Self proclaimed billionaire needing to pay a bondsman to post a $200k bail -https://edition.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-georgia-surrender-indictment-08-24-23/h_6ffaca91cdc334edafa9f3a1a9c5be8c

Laughably embarrassing. But I’m not surprised if the bondsman waived even the 10% fee just for the free publicity.

I was told this could be all fixed by pulling up your bootstraps and a firm handshake.

“NEVER SURRENDER!”, he tweets, while surrendering to Fulton County Jail.

Not sure if this gets seen by anyone from LTT, but I’m a regular consumer of their products (ie., their YT content).

I find that more and more of their videos don’t seem to end with some satisfactory conclusion, and quite a number of it is way too janky when with a little more thought and planning, could have been done and concluded much better.

Take for example the fanless heatsink dipped in ice bath video, or the car radiator water cooling video. It’s always them trying to fix some jank or scramble on camera to fight some spontaneous issues or leaks or whatever. It’s fun, yes, entertaining, yes, but utterly unsatisfactory in the end. Reminds me of a post-nut sad depression wank.

I’d love to see the “training data” for this model, but I can already predict it will be 99.999% footage of minorities labelled ‘criminal’.

And cops going “Aha! Even AI thinks minorities are committing all the crime”!

Prosecutors: slaps orange cheetoh "This obese turd can fit so many indictments in it"

I personally don't know of any company that has gotten better post-IPO than they were before. Would be enlightening it if anyone could suggest examples or personal anecdotes.

I have not consciously clicked on any CNET content since the early 2000s. In my mind their content are mostly puff pieces without much substance. Are they even still relevant?

Reading through the reported exchange, it sounds like someone wants to be Queen Bee, but was taken down a peg or two.

Boo hoo.

I've never bought options before, but I'm in for 10grand and shorting the shit out of this.

Ex arch btw user here. I noped out and wiped after thinking I had it all nailed down, then I tried to connect my Bluetooth headphones and I came to a grand awakening. I am too old for this shit.

Installed Tumbleweed and been happy ever since.

This is 100% me but for Lemmy.

Absolutely, Pop!_OS is literally made to just work™. I would recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone looking to get into Linux. The out-of-the-box experience is probably second-to-none.

'member when Oklahoma bought $2m worth of hydroxychloroquine at the height of repub's hysteria, then tried to return them for a refund? Pepperidge Farm 'member.

$199 per month?! Fuck me that's moronic.

I have a doctorate in computer engineering, and yeah it’s overhyped to the moon.

I’m oversimplifying it and some one will ackchyually me but once you understand the core mechanics the magic is somewhat diminished. It’s linear algebra and matrices all the way down.

We got really good at parallelizing matrix operations and storing large matrices and the end result is essentially “AI”.

Fuck, I was looking forward to the entertainment on Monday. Oh well.

Wasn't there a rumor making the rounds that the Secret Service is actually permeated by right-wing sympathizers? To the extent that they conveniently erased all archived text/digital communications between agents back in Jan 6? Story here

Given that backdrop I wouldn't be surprised if they will be complicit in his escape.

From a purely academic/scientific perspective, is there a reason why they do not administer some form of benzodiazepine to gently sedate the prisoner before conducting the execution protocol? I'm not a medical professional, but I do have prescription benzo and it works miraculously in calming me down and lets me drift off to an incredibly deep sleep.

This really defeats the purpose of using linux distros imo. The whole point was freedom of customisation and truely make it my own.

If I wanted a lock stock barrel experience I would just stick with Windows or macOS.

What a coincidence! So do brain damage and/or lead poisoning.

Let’s not kink-shame.

The $83.3 million sum adds to $5 million sitting in escrow that Trump already owes Carroll from the other lawsuit she brought against him in 2022 that he lost at trial in May, when the first jury to consider her allegations found the former president sexually assaulted her on an unoccupied floor at Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Avenue in 1996 and defamed her as “a complete con job” on Truth Social after his presidency in October 2022.

https://sg.news.yahoo.com/nyc-jury-finds-trump-owes-221600368.html

Just adding this here - the $5m he owes is already paid into escrow. Let's see that $83m in the pot as well while he continues to dig a deeper hole.

Ubuntu was my first-ever training-wheels gateway to Linux. I started from 8.04 Hardy Heron, and it felt like such a counter-culture move back then and I wanted to be part of the 'cool' edgy goth kids that DGAF about the mainstream normies.

15 years later, I still daily-drive windows, but I have many linux boxes for various specialist use-cases, mainly for scripting or self-hosting services, and still have 22.04 server versions running here and there. But this will be my last version of Ubuntu, and the only reason its still there is because migrating them is going to be no fun.

The Ubuntu today feels like a completely different animal than when I started. My breaking point was the 'upgrade to pro' message on every apt run. I DON'T WANT TO SIGN UP FOR YET ANOTHER METERED ACCOUNT. I use Linux to escape all the mainstream commercialism and monetization once in a while when I'm up for it. Next thing I know, it starts popping up in Linux OS's and even terminals asking me to login with an account so that I can be monetized.

Don't get me wrong, I know people need to eat and companies need revenue streams to pay their staff. Linux was my occasional escape back to my engineering and tinkering roots, but corporatism is creeping in like what happens to all good things (eventually).

How dare you criticize the son of the late Queen and grandson of Abraham Lincoln. You show some damn respect for his bravery in World War I and his Intergalactic Medal of Honor.

I mean, who doesn't love to have candy crush and facebook automatically bundled with their OS? I mean, I had a fantastic two years waiting for the never combine taskbar feature to be released. The never-ending prompt to make edge my default browser is also utterly refreshing. m$ is so ahead of the game, they even anticipated my needs by shoving onedrive prompts in my control panel. How about that Office 365? Have you tried it yet? No? Well you're missing out my man, in case you change your mind I'm going to put it right there in the front page of settings so you'll never miss it.

I was told they were peaceful protesters and are now hostages. Either that or they were crisis actors planted by the radical left.

I can't figure out which is which now.

There's the (very) real issue of infant mortality.

I first beheld the glory of the cube in 2009. It was transcendental. I almost felt my soul leaving my body and ascending to a higher plane of consciousness, where few have treaded and those that truly grasp its majesty, yet fewer still. I was swept up in the spiritual, yet fleeting, ephemeral, and mercurial experience that was like no other. We were no more than ants trying to understand Einstein’s Relativity, or dung beetles oblivious to the sonorous rapture of Mozart.

I flipped the cube for a couple more times to show it to my unimpressed wife, and promptly never booted into Ubuntu since.

It’s Aileen Cannon. She can rule as she damn well pleases. Before it gets overturned on appeal anyway.

That's way too big a trombone compared to my world's tiniest violin.

Looking at the direction in which things are heading, they're going to need alot of it.

Good riddance. You can tell he’s absolutely reveling in his outsized influence. No matter how evil the republicans may be, at the very least they are proud of what they are. joe “centrist” machin is by all accounts a double-dipping coward who wants to have his cake and eat it too. At least Sinema had the guts to own up to it.

I yearn for the day that these neanderthals are no longer newsworthy, but I suspect it will never come in my lifetime.
