews and hatreds. It also does help that majority of the actors involved in the cinematic universe were outspoken against her. It's rather difficult to separate art from the artist at times, but I think I'll probably sail the seas first to test it out, and then determine how best to purchase it without giving her any more cashflow, however meager that is in the grand scheme.

Found a reasonable article of who distanced / defended Joanne's hatred: https://www.pedestrian.tv/entertainment/every-harry-potter-actor-supports-jk-rowling/

Cyberpunk minus Phantom Liberty, been too long since I've played properly.

Skyrim VR with all the fixins, maxed the esp limit, no esl support 😞

I'd hold off playing more then. Juicehead and others have a pretty hefty update on what the future holds for the Phantom Liberty update and revamp of core systems. Sounds like they'll be bringing in a more living world akin to how people were expecting it to operate a la GTA.

I get your perspective, and I think we are both trying to at least meet in the middle with how we are trying to explain our takes. By all means, I truly do think that minority groups should have more support and have the right to be heard and seen than the "societal norm". I guess I was just trying to see both sides and trying to determine a midpoint. The "All Lives Matter" movement easily falls in line with many other conservative spiels, and I'm trying to see the best in people in that what they mean isn't trying to side with the heavier right wing movements. Again, I'm not trying to belittle or minimize the trans rights movement or anything in which minority groups aren't being heard. I guess I just wish we lived in a society where everyone was treated as equal, and any hate groups were quieted to the best of our ability, slowly erasing those archaic viewpoints.

You're on the right path with that. Sometimes people with these mindsets just need to be spoken to, and that may (on may not) open their eyes to the ways they may have been inadvertently steeped in, whether that be from upbringing in a hatred filled household / community / etc., or a search for acceptance in those circles. I have someone at my workplace who is an outspoken anti-LGBTQ+, even going as far as plastering their laptop with heavily right wing anecdotes, and wearing very questionable shirts with horrible messages. But I'm here to eventually try and reason with them, and you're absolutely right it'll be an uphill battle, but one worth trying.

My roommate is heavily holding out her next playthrough until 1.6 drops. Here's hoping Stardew Valley Very Expanded gets updated soon after.

Fantastic, you're hired!

Just bought way too much stuff over the Steam sale.

  • American Truck Simulator. Finally bought the newest map DLC for it (Texas, Oklahoma), and installed quite a few truck/car/map mods for it. Fun to just... drive. Deliveries can be quite challenging. Also dip into ETS2 ever so often. Road style and architecture is quite a nice change of pace. Play primarily in VR with full lowkey sim-rig.
  • Project Zomboid. Too good and too many mods. Fun to just see how long I can roam around in an RV or Jaap Nomad :P
  • Dying Light. Played the hell out of this pirated last year, finally bought it with all the extra DLC. Worth it.
  • Noita. Got back into watching FuryForged and his insane playthroughs. Can't decide it it's more fun to watch or play.
  • Dead Cells. Haven't dipped my toes into Soulsborne style gaming much, as I rather like a more relaxed "I'm in danger but not always gonna die", but the difficulty here is nice. The art style really drew me in too.
  • Control. Stuck at the Benicoff TV / Salvador battle, but overall really enjoying it. Downside is I'm having to play the pirated version due to 505's screw-up with the "Ultimate Edition" fuckup with Humble.
  • Voidigo. Fun & very colorful roguelite twitch shooter. Animations wonderful and all characters are top notch, weapon variety is vast.

I just switched from Chrome to Brave, and then shortly after from Brave to Vivaldi. Search engine is now Startpage.com, which while slower than Google, it's been bringing up decent results. Unfortunately I still use quite a few Google-centric apps, so hopefully I'm able to discover more options as time goes on.

I just recently picked up an Arizer XQ2 and it's amazing, but tried for day to day use. A friend of mine gifted me a KarmaVap (Dynavap M 2020), and it's been my daily driver next to a revisit of my older and solid Xmax Starry v3. Whichever way I go I get done nice returns as ABV, so my next edible may be gummies.

Ever so often I use a water pipe but it's iffy as I'm not a fan of "wasting" bud.

Don't Get in the kiln

I'm getting strong Mega Man X vibes from this.

Oh, if that was considered a lot. Was just reading comments the other day of someone with 5000+

This is what happens when one mod has patches for other mods... I'm looking at Jk's Skyrim. I think it makes up 100+ esps on its own with all the compatibility patches.

I did the most half-assed version of this for lunch the other day. Leftover half box of Kraft Mac, a can of tuna that was in the fridge, and a little tangy BBQ sauce, I think McD's brand. It was... passable. I think my stomach was okay with it. I'm still alive and not on the toilet.

Same with the VR version. While I could've made it easy in myself and used a Wabbajack modlist, instead I have a monstrosity of 1100 mods that seems to work for the most part. Only one CTD in 10 hours lol. Still my favorite VR game overall.
