Car dealers kill more people than meth.
Car dealers kill more people than meth.
I miss what it was, not what it has become.
They don't sit around at all! They are out there working hard. Suckling the teet of major donors. Pretending they oppose the Republican party.
I have always upvoted comments I disagree with if they are using good arguments. I save downvotes for hate and bad faith.
Chumbawumba Tubthumping.
Can we then give it a tongue so I can be sure I'm clean?
i want all to be literally all. but i also want the ability to block some things everywhere. I enjoy many of the nsfw posts, but have blocked way too many anime style nsfw.
The first Harry Potter was okay, but it just got worse. I'd say the worst was Goblet of Fire. That one should top my list of worst overrated movies.
I have seen this. It was a teacup poodle.
Buying rights to provide telecom service to an area and not actually providing service.
I miss the reddit I loved. Life is not the same anymore. I can't just google for anything reddit and find sources. The community was on a level never seen before or after. I too welcome all the people who made it great. Bots and ads and ads and ad bots can have their wasteland.
I miss my hard drive full of music. Sure some of it was mislabeled, but at least I didn't have to deal with ads.
Good thing they got electable Hillary on the ballot.
I'm a teacher in Flroida and definitely not being paid enough to do it.
I would be happy to see morning people get the shit end of the stick, finally.
Almost every reason given sounds like a description of my home of Florida.
I am a nonconformist American in my 40s. I'm a Florida native and middle school science teacher. I hate perpetually divisive culture and the corruption that drives it. I read mostly non-fiction, such as history and neuropsychology. I have little to no interest in computer tech, anime or video games. I left Reddit last year like many of you.
I am not nearly computer literate enough to understand what all these comments are talking about. But I expected personal bias to be one of the answers.
Bernie would not have been close to losing. Appointing another typical Democrat to represent the party will only result in close elections that can swing either way. Trump took that small margin of a win because he was not your typical candidate.
If either party can choose someone who will stand against the oligarchic trend, then there will be no contest against them. Such a candidate in either of the controlling parties would allow voters to rise above their fear based decisions as well as energize disenfranchised voters.
So yes, I am suggesting she was unelectable for those reasons. A coin flip win is clearly not electability.
I just realized a good analogy. Our two parties are comparable to Nascar in that they are stock cars with little to no room for modification that would make them faster vehicles. Trump won because was giving the middle finger to the other drivers. Bernie was disqualified because he was cheating with rocket boosters on his car.
End FPTP. House of representatives actually representing the people instead of state or party. Senate still representing states but not parties.
How far you can carry ice before it has fully vaporized.
It used to be great for information if you included reddit in the search terms. Instead of google learning from reddit, reddit is now full of ads and bots. I guess google apps will be complete garbage soon too.
I happened to be staying in Key West at the same time as a convention. There absolutely are people who believe they are mermaids.
The only reason I went to McDonald's before covid was because breakfast was available all day.
Just as I opened Lemmy this morning, my first thought was how I used to get news faster on reddit. I feel so uninformed...AND NOW FOR YOUR COMMERCIALS
It got Bush elected. It got Trump elected. It got Biden elected. If you think 50/50 means electable, then you really don't care who wins.
I'm a teacher. They would understand that I educate the young, but would be nowhere close to understanding my students. They would think I teach a few children of the wealthy when I actually teach hundreds from the poorest of families in my area. Including several imigrants who speak a different language and many students with various disabilities.
I am surprised to hear this. I have not had any issues with my Samsung devices. I have a fridge, washer, dryer and television.
Are they Mormon missionaries? I swear they put a bowling lane in their apartments. This is from two different sources. One of which I got to witness myself on several occasions.
Same thing.
"You didn't teach us this."
In Florida, I have heard it from way too many people to feel comfortable. Republicans will say how they are ready if Trump loses. They say it's because there is no way he can lose unless it's all rigged. They believe this will happen. The worst I heard was a guy saying he will shoot anybody he suspects is not on his team. Others were not quite as ready, but definitely as angry and ignorant with the means. Some of the more intellectual I talk to are quick to point out the flaws of Democrats and how that said is more violent because of all the riots.
Living here is scary. It would be a war of ignorance, frustration, and hate against a false enemy. It will be a passionate group of clueless rebels without an enemy based in reality. Anyone could become a casualty in the chaos. These people are anti-intellectual, basing everything on what they call "common sense." What that actually mean is whatever reinforces their anger in the moment is the truth no matter how ignorant or hypocritical.
It feels too real that citizens will be taking up arms. The worst part is not knowing who they will attack since the enemy is all in their heads.
Everything has deceptive language and other types of manipulation. I used to merchandise and learned a lot. Most ads make me angry because of this. Politics is similar but that just makes me sad.
I have never been happy about driving. I probably to turned the radio on and listen to whatever was playing on the local station. Might have been Champaigne with Chris Rock.
I use my public library app for reading too. However I am surprised how limited the selection is. It seems like every book I look for is unavailable online as well as on paper. I guess that's what life is like when you prefer non-fiction.
Hating the state of the union.
It looks like our White Ibis and Wood Storks were crossed.
My lesson planning for this year.
Their crime was being one-dimensional.
I went on chatgpt and said "Write an advertisement that plays on the fears of gen z then suggests they eat a snickers". It returned almost the same as above.
