The banning of books and literal re-writing of history in certain states should be concerning for anyone who realizes what a dark road we're headed down.

Believing that certain folks don't deserve basic rights because of their identity, sexual orientation, skin color, etc. is not an opinion that's acceptable. No one with a brain wants to hear any of that non-sense thankfully!

What is the point of having cheap insurance options if said insurance does not cover or actually do anything? It's worthless junk literally! Instead of taking the insurance you'd be better off pocketing the money and forgoing it all together.

I don't know how you can blame "Obamacare" for medical prices increasing when it is clear that they would have and will continue to rise no matter if "Obamacare" still exists or not. When healthcare is about profits and is a business, whether any of us live or die does not matter to these companies.

The explainer may be sincere; however, it is clear that privacy and an open web are not in Google's interests. They contradict that sentiment in the explainer entirely. There's 0 reason for any one to give them the benefit of the doubt.

The issue isn't that we have no alternative, it's that this feature will basically eliminate those alternatives sadly. You can read more about it here if you haven't, but it's bad.

Two of my favorites that are relatively different (with Spotify links):

• Viva the Underdogs by Parkway Drive: This album was recorded live at Wacken Open Air 2019 and also has a really cool accompanying documentary the band released with the same title. The energy on this album is insane and the band put on an all time performance! I've listened to it repeatedly since its release.

• Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland by Rush: This album was recorded at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH in 2011 on Rush's Time Machine World Tour. This was Rush's first ever live album recorded in the U.S. and is one of their best IMO. They play all the hits and the crowd brings great energy. The full video version is also on YouTube, which is awesome!

Every year I try to revisit some game from yesteryear that I played as a youngster

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1-4, Final Fantasy X, Halo 1, Oblivion, Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey 98', Tekken Tag Tournament, and WCW vs NWO: World Tour are some of my go-tos!

It's on Spotify! I love this album and The Weakerthans! Such a great band, hope they come back one day!

Here's my advice:

• Don't torrent without a VPN, seriously!

• +1 for Mullvad VPN, it's privacy focused and works great!

• Use qBittorrent, it's the standard torrenting software that basically everyone uses nowadays. It's lightweight and reliable.

• Make sure to set up qBittorrent after installing it, go into settings and bind your network interface to your VPN so even if your VPN is off accidentally or gets kicked off somehow you will be safe. You can also setup the "kill-switch" functionality in most VPNs so that it kills qBittorrent if it goes off, but that's not always 100% reliable.

As far as Udemy courses, I've yet to find a good source for them myself, at least any relatively newer courses. I've never tried to find art courses but I'd say using a torrent search engine like Knaben or qBittorrent's built in search functionality.

The fact that Mozilla spends money on political activism and companies involved in things akin to that isn't some big revelation like the article makes it out to be.

It's literally on Mozilla's website in great detail with the overarching goal of a free and open internet, which in the majority of countries requires political activism.

An older game that fits this, which I loved and that ended up not really getting anymore content sadly, was D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die. It's worth a play though IMO.

It's played in episodes and only ever got one "season" of content, so there's a prologue and two episodes to play.

It is not real--currently there are Lemmy apps, which you can use to log on to Beehaw, but no official Beehaw app itself. Some apps I use currently are Connect, Wefwef, and Jerboa.

I'd imagine this was the plan from the get-go or at least a consideration. I don't think they swindled anyone necessarily, they weren't banking on sales with it being on Gamepass, so this makes perfect sense IMO.

They announced that anyone who bought the game will get in-game reimbursements and anyone on Gamepass gets the Ultimate Edition upgrade for free, so that atleast there's that.

My senior neighbor watches YouTube a ton and uses it to listen to music on his laptop. His old laptop recently died and I helped him order a new one and put FireFox with the whole works of adguard, ublock origin, sponsorblock, etc. on it for him and its changed his life! He loves not seeing these dumb ads now!
