From what I've played and heard, it's a bit of a "reset" after the highs of Endwalker, and the story takes a while to get started. It takes 20 quests to even reach the first new dungeon, which will take at least an hour+ of gameplay and cutscenes. I'm still looking forward to getting through it, but I understand the muted responses.

This is one of those games that I never played, but heard years later that there was a cult following for it.

A friend of mine apparently played it during childhood, and it's one of their core games of that era. The variety of gameplay with the bright yet grim style just spoke to them deeply.

You realize that AAA is used to refer to the budget, scale, and expectations of the game, right? And that it's more of a reboot than a remake, meaning it's probably not going to be an arcade style game. They're talking about their aims for the game, and trying to justify charging $60-70 for it beforehand.

First, I'm glad they found the kid. No one deserves to be manipulated and taken like that.

Second, dude, wtf? He's in his 30s and thinks that this is something he should do? The kid is literally half his age, and he seems to think that they're in any position for a genuine romantic relationship? Gross.

I understand Jaffe not being happy that the games are going in a different direction than he imagined, but he's also the guy who thought Drawn to Death needed to be made.

It depends on what I'm trying to maximize.

If I just want the happiness spike ASAP, then I would just buy $15 worth of Magic cards, or maybe a booster pack or three, depending on the set.

If I'm trying to maximize my overall happiness over any amount of time, I think spending $15 on something reusable, like a nice pair of socks or a hat would work out for me.

If I want to maximize happiness in general, then spending it on someone else I care about does double duty. It makes someone else happy, and I get happiness from being involved in the process.

Will always love anything Danny and his team put out.

This is his punishment for Total Forgiveness, where he had to go up and do a stand up routine. I think the full footage of it is listed as a separate thing from the episode it happened in, though.

They're just fun little nods to PlayStation's history. Previous AstroBot games have been fun little 3D platformers, with little tidbits that pay tribute to the PlayStation and its various controllers and accessories and even major series.

This is just saying that there are going to be a ton of references, hinting at the scope and budget of the game.

I used to type like that a lot, back in the era of AIM and FB chat being my primary social and communication outlets. Not sure why, but if I had to point fingers, I'd say it was an attempt to look not-too-tryhard and to emphasize the feeling of it being like a chat. It's off the cuff, not super planned or thought-out or composed.

Super Mario Sunshine

Great game, would highly recommend it to anyone who has fond feelings for JRPGs.

It is hard to stay afloat as a comic book store.

This is why I'm the rules guy in my board game group. I sit down, absorb the rulebook, think about edge cases and check online for answers, simulate a game on my own, and then I get everyone together to sit down and learn the game.

Turns out the ability to hold the rules to like 6 different board games in my head, while not vital for daily life, is a superpower that I intend to fully use.

From what I had read somewhere, the holdup is in batching a ton of the promotions into a single voting item. Batching them together requires a unanimous vote, so by voting against it, Tuberville gets to hold the entire process hostage. Promotions can still occur, but each promotion would likely take weeks or months of work and deliberations.

Sorry, that's my bad. When I see something that looks like a request for information, I try my best to answer it. Even if you personally don't find it useful, someone else in a similar position but different perspective on learning might be interested. Sorry, hope you have a good day!

He's saying that if you can change a hard drive, then you can always just keep a spare one (with a clean OS install) on hand to use whenever you take it in for repairs.

Changing a hard drive is basically knowing where the hard drive is, how to access it, and then unplugging and replugging some cables. Fairly easy, and most newer cases have been designed to make it easy to reach the storage bays.

To be more specific, there are 4 time zones in the contiguous 48 states: Pacific, Mountain, Central, and Eastern. Alaska is also one hour behind Pacific, and Hawaii (usually) one hour behind Alaskan. But Hawaii also doesn't observe daylight savings time.

This also doesn't account for how some states (like Arizona) don't observe DST while Navajo Nation (in Arizona) does, while Hopi land (surrounded by Navajo) doesn't.

