Always looking for new music.

He/they pronouns.

I had a music teacher who would read sheet music like this. He said he could hear it, and he prefered it to actually listening to a recording because his imagination was so much richer than what could be captured by a recording.

I thought it was amazing and really envied this ability.

Maybe I'm overly cynical, but I suspect this was the plan all along.

Terry Pratchett. I'm grateful for the books he wrote and the impact he had on my life, but I feel we lost a champion for wit and empathy when he died.

"sexual deviancy" aaah okay, you've shown us who you are now.

I can't speak for the mods but I'd love to see original music here.

Who is the "you" in your statement? Who has done what, exactly, to threaten children in your view?

I woke up at 5 in the morning with a stomach bug 🤢

Radiohead. I just can't get into them, and I've really tried.

It still works at the moment though, and as far as I'm aware there haven't been any changes (yet) to the percentage artists get from sales. It's still one of the best ways to buy music.

So leave me alone!

Sure! Here are a few good example albums of the genre

No, you couldn't use it as a valid legal defense. There are a lot of old laws like this in the UK that, while technically on the books, have been replaced by more recent legislation.

My go-to *sonic/navidrome client on Android is Symfonium. It's not free but it's well-maintained and has all the features I need (smart playlists, artist radio, gapless playback and replaygain).

You know it's okay to dress brightly, flamboyantly, dazzlingly and even fabulously too, right?

Same, this will always be my favourite The Cure album.

"Separate the art from the artist" should be a discussion, not a rule. Also sexual abuse is not a small thing.

If his music has a special place for you, fine, but also accept that there are people who don't want to promote him because of the numerous allegations about him and his behaviour.

As is "numerous". I've also read his autobiography, and I have no doubt about the kind of person he is.

This, and the version of Nutshell from the same Unplugged session, never cease to leave me with a lump in my throat.

Anathema are one of my favourite ever bands. This entire album is immensely important to me.

Yeah there's an honesty in his voice that really resonates with me.

Thank you, I like this a lot. Will keep my eye out for the EP.

Edit: if anyone else is curious, the EP can be preordered from the band's Bandcamp.

I have so much love for this album. It's one of the first I ever bought. Such a beautiful track too.

👏

Hi! demi here. Nice to meet you 😊

Haha I just saw. I was sure I was going to get hate for this take, too.

This is great, thanks for sharing!

Yet another example of a Bob Dylan cover being better than the original.

Love this band. They're great live, too. Go see them if you ever get the opportunity.

The main synth melody in Nine Inch Nails's "Ringfinger" has this kind of effect.

Sure. I don't mind dms but sometimes it can take me a bit of time to reply, as I like to keep some "off internet" time for myself.

I love this song and the album it's on. I also got to see them live for the first time recently and it made me love them even more.

"Untitled" by Smashing Pumpkins. It's not my favourite song of theirs but it immediately takes me back to when it came out, watching it with my first girlfriend on Kerrang TV.

That's beautiful ❤️

Oh wow this had completely passed me by. I love this style, thanks!

Yeah I really like his tone and playing style. I'll be checking more out by him.

Glad you like it!

I'd second this suggestion, I've used borg with rsync.net for the past 4 years and it's been great.

Yes! Saw them live recently and they were excellent.

RIP Caleb.

I've been lucky enough to see them live and I agree, each time was great!
