Someone mentioned this and it always stuck with me - never trust someone who makes failure collective ("we dug our grave”), but success individual.

I wrote this in another comment, but Tesla has been known for a long time to game EPA numbers. Here's an article from 2020 talking about it: https://insideevs.com/news/407807/eletric-car-real-world-range-tested/

Several get below their EPA numbers, but several cars also get higher. Tesla models all get significantly below their claimed mileage.

He died because he didn't listen to his doctor's advice. That is somewhat extreme.

Good on the faculty.

We can continue to see Israel's playbook here. Any criticism of their despicable actions (was genocide ever mentioned in the article?) gets converted to antisemitism.

I hope the protestors keep it up. Force the media outlets to say the word genocide. Don't let them ignore what's going on with the Palestinians.

The billionaire hedge fund manager ... called the news website’s executive editor John Cook an anti-Zionist who targeted his wife for being Israeli.

There it is, this is what Israeli influence looks like. We have to root it out of America so we aren't beholden to a nation committing genocide.

The Israeli lobby, propaganda machine in heavy attack mode against these protests. They're scared. The protestors are making a big difference.

Stopping calling anti-genocide movements anti-semitism, unless you want to say that your religion requires genocide.

To give a little longer response, it is disheartening that the only response to that kind of genocide is a audible sigh. Maybe that was fine, but you have that murderer on national TV. Rake him through the coals.

Edit - Thinking more about this - if you had Goebbels on your show during WW2, what would you ask him?

It's not defending Hamas, it's refuting Israeli propaganda.

What, Elon Musk publishing a doctored video making extraordinary claims as a marketing tool? I can't imagine it.

[During the ceasefire, Israel released] 240 Palestinian women and children. The deal...raised questions about why so many children were being held in Israeli prisons. The reality is that the most common charge against children is throwing stones.

An estimated 10,000 Palestinian children have been held in military detention over the past 20 years, with Save the Children noting that they are “the only children in the world who are systematically prosecuted in military courts.” As of Nov. 20, Israeli forces had arrested as many as 880 Palestinian children this year, a practice made possible under Israel’s draconian military laws.

Israel is just sickening. Someone asked me why I consider Israel's actions as genocide. The treatment of an ethnic group's children is a key indicator. Israel and genocide Joe have to be stopped.

For people committing genocide, it's important to destroy the cultural fabric of their victims.

Since the Hamas-led October 7 attack, Israeli authorities have conducted a major crackdown on freedom of expression, usually in relation to social media posts. Dozens of Palestinian citizens of Israel and residents of Jerusalem have been arrested for voicing opposition to the war, while Israel’s academic institutions have suspended and dismissed students and faculty members alike for similar offenses. The Knesset also voted to amend Israel’s Counterterrorism Law, enabling unprecedented surveillance against Palestinians.

Jailing people for speaking out against the war? Sounds like Russia. I think Genocide Joe has backed the wrong side in the conflict.

I thought I could find one big significant example to post here, but the article is just full heinous racism and misogyny committed by Tesla employees with HR doing nothing and even making the situation worse.

Hopefully these people get a huge payout from the lawsuit for their pain and as a way to make Tesla clean their shit up.

Do this in tandem with Biden taking full advantage of the current immunity to utterly destroy the Trump campaign since it is a threat to democracy. We'll get that amendment passed in no time.

Tesla stock is worth more than most other car companies combined. Musk's genius is knowing how to pump stock. The company would do much better without Musk, but the stock would tank. No one else is willing to lie, cheat and sacrifice safety like Musk to keep the stock high.

"U.S. District Judge Trina Thompson in San Francisco said customers in the proposed class action failed to show either that the alleged problems were "not generally known" when they bought their vehicles, or that they could not predict the costs to keep their vehicles running.

"To be sure, plaintiffs allege that defendant misled them about...how much maintenance its EVs are designed to need and how long that maintenance ought to take," Thompson wrote. "But nowhere do plaintiffs allege that consumers are in fact unaware of the supposedly supracompetitive prices and exorbitant wait times."

So, basically, most people know Tesla service is shit, so they should have known what they were getting into when they bought their car?

www.commondreams.org Israeli Soldiers Violently Assault Palestinian Journalist Live on CNN Jake JohnsonDec 15, 2023 3 - 4 minutes

Israeli soldiers on Friday brutally assaulted a Palestinian photojournalist as he tried to work in occupied East Jerusalem, violence that was broadcast live by CNN's Turkish affiliate.

Footage of the incident shows Israeli soldiers shoving, yelling at, and eventually battering Anadolu Agency's Mustafa Alkharouf, who was trying to cover the scene as Palestinians gathered near the Al-Aqsa Mosque to pray. The Netanyahu government has imposed tight restrictions on prayer at the Muslim holy site during Israel's bombardment and invasion of the Gaza Strip.

At one point in the footage, an Israeli soldier looks as though he is going to shoot the journalist with his assault rifle, but instead uses the gun to hit him in the face. Subsequently, a soldier throws Alkharouf on the ground while another kicks him repeatedly in the head and torso.

According to Haaretz journalist Nir Hasson, an Israeli officer asked Alkharouf and other journalists to leave a certain location and, when they attempted to comply, their path was blocked by another officer, who began assaulting Alkharouf. The Israeli soldiers also attacked cameraman Faiz Abu Ramila, who was accompanying Alkharouf.

Watch:

Anthony Bellanger, secretary-general of the International Federation of Journalists, condemned the "violent and aggressive" assault and said he's trying to coordinate assistance for Alkharouf, who was hospitalized.

