Normally you don't even need AUR for that since it's a core package for Arch. Unless Manjaro did something weird, you should be able to install it via pacman.

However I checked Manjaro packages and glib2-devel is the same version with Arch. Maybe try a whole system update before adding new packages?

Looks a bit overkill but sounds like a great laptop.

Last time I saw kernel panic I was on 2.6. I don't think I'll ever see him. :(

It's just an accent colour and can be changed.

Except it won't be their most important data. Either their very first files from their desktop (up to 5 GB), or random 5 GB files (no idea which). Once it's filled quickly, it will start nagging about buying more storage.

I hate those obnoxious Youtube thumbnails.

I also like how Newpipe can open that link.

Sorry but being held responsible for what your ancestors did is bullshit. The very same bullshit as trying to reclaim the land your ancestors had. Both are not mine, it's in the past and I have nothing to do with it.

Also, it is most likely that everyone's ancestors did some bad things. Sad but it is a process in the human history.

For BG3, don't search something about it, just start and play. You don't need to know anything prior, however it's a role-playing game so play accordingly what kind of character you created. You can save-scumming if you want if some desicion you made leads to something bad, though they all the part of the game. Just play and experience.

For games like Overwatch, it isn't complicated at all. It just requires you to play it constantly and learn counter measures just by playing. Learning them is the fun part, overthinking about them not so much.

To be fair when I see "complex game" part, I was kinda expexting some advanced building games, something like Factorio, maybe RimWorld.

Anyway, also you don't have to like any games even if they are overwhelmingly positive titles. Just find what you like and dig in.

That's f*cked up on so many levels

Because you asked about "apps", people are replying with mobile apps. I think you wanted to write "programs" considering the community. Maybe you should edit this

Hahaha, this article mainly sucks.

If they can get away with this instead of total closure, I see this as a save. A weighty one.

Yup, you'll be fine. If a game has a Linux version though, you'll still need to download some portion of it. By the way, just don't use NTFS to play on Linux.

Maybe you need to remember who started all this.

Hint: It was not Ukraine.

February 2022? Hmm, did Russia ever stopped invading neighbour countries?

No.

OsmAnd may have lots of features but it's heavy and clunky. Organic Maps on the other hand is quite light and very fast. If you don't need the some features OsmAnd has, Organic Maps is a way better experience.

You described EndeavourOS if you ask me. It's Arch but preconfigured, so ready to use after install while being as configurable as Arch if you want to go further. Has AUR so you won't have problems finding a program.

Ask "are you sure?" and it will apologize right away.

I think Zuck will suck them.

You don't have to install Gapps though.

It's relative. If you installed everything you need, then it probably isn't bloated. Bloat is something you don't need and keep getting updates. My home server has 300+ packages while my desktop has 900+ packages (cannot tell the exact numbers on mobile). I'm currently on EndeavourOS as well, though I'm thinking about moving to Void.

Manjarno isn't even a good choice for desktops though

Ok hear me out, what I'm gonna say is probably not the thing most people would like to hear but here I go:

To write things down, I use ghostwriter and it does have autosave feature. Sure, it's just a markdown writer however it's great for distraction-free writing too. You can just use ghostwriter to write things and if you still need it in an office document, you can copy-paste it into LibreOffice.

I wouldn't call it hate, more like disapprobation with Canonical's choices. No one have to use Ubuntu, we have tons of distro to choose. If someone wants LTS, you can always go pure Debian way, it's not hard to install as it's used to be (for beginners), or there is Linux Mint Debian Edition. You can easily use flatpaks with these and keep your software up-to-date.

That makes sense. Maybe I'm just old but they are called as programs since punched cards, as well as on Unix, Linux, Windows (until recently apparently).

Not exactly sure but I think the term "application >> apps" started with mobile phones. So, to me they are different. At least that evokes this meaning in my mind. It seems not with younger people though.

Never go for user-submitted / approved by moderator system. I've been in one project like that years ago and it's not gonna work.

I'll make another comment once I get up.

Unless there are vegan ones, no.

Depends on Windows version I guess.

Win XP: XFCE

Win 7: Cinnamon

Win 10/11: KDE

Though you might choose Zorin OS, Ubuntu-based and looks like Windows out of the box.

Apparently people at beehaw don't have downvote button, kinda explains this situation. The very same article on lemmy.ml is at -56 votes (at least that's what seems to me).

Apparently you haven't played FFXIV yet.

I personally use ext4 everywhere but it is recommend to have BTRFS for your OS partition if you take snapshots often.

They detect this from browsers, it's not really accurate. For example, if you're using LibreWolf, they'll detect you as Windows 10.
