It always was political, avoiding politics is a position of privilege

Sex education or people and communities that aren't ashamed of their sexuality

The new form of copaganda

It says you can contact the moderators if you have any questions right at the bottom.

The iOS Files app only lets you access a tiny part of the OS so you don't accidentally install a non-Apple approved app or god forbid, modify something on a device you own 🥴

As always, non-profit open-source software gets branded as "complex" for no reason. Mastodon's maintainer even made mastodon.social a default server so it takes absolutely 0 seconds to get started which was hated by the userbase for the centralization it causes, and it's still "complex"

Happy to see this. I've been avoiding .ml anyway, this makes my job easier. Fuck the Lemmy devs.

Objectively? You're just used to them. I like the extra screen real estate and they're much easier on my hands

I think boosts have potential to be used for crossposts, and the current implementation are just crossposts to your profile. Though they're likely here right now just because Kbin is a mix between thread and microblog software

I think it's more likely they just disliked the fact most Kbin users don't support genocide, while Lemmy has a history of that. The Stalinist side of Lemmy, moderated and endorsed by the developers, has made fun of Kbin.social before

Outliers in humanity? Fuck off

They are connected (you can boost/retweet Lemmy posts from Mastodon) but use a different API for apps, so they won't all support it. Kbin supports interacting with both Lemmy and Mastodon, but it's a different platform so you're going to have to create a new account

They were swapped before, and were recently changed to this for Lemmy compatibility, but things like the algorithm and reputation counting haven't been updated yet.

If you dislike the UI, you can turn on an MS Office-like ribbon design in the settings

Eat rich shits lol

Anarchism<3

What does Netflix even do beyond gatekeeping? I'm sure there are better ways to discover movies and TV shows

Kill capitalists lol

Try adjusting them on openstreetmap.org/edit, takes a few minutes at most

I really like how Kbin opens links as a little web app. That's such a killer feature for a link aggregator, would be a valid reason to switch away from Reddit in and of itself

You don't have to click on ads to give them money, impressions still count. You can use uBlock Origin, but they'll probably still make money from the traffic as they show off their number of visits to advertisers

Shows up fine on Kbin

The problem here isn't easiness but the low frequencies and bad positioning of transit in your area

Profits don't matter under capitalism, it's only stock money. Trying to profit is a death sentence in the tech space, as we're all seeing right now. This system doesn't work for the 21st century

Do weird names really matter? People stop paying attention to them and accept them with enough time. "Reddit" is just a funny mispelling

I use Tutanota's clients, and enjoy it. Haven't had any issues, was a great replacement to the unencrypted privacy-invasive Gmail and Google Calendar, sorting to folders has been even more convenient

It's great. Number go up mentality is dead, none of Twitter's features used for toxicity are integrated, actual communities are formed

Most clients seed while streaming

"These are the things you can do to alleviate climate change" That's still negative. It's blaming climate change on people instead of corporations and governments, a trend started by bp

Haven't had any issues with GrapheneOS on Pixel

I think it depends on the region (and possibly type of device?)

Huh? OpenStreetMap is pretty bad in the US compared to Europe, where it's far more detailed than Google Maps will ever be

Actually, Lemmy already does crossposts, Kbin doesn't. This user just crossposted their post, and interestingly, they just show up as separate posts to us. I'd think Lemmy would use the protocol's boost feature, but maybe there's some limitation that prevents this

These are just Lenses or whatever, smaller search engines had them for ages. I'm still waiting for DuckDuckGo to add them, strange that even Google was faster than them

Boost when you want a post to be on your profile

That just sounds like ableism
