Hi guys, I'm new here from Reddit and I'm still learning about Lemmy and the Fediverse. Can someone ELI5 how not blocking Threads can negatively affect this community? Thanks.

Oh cool! Daytime concerts in the scorching Sun!

They we're 3 outstanding episodes. Not 10 fillers and 3 good ones.

Deleted my Twitter account and switched from Reddit (accounts are not deleted) to Lemmy.

Switched from Chrome back to Firefox after more than a decade.

Dropped Windows in favor of Linux Mint.

Unsubscribed from Netflix, Disney+, etc. Now I only torrent the films, series, etc. that I know I'll watch more than once, for stuff that I only plan on watching once I use Stremio with the Torrentio add-on.

Started using my old Facebook account after several years just for Marketplace.

That's all I can remember at the moment.

EDIT: Oh yeah, ditched PornHub for NoodleMagazine.

That's probably where its headed. At least that's the impression to that I get.

I remember diamond handing some stocks and missing out on some serious gains.

Yes. And you call them steamed hams despite the fact that they are obviously grilled.

I recently binged the entirety of Better Call Saul on Stremio using the Torrentio plugin. I have a Netflix sub.

I miss living back in Mexico and not having to activate (and pay for) the VPN whenever I want to download something.

I tried to change ONE record in the production db but I forgot the WHILE clause, ended up changing over 2 MILLION records instead. Three hour production shutdown. Fun times.

Was 18 at the time.

BEST. NEW. YEAR'S. EVE. EVER.

BestBuy brand Insignia offers non-smart TVs.

Like warm apple pie.

Not even once.

This might be my next phone. I'm still rocking the Pixel 5a which has updates until August and thanks to its OtterBox it's still in great condition. But IDK, might end up installing a custom ROM.

That's how Louis CK distributes his shows since he was cancelled.

Arr!

Yep. In the 90s when I grew up, the politically correct term was "mentally challenged", which eventually started being used as an insult. The current term is "special needs" and already I've seen it used as an insult.

Waffle.

Woosh.

Y'all sleeping on cucumber.

  1. RDR2 - 2,225 hours
  2. MGSV - 1,388 hours
  3. TW3 - 645 hours

I'm sure SMW is the real 3rd. place, but I don't have the numbers.

VLC.

Fuck you! I won't do what you tell me!

Pretty much what lessthanthree said. Cleaner interface too. I still have Netflix cause it's easier for my kids, they're still young and can't search by name, they have to look at the pictures.

I still remember the Xmas we got the SNES. We stayed up until 3 AM playing SMW.

I want my baby back, baby back, baby back, baby back, baby back, baby back, baby back.

The Atari 2600. I don't remember which games we owned, I was about 4 at the time, didn't even understand the objectives of the games. But then our parents got us the NES with the Zapper a few years later and by then I was old enough to understand how to play both Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt.

I have Amazon Prime which includes Prime Video and I just watched the first four episodes of Reacher 2 on Stremio with Torrentio. Before this, I binged all of Better Call Saul also on the latter, before cancelling Netflix. I also cancelled Disney+ after they announced the second price hike in less than a year, ended up watching Loki 2 also on Stremio. Fuck this greedy assholes.

I'm a man and the oldest of 6. My brother and I grew up being part of the same group of friends but grew apart in our early 20s (we're now around 40), he has his own group of friends now, we rarely see each other but we're in good terms. We have 4 sisters, 3 of them and I hang out whenever we get a chance and we're very close, our other sister stopped hanging out with us because of some drama.

Same. Stremio with Torrentio and Jellyfin for the win.

Some Lego games.

Only reason I came to the comments.

They mean themselves, their brain.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I think it's one of the greatest films ever made because I watched it, not because someone told me it was.

Can't blame it on autocorrect, I fucked up.

In chronological order...

Brach's Fruit Slices.

I think there's a Val Kilmer film about this.
