This comment should win an award for its confident stupidity. Google “constitutional amendments”.
They do not
For me it was seeing a news article montage showing literally the exact same headlines from 2016 about Hillary Clinton. It’s just the same play from a tired playbook.
The didn’t make 420m in profit, they lost 124m.
I actually think they are currently all going south. This increase in ads is just one part of the fall I think.
This is not the case at all and the parent comment was not clear
One of the biggest categories they mention is access to childcare facilities. They also have crime as a category.
That accounts for 14% according to their posted scoring system. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/06/15/how-we-are-choosing-americas-top-states-for-business-in-2023.html
This is really exciting, I’m obviously skeptical like others but I’m also very hopeful about this.
This is definitely not the universal term all americans would go by. Many even find it offensive.
It’s been updated many times!
Personal data isn’t only used for ads. In this case a users watching history can be sold especially if it’s connected in some way to a demographic profile. There could be many more ways to monetize many other things the user does.
Your theory at the end there sounds right on the money. I never considered that before but I think that is the most plausible.
The brutal honesty is what makes this sing
Thank you so much! I’m going to try those first two today. Appreciate it!
Uhhhh isn’t this pretty massive news? Or am I missing something?
The analogies in this were really good and honestly really accurately describe threads enough for me. What a strange place that is, the captions on the screenshots killed me.
It is basically impossible in this day and age. Similar with credit cards. I have been using a LightPhone for 2 years and before that a Cosmos 3 flip phone for 5 years. Currently 7 years off smartphones and I’ll never go back, but I don’t see how a young person can do it right now. Just doesn’t seem possible and i hate that.
Ask it to search or list all of Bach’s children and you can see the wheels completely fall off. It was inventing people with actual fake birth and death dates and also gave me some of Handel’s children!
That person is not wrong, what are you referring to? Your left out the other half of your comment that explains anything.
Thank you very much for explaining that. This has really been pretty far over my head but it’s so exciting.
Definitely not annoying at all. Certainly on the higher pitch side but it sounds good and I would listen to an audio book with this voice.
This is from 2020 so there could be more but i cannot fathom owning close to 3500 domain names. that’s gotta be close to 100k per year just for the registration fees.
It’s a very common English idiom to start a sentence that way. Are you ignorant?
Those are the video view counts I believe
Thank you
Honestly curious, but do you have more info on this?
Really wonderful comment and very thought provoking. I think more people, myself included, should be thinking about what the transition away from capitalism looks like and not just banging on the drum that capitalism is all that is wrong. We need to be thinking about what steps 1 and 2 look like, not the last step which is way too difficult for anyone to properly see how to get there.
This makes no sense. This person made a claim and I asked what the source was. Shouldn’t they know where their own comment came from?
You probably added 10 years to your life with that. Healthier years too.
I love those at the end how you can return to the risk levels of non smokers in really not that much time in the grand-scheme.
Thank you I think this might be the best way to go.
I think this is the most accurate and succinct explanation on the topic i’ve read
What is it you’re suggesting?
I completely agree with you, I lost my original yahoo account right around that time and i think about it pretty regularly, i just want to see what was in there one more time.
It's a Carrier 38MARB Performance Heat Pump, and it SAYS it's rated at 100% efficiency down to 5 deg F but I can tell you from experience that it starts buckling below freezing. I have monitored it over a whole winter season and when we hit the 20s it starts running defrost cycles every 15-20 minutes. Each cycle takes about 5-10 minutes to defrost. It's not able to keep the room warm.
Granted, this is a 500 sq ft room with a wide opening to the next room and a 25' ceiling. I don't think it was a great use-case for heating in general. For cooling, this thing is irreplaceable. It barely breaks a sweat and uses almost no energy, while keeping the room at any low temperature I set it to. I've yet to see it have any issues cooling, even when it's 90F and humid outside.
It's a Carrier 40MAHB
Yes we actually can’t even run our heat pump mini-split below 40, it runs too many defrost cycles and can’t heat the room. We installed a wood pellet stove to use for those temps.
I think you need to clarify how they can see the password. It’s not stored in plaintext, but when the user logs in, the server administrator can see the password in the HTTP post data if they log it in the lemmy sourcecode. All apps are subject to this and it’s why to have to trust the instance owner.
