I would say circlejerking. The Bean meme was very Reddit like, but maybe it is necessary to build an online community to have posts like that?

I don’t understand why they are going to keep the service running through October? If you are leaving, why not get it over with - could someone enlighten me?

It surprises me how poor people's technology literacy is, when they see an app with a completely skewed logo and think, "It's probably the real deal."

There really needs to be some form of education in this area...

Tried to read this post twice- what are you telling me to be aware of / stop doing?

Is that really a journalist… or a commentator? Not a very objective analysis of the situation.

Local officials have said that delivery workers receive approximately $11 hourly after tips, given their out-of-pocket expenses – which is $4 less than New York City’s minimum wage of $15

That wage is insulting, both to the workers and the city. Kick the business’ out of town - someone other will fill the vacuum and do it better.

I tried using the official app as I had a relapse - I gave it a serious shot, but it is just soooooo behind the UI in Apollo. It so many little things it gets wrong, but overall It’s just not fun to use…

I think this is the reason I like Voyager so much, it’s beginning to look a lot like Apollo ❤️

New explosion or the pillars giving up?

I can’t figure out, why you would ever accept such an low offer. $100 for something worth potentially more sounds ridiculous. How much did he need the money? 😅

Am I missing something?

Ukraine itself acknowledges that it is not realistic to become a member as long as the Russian invasion continues.

Wonder how long before it turns up on the graveyard 🪦

Even though I despise the man, this is not enjoyable to watch.

Besides that, it point to a central problem with American politics - the politicians are WAY to old 👴🏻

I was hoping for something else when I saw the title.

But, now that I am here:

I will soon start a new job, where the number of emails will be much larger than it is now. Any recommendations for sorting these ‘like a boss’?

I am using Mac mail, but can change to outlook if there are some good reasons - and stuff Mac mail can’t do (mail wise).

I find the size quite pleasing. Sure there are more posts and stuff to see, but here it’s possible to actually have a conversation with someone and not have your comment buried in 3k other comments.

But that being said, I would like to see Reddit crash and burn, so business practices like that doesn’t become more common.

And you are right - decentralisation is the future.

Best comment - even though I like their brush with the suction cup mere 🤗

I undrstand your reasoning. But you can’t ignore that there are a number of standards, not only security-related but also legal and political, that Ukraine must meet in order to be admitted to the defense alliance. It would likely require a series of reform requirements that need to be fulfilled.

Thank you for the update and elaboration.

This is so exciting - there is a big potential here, if we are careful and cautious.

I think the computer scientist they interview in the article hits the nail on the head with his statement:

these models “should always be regarded as assistants rather than the final decision makers

AI technologies as an extension of human ability is going to revolutionise a lot of professional fields. But, we need to approach the technology the right way! We need to start early, and have digital literacy as a focus area in schools.

Critical-constructive thinking (as described by Wolfgang Klafki <3). Boy would the world be a better place if everyone could think for them self, and not only criticise but also ‘build something’ better.

You are giving Elon way to much credit - I really doubt that he is playing 4D chess here. But let’s see 😅

Impressive. It’s surreal to hear Johnny ‘sing’ those lyrics.

As for your questions, I don’t really know… I think whatever the answer may be, overlaps with the SAG-AFTRA strike going on I US.

Stuff like this is so funny. You can really make kids believe the funniest things if you have a little imagination 🎅🏻

Good idea! I just posted there 👍🏻

I know life is really heard for the North Korean people, but sometimes I wonder; what would happen if the world just collectively decided to ignore the country all together? These launches feels like a toddler screaming for attention - explosive attention, I know, but it works - yet another article about NK.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to me anymore, but alas; the ruthlessness and morraly bankrupt practices that governs some American companies is surprising…

I appreciate living in the EU and the fight taking place here for my data rights. Although deep down I'm aware that similar practices surely are happening here, they just haven't been uncovered yet.

Edit: As mentioned in a comment above, it appears to be an error. However, the morally issue remains. I don't understand how one can handle sensitive information so carelessly.

Nature is both scary and amazing at the same time!

Thanks for the advice in general - and the formatting idea specifically! I am going to try this out 💌

Wow! I’m going to add some of these to my RSS feed. Didn’t know that was possible. Thank you

I'm not entirely sure if that's the case.

Nevertheless, it would be great if people had better tools to assess whether the "trades" they make with tech giants are as innocent as they think. This requires, for example, a better understanding of the data they are giving away. I think the list of permissions shown on the app store for the legitimate app can be quite abstract for many people. Makes it too too easy to overlook the potential consequences and quickly click download - or accept, like many do with cookies.

Thank you for the detailed reply 👍🏻

By design 🤗 it probably results in more of your attention being wasted or they wouldn’t have made it like that

Did you then reply from the folders, or what was the point of this sorting? Genuine question.

And can you give rule examples? Was it just @ending go to folder A? ☺️

Makes sense. Thank you 👍🏻

Could you elaborate the labelling part? Why not use folders?

Great idea! I am setting that rule up asap.

This was really enlightening. Do you have some articles that elaborate? ☺️

Doing weird stuff have given him a lot of free media attention- maybe it’s just become a habit and it’s about to backfire? 🤞🏻

Thank you for sharing - going to watch this later.

Why? I am not condoning the 90% decision - but, why not start figuring out ways to implement and improve whatever you are working with? There are alt to figure out about AI and what to use it for - ant not to use it for. But total abstinence it’s like choosing not to use the internet to search for knowledge that could be useful for your business or work.

We should be learning - not ignoring.

Look around, Helen. American politics can't get much worse, so if it's a bloodsport they want, it's a bloodsport they'll get.

If you think the answer is to be as morally bankrupt as you think your opponent is, you are ignoring your own supposed values.

edit: How very, very convenient that you don't even live in the US and so you'll never be directly affected by Mitch McConnell's actions and have the luxury of finger-wagging at those of us mired in his shit, all the way from the other side of the fucking ocean. How very convenient indeed.

Your are right. But American politics have a way of being everyone’s business and influence a lot of people - people from the EU included. I see this influence on our political system, and it is not pretty. The idea about not playing by any rules is just sad; if you have no compass you are truly lost and don’t really work for anything.

Side note: I am amazed that you think my nationality excludes me from having an opinion on this. It highlights the problem with a community called ‘politics’ on lemmy.****world only about American politics - and apparently only for Americans.