"I watched the video and Mustafa in particular was only doing his job and nothing else," Bellanger told Anadolu.

Alkharouf is one of dozens of journalists who have been attacked by Israeli forces since October 7. In late October, Reporters Without Borders filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court accusing Israeli forces of committing war crimes against Palestinian reporters.

"Israel does not want any journalists they cannot control and censor to witness their mass killing campaign in Gaza," The Intercept's Jeremy Scahill wrote Friday, "so they are systematically killing the Palestinian journalists who are the eyes and ears of the world, reporting from this Israeli-enforced killing cage."

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists' (CPJ) latest count, at least 63 journalists and media workers have been killed in the occupied Palestinian territories, Israel, and Lebanon since early October, with Palestinian journalists making up the overwhelming majority of the death toll.

"CPJ is also investigating numerous unconfirmed reports of other journalists being killed, missing, detained, hurt, or threatened, and of damage to media offices and journalists' homes," the group says on its website.

On Friday, Al Jazeera journalists Wael al-Dahdouh and Samer Abu Daqqa were wounded in a reported Israeli strike on a school in Khan Younis, southern Gaza's largest city.

In response, Reporters Without Borders denounced "these endless attacks on journalists who continue to report the news" and demanded "the protection of reporters."

I think you can agree that we can support a group that is suffering from genocide to fight back and it isn't necessarily antisemitic. Of course, there may be antisemitism from some sectors, but Israel conflates criticism and antisemitism all the time. As a result, at this point, I don't think it is a big concern. Allowing the protestors to fight against a genocidal nation is the more important issue.

Of course the IDF should investigate itself. I'm sure they are completely unbiased.

Did you intentionally avoid reading the article? Or just shit posting? Do you have an ulterior motive for spreading misinformation?

They are investigating him for purchasing 9.2% of the stock without disclosing it appropriately. The article has good details, you might try reading it.

The IDF is complicit too. Maybe it is time to label Israel a terrorist state?

Many Christians probably believe that these laws were made for everyone except them. If you go to more conservative sites discussing the matter, they would probably be asking why people aren't charged for hate crimes against Christians. It's part of their persecution complex.

So one of the most powerful intelligence agencies in the world is losing to Hamas?

And to think, the same guy greenlighting the processes and creating the culture that produced a problem like that, also heads another company that puts software in the hands of people called "full self driving" that controls a piece of equipment that is thousands of pounds and flying down our streets and highways at significant speeds.

What a time to be alive!

How about this source, the actual human rights organization that produced the report?

https://hamoked.org/document.php?dID=Updates2136

Administrative detention constitutes a draconian violation of a person’s rights to liberty and due process. International humanitarian law permits this detention without trial only as an exceptional measure when there is a substantial security threat that cannot be otherwise avoided. But Israel’s use of this measure toward Palestinians is not exceptional at all; Israel holds hundreds of Palestinians from the West Bank in administrative detention for periods of months and even years. Furthermore, administrative detention orders are based on “classified material” such that the detainee has no way to refute the allegations against them. And the Israeli military can extend the period of administrative detention without limit. The infringement of rights of administrative detainees is exacerbated by the fact that many of them are held inside Israel, in blatant violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits the transfer of inmates outside the occupied territory.

But Tesla had a video in 2016 saying that people were only in the driver seat for legal reasons. Musk even said it was only an issue with regulators.

Oh, who to believe!

Notice, when talking about new features, Tesla shills love to promote how great it is and how often it saves then from problems (I can't imagine how badly they must drive. We intervened on our grandmother after a couple of close calls). Then, when there is news about these accidents, they are so quick to blame the driver.

Also, all these problems are with the old versions, the new versions clean up everything.

I do agree with OP here about one thing - don't take anything Tesla and Musk say about the cars' capabilities seriously (including how that might impact stock price) until Tesla is willing to take financial responsibility for accidents. Until then, it's all Musk bullshit.

Good, now you're beginning to understand how the Palestinians feel.

How many Israelis should die to allow your people to be free? There isn't a number too high. The Palestinians' freedom is worth infinitely more than an Israeli oppressor.

Just to vent about another new "feature." Microsoft recently changed in their to-do app. Now, instead of putting the title of the task in the notification, they simply say "you have a task due today."

I would like to find on a hot summer day without air conditioning and pour Kool aid powder in that person's bed.

The far-right minister hit back at the US late on Tuesday over its criticism of his push for the transfer of Palestinians out of Gaza.

"The United States is our best friend, but first of all we will do what is best for the State of Israel: the migration of hundreds of thousands from Gaza will allow the (Israeli) residents of the envelope to return home and live in security and will protect the IDF (Israeli) soldiers," the far-right minister posted on X.

Come on genocide Joe, you have power in this situation. Halt the arms shipments, halt the funding, start taking about crimes against humanity here. These genocidal war criminals are giving you the cover you need to actually start acting.

Just to be clear, "Full Self Driving" is the marketing name for the product. You are instructed to keep your hands on the wheel at all times and Tesla accepts no responsibility at all if it screws up (unlike Mercedes, who takes responsibility for their level 3 autonomous driving service).

And for other people who happen to read this, the only reason Tesla may seem ahead with their technology is that they just don't care about safety. Tesla won't have a safe product until they actually accept responsibility for their product's failings.

I say let Tesla market it as Autopilot if they pass similar regulatory safety frameworks as aviation autopilot functions.
