I recently upgraded my XBox 360 Wireless controller and got the Flydigi Vader 3 Pro. Hall Effect Sensors trigger guard. Picked it up for und er 50 bucks on Aliexpress. They are available on Amazon US, but not in Europe.

Really happy with it so far.

Repeat after me "Fines need to be tied to global revenue". It has to hurt, if you want companies to stop.

I have never played a From Software game. Sekiro is really tempting to get, because I never could see myself dodging/rolling around the big enemies and bosses. Mostly human-sized enemies and parrying sounds much more appealing to me. But the difficulty has scared me off thus far and it never went below 50% off

Witcher 3 was great even though the pacing almost lost me. I'm the kind of player who plays one main story mission and then has to complete all available side quests, before continuing the main quest. It's the reason the only Bethesda Game I have ever finished is Oblivion.

That's why I recommend people to stick with it and finish some main quests if you ever feel like the game loses yo.

A little PSA: buying a game just before a sale, is a legitimate reason for a refund according to their Refund FAQ

I bought Horizon Zero Dawn when it was 50% off. For me it was really worth it. Got every achievement for it. I plan to do the same when Horizon Forbidden West is 50% off.

It's definitely a great game, when it reaches the right price point for you

Why companies aren't fined for every customers data they didn't secure properly is beyond me. This should cost them a specific sum per customer or part of their annual global revenue. Make it hurt.

Otherwise they have no reason to spend money to properly secure people's data.

I don't see the value in using an extension just to automatically watch YouTube in HD. Maybe 10 years ago, but now we got Newpipe.

Also Google Search has gone downhill for quite some time now. Why should I install an extension that reverts the enshittification Google has deliberately created?

DDG, Qwant, searXNG maybe even Brave or Kagi are better options. If you like Google Search so much, at least use Startpage.

Not specific for learning, but you can put any command into ExplainShell and it breaks down the individual parts for you.

Roblox not runnimg is more like a feature. /s

This position could only happen with an illegal move. Another monarch would never permit the pawns to kill royalty and their police force would never help.

Did you ever wonder why the game is over just before a king dies?!?

More and more aspects of life require an app or at least a smartphone (QR codes). That already excludes older people from some aspects of daily life. Let's do the same for kids!

Politicians should do their jobs and regulate tech and social media not ban useful devices.

No, it's an android app.

I don't like to install an app for every service or product, but newpipe adds so much value, that it's a no-brainer for me.

I think it's hilarious that western leaders are worried about provoking Russia by providing Ukraine with weaponry that can be used in Russian territory.

Russia is at war with us. It's not tanks, fighter jets and battleships. It's cyber warfare, disinfomation campaigns, bribing of right wing politicians and poisonings. Just because nobody wants to call it a war, doesn't make it go away.

Congress should have a theme for this. "Warcrime Wednesdays"?

Logseq + Syncthing for Linux and Android

Rumors are it will have a LCD screen. That way Nintendo will be able to make a version with an OLED screen a few years later and sell it to you again. They're so "innovative".

T480. Still good availability. It was popular with companies that put them back into th e market a few years ago.

Last model without glued RAM. So it's upgradable and you can install two M.2 drives. One with 2240 length and a full-size 2280 in the main drive bay.

The battery setup is great as well. One internal battery plus an external you can choose depending on your needs. Either small and light for a bit more juice or big and heavy for max runtime.

I got one 6 months ago and couldn't be happier.

You could check out c/datahoarder. They should be able to tell you about brands, reliability, best practices ...

I used this Guide (KVM +qemu) in a previous installation. I'm an intermediate Linux user and got it working without much trouble. Maybe it will fit your use case

"It's unfair to have trans athletes compete with women!"

It's unfair when I play basketball against LeBron, as well.

Bigoted people are making it about competition while holding onto the archaic division between men and women.

They could create other criteria and have 3, 4 ... Separate groups. Making sports much fairer. But this is about oppression, not fairness.

When knowledge is deliberately gated by large entities and the author would give it away for free (scientific papers) is a no-brainer for me. Or when a course requires specific textbooks that costs hundreds of dollars.

I use Auto CPU Freq on my T480 and am satisfied so far.

Neat little guide (Arch, systemd) to set up automatic snapshots when you run a pacman/yay update and the option to chose snapshots in grub during startup. Really useful.

Thanks for the recommendation. Will take a look and see if the extra money is worth it.

Yeah, I was getting desperate 😆

This will never happen. A hospital in a jail? A Republican would never improve healthcare in the prison system.

If you got a Nvidia dGPU I recommend PopOS. It gave me the best energy options and ability to switch between iGPU and dGPU out of the box. It even found new firmware for my T480 and installed it without a hitch.

I'm looking into Proton, Windscribe and AirVPN atm. Travelling the high seas is my main reason for a VPN. In the past I didn't use it enough to switch from Mullvad, which I liked except for their port forwarding switch.

Thanks for the hint.

Sports are divided by gender, because it's easy. It has been done that way for a long time.

But how is a long jump competition between a 1,50m and a 1,90m woman fair?

It's not.

People who want fairness should see past easy binary characteristics. We are tracking hormone levels, muscle mass, body fat and countless other statistics in professional sports. Why can't we divide athletes in 3, 4, or more different groups?

545.29.06 I had the problems for quite some time with different driver versions

I'm enjoying Orchis right now. Kora Icons have been my fav for a while and haven't been replaced yet.
