Not my life because it was a comment on Reddit (at least I think it wasn't quoted from anything else). But I loved it and I remember it years later still.

As my father told me, There are only three useless things in this world. Nuns' nipples, bishops' balls and an employer's praise without a raise.

  • gas stations in some countries will take it
  • the store where you bought it should take it (in most western countries)
  • you should be able to bring it to the recycling center (or whatever they call it where you live), or sometimes regional waste collector services have a mobile station for hazardous goods, and electronics that changes location every week. then just keep an eye out on when they are near your home.

well, I am fairly sure that, legally speaking, there is a requirement for organizations to identify that by many jurisdictions.
Regardless, there is a difference in that I am not interested in being the judge. I don't downvote at all.

But you can have that gotcha. one point for you!

I chose to run TrueNAS Scale. But I have a travel kit on a couple of RPis that consists of OpenWRT + OMV with some Docker containers.

I seem to have the opposite experience of other commenters. I find TrueNAS Scale very intuitive to use. The only issue I have with it, are some Truechart apps (it seems to usually be ones that require a ingress)

OMV is okay. I find it really hard to navigate the UI. It feels like something from the 00s.

I tried proxmox but gave up on it. I just could not figure out Permissions for portainer. Nothing worked. But I guess that's on me because everyone loves proxmox

It's also worth remembering that is a public discussion. Often times a reply to your comment is not directed at you directly, but to the audience at large.
