A completely understandable and logical step. It's simpler for a member to log into another instance if they want to keep interacting with lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works than to deal with the constant violations. I for one appreciate you guys keeping this a friendly community... sometimes it's nice to take a break from toxic content!

I had a lot of hope in the lead-up to the initial 2 day blackout, but after seeing literally zero coverage about this across other media platforms I now know there will be no backpedaling on the API changes. The best we can hope for is affecting their income from ads a tiny bit.

I would rather see my taxes go to feed every single kid in this country, poor or rich, than see another cent go into our absurdly bloated military budget, militarization of our police forces, and tax cuts for the rich. THAT is why everyone here is missing the fine print. You don't need to read between the lines to see that haggling down what little the working class has is an exercise in cruelty. It's ridiculous to penny-pinch social safety nets. Period.

I basically only ever use my instant pot if I'm 1) cooking a lot of something at once or 2) the weather is too hot for cooking on the stove/oven. Poor thing's collecting dust waiting for a day when I'll finally want 6 quarts of chicken noodle soup lol

If you have good skin already, do the least possible. Wear sun screen and hats to prevent sun damage, and gently cleanse/ moisturize at night. You don’t need a whole ass routine unless you have problem skin (acne, dark spots, etc). The less you mess with your natural biome, the happier your skin will be.
