I just want to know when it's going start being fun.

I think at that point I'd mail a certified letter and cancel whatever card it's on.

That probably wouldn't work but one can dream.

So much of that freight should be moved by rail.

Tax based on weight to 4th power would work if we nationalized railways like roads.

“This is the first demonstration of high resolution up-conversion imaging from 1550-nm infrared to visible 550-nm light in a non-local metasurface," said author Rocio Camacho Morales. "We choose these wavelengths because 1,550 nm, an infrared light, is commonly used for telecommunications, and 550 nm is visible light to which human eyes are highly sensitive. Future research will include expanding the range of wavelengths the device is sensitive to, aiming to obtain broadband IR imaging, as well as exploring image processing, including edge detection.”

That does not sound like an Infrared camera.

I browse all, and I just block communities that I find overly negative.

Sounds like something a nazi would say.

And if they wanted their own little naziverse on the fediverse nobody could stop them, but compared to every other social media platform most of lemmy deplatformed and banned nazis, while they get privileged status on Facebook or Twitter.

Oh they tried, they got banned and any instance they spun up got defederated.

Turns out they don't like just each other very much. And those instances did not grow on their own.

To me it actually felt like a regression.

One of my favorite things in skyrim/oblivion/fallout 4 was environmental storytelling, and this just has none.

I still hate them. Their goal isn't to increase safety but to increase revenue, or they're placed by incompetent people.

Americas aproach to road design is so backwards and gets many people killed.

I don't believe you.

True journalism seems to be on its way out. Why pay journalists to research and investigate when you can pump out tons of ai generated garbage for nearly free.

Buy a object like a lamp that has 3 prongs and exposed metal. Before you pet your dog touch the lamp. 3 prongs so thats it's grounded.

Also when you touch your dog for the first time touch him on his body with you whole hand at once, it'll spread the shock over a larger area and be less painful.

This stuff is almost ewaste.

This is just not enough memory to make a computer last, especially since you can't upgrade.

Websites and apps that a lot of people use just aren't really expecting to only have 8gb ram available. Any kind of multitasking could easily run out of ram

It's still free, just under a different plan named lite https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/plan/lite/

Yeah it's annoying and shitty, but it's not so bad.

Plex is private though?

How long until someone hacks a way to get some of those working anyway

It looks very modular, with company claiming a right to repair philosophy.

The painting seems to be aiming for a lower emissions vehicle, cheaper costs. Given that the body is not metal replacing panels should be easier if they get damaged.

Not to mention battery size doesn't need to be as large, so replacing it should be viable.

I'm hopeful but still got see how everything shakes out.

I don't the the community is actually conservative, but rather critical of conservatives.

The 5 series was never midrange. Its like the 1 series, but smaller.

The 5 ii was the same as the 1ii, just with a smaller size and no wireless charging.

Uh no? Cars have functions, and very real material costs that digital art does not.

Damn this is a nice looking and very informative app.

Actually maintained rail shouldn't have this problem, but the private companies like Norfolk Southern spend the minimum amount to keep them operational.

With a budget just a fraction of highway upkeep and expansion they should be able to be kept in good repair.

I disagree that it's a luxury. Many people, especially autistic people, simply cannot learn this skill and they can suffer for it greatly.

I'd rather reddit die than have 0 input from users.

Users can find somewhere else, but reddit needs users.

I like using a forest berry jam mix of Raspberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Cranberries, and Strawberries.

It's currently my favorite, but when I was a kid I liked strawberry preserves.

Here I'll make it simple for you.

If you block trans teens from receiving gender affirming care, some of them will commit suicide.

Also 99% of gender affirming care is hormone treatments alone.

Because no one else answered heres what I use a lot.

Hardware acceleration to use gpu to transcode video.

Intro detection for tv to skip credits.

Plexamp is a pretty good music player.

I paid for the lifetime pass on sale for $100 which I think is a pretty good deal.

A least $15 a month.

Non power users probably wont pay, and any lower and they'll definitely lose money.

I don't see how paying more than Netflix will do anything other than kill that app.

I wasn't recommending it for that?

I said that it wouldn't be good for streaming apps, like Netflix, and the previous comment was asking about Plex specifically.

Are they still using Mp3 for audio or have they switched to something more modern for that too?

It's funny how well linux works with printers, no stupid hp app, no configuration. Just hit print and done.

I think I heard mentioned that they expect the wrap to last 5-10 years, which isn't great, but not terrible.

I don't think they have a choice with right to repair, as changing their stance would be detrimental to their following.

I'm pretty sure it's google trying to get you to use chrome, as chrome behaves how you think it should.

They don't have to. Bikes need their own space, bus can have their own lanes which increases overall efficiency, and train lines obviously need their own space.

That gpu looks like it only has 6 pins, not 8, so it could be fine.

It seems like they are targeting something like the steamdeck for low end: 720p 30 fps, low settings, but high at 1440p 60 fps is many more pixels/s (~8 times as much?) and with higher settings.

This I think should be good, as it will scale well with better hardware while still being accessible.

I occasionally switch to chrome as a troubleshooting step when a website doesnt work, and it rarely is firefox the problem.

Not for the shield, but there's a Chinese device, Ugoos am6b+, that you can install coreelec on.

Coreelec is a linux os designed to run kodi, add a plex add on and it can play almost anything.

Any dolby vision profile, including the one that can usually only be played on bluray players. Any audio including TrueHD, dolby atmos, and DTS.

Sucks for streaming apps sadly, so you'd have to get another device like Apple TV or something.

I put down a deposit recently, like last month, but I have a similar outlook. I wanna see how they do after a few years to see how they hold up first. But if they look good and start selling like hotcakes I might be glad I put a deposit down early. Otherwise I'll cancel and get a Chevy bolt begrudgingly.

I wanna be optimistic because I do want Aptera to at least push the whole industry towards more repairable efficient and cheep evs.

Just cpu.