Time is confusing.

Apparently 3 is a prequel to 1 and 2, though you can obviously play it 312 or 123, whichever you prefer.

Shin Megami Tensei is a long-running series, though the games are all standalone (think Final Fantasy). I think SMT VI came out in the last 2 years, if you wanted to give it a try.

For a brief idea of it, it's about convincing demons and spirits to join up with you as you move through some sort of post-apocalyptic world. You then end up fusing various spirits together in order to become stronger.

Is there a source for this?

On PC, the download size is 100GB, install size is 122Gb, and the devs recommend 150GB, probably for saves and potentially mods one day.

If you play on a separate account specifically to play in a different skill range, then that would be smurfing. But if you play through the calibration games on that account to your best ability, then it should place you roughly where your other account would be within a handful of games.

I ordered the Limited Edition as soon as I could get past the store errors, and it's out for delivery right now! Unfortunately I'm out and about, but look forward to playing it soon.

Mine is mostly a machine for travel. It's a godsend on flights, or for keeping up with an MMO like FFXIV when I'm gone for a week or longer. It's also handy for group things when we have a TV (Jackbox for family, or Moonrakers: Luminor for my board game group).

This is also me in RTS games.

I heard Chris mention this when GiantBomb had him on their podcast a week or two ago. It seems like a wild time.

I didn't know this existed until I saw the Nextlander guys playing it, and even then I didn't catch the name of the game.

Zero marketing means that unless the game is absolutely amazing, there will be no word of mouth and no buzz, leading to no one noticing the game at all.

That was the only brief moment in time where I had actually cleared out my inbox. Now it's just a nightmare.

I mean, it's basically the same as Patapon's audio design.

This week has been keeping up with Honkai Star Rail dailies. I haven't done the new patch content yet, but I'm just spending my energy getting resources and leveling my team.

Beyond that, I've been grinding some casual matches in Street Fighter 6. My local card shop is hosting a small tournament on Saturday, and I at least want my BnB combos to land. I don't think I'll win, but playing in Platinum is at least showing me where my weaknesses are.

Last but not least, I got Baldur's Gate 3 for the early access bit. It's fun, if a bit slow, and can be pretty punishing. Not sure if I'll play the full game by save scumming or just living (and dying) with the consequences of my actions.

I got it a few months ago but haven't given it a shot yet. I've always been a little wary of 3D Metroidvanias because I feel like I'll get way too lost. Might give it a play on the Steam Deck next week, though.

When I was losing weight, tracking my progress on things like running and weight helped me stay consistent with it. Every time you exert yourself, it's towards a goal, and if you can track your progress it feels less pointless.

Looks like the original tweet ended as (Rock Band) to indicate the game that took #1 back in 2008, and either OP or the auto-titler missed the parentheses?

I was scrolling all the way down, looking for someone to mention Swatch Internet Time. I never got the hang of it, with regards to what beats related to various times of the day for myself, but I love the idea.

Okay, this seems cool! I hope it catches enough eyes, because the multiplayer side is going to live or die by its playerbase.

RGG Studio has been stellar, but yeah, I haven't really played much else from Sega lately.

Ah, okay. My bad. Yes, it should probably sound something like that. At least, the consistent "Ratatan" chants (or variations thereof). Some of the higher, more meaningless screaming happens, but at least it's not 3 out of every 4 quarter notes. If you catch some Patapon 2 videos, you'll see what I mean.

Teams at work, Facebook Messenger with family, and occasionally Discord with online friends (or with family, if we're having a game night). About half of my family uses iPhones, so they often Facetime each other, but whenever it's a full family call, we know that everyone can use Messenger. I'll occasionally use Duo or whatever it's called to call my dad, and that's about it.

IF it comes to PC, you can use a Steam Deck or similar handheld PC.

If it comes to Switch, there's that. And I think Sony has something for streaming a PS5 to a handheld device?
