I like my users to have an interactive experience where they have to select the text in order to read it

You could get a free oracle cloud instance https://www.oracle.com/cloud/free/

Free dns https://freedns.afraid.org/

Then use letsencrypt to get free SSL certificates

Then you'll have a site that is secure and validates correctly with almost all web browsers.

You could run services in oracle cloud, or use ssh or OpenVPN to proxy traffic to your home server, or other providers free tier machines

I'm gonna have to borrow this book

Bloat and coersion from canonical when using Ubuntu.

Also I hate typing mount on my home machine and sifting through a sea of mountpoints.

Please post the link!

Uni astronomy lab redhat machines accepted single user mode arguments in grub. Created a backdoor user with uid 0 and wrote some code to play some bleeps and bloops every night at 2am. Only did this to one machine to add to the mystery

In, out, and ???

Have you factored in your power costs? I never do :P buuut with older machines you get closer and closer to burning enough power to justify a hosting bill.

Blender is the model open source project :P

I'm interested in this as well. Also is anyone using libre accounting or crm software? Gnucash seems legit, I've never used the foss crm stuff but it also seems good from the outside

No, I like living in my nat cocoon so I don't have to worry as much about all the devices on my network. Jk it's turned on, but I don't usually enable it on devices

Mornings

Hey you just reminded me I have one of those! Mines basically a tiny webcam on a stick, works great! ... Now where did I put that thing?

Better apply for a mutable library card now before someone else does

Looks like Ubuntu will be going the way of Reddit

Hmm does Lemmy need search engine optimization? I have no idea how seo works these days :/

Lol bold move. I suspect admin at my school would have accused you of hacking and threatened a bunch of ridiculous shit

Any kind of mechanical work would be easy if you can selectively phase through matter, way better than evading assailants or sneaking around.

No one knows how to use computers! Computers dont even know how to use computers! It's all made up anyways 😅

I'm parting my do

Haha can't fool me my power is 110 :P nbd just a bit of a sad computer when you put the switch to 220 here

This reminds me of how I discovered that building a Linux kernel is actually super easy if you just need to add a few drivers

That's some serious dedication and understanding. I couldn't build a dll until after highschool

Now we all do it for fun and profit on leet code :P

Had to balance out the Christian influence of the usual playlist with the power of Satan. Don't want that pesky government favoring any religious beliefs after all :P

Gotta make them upgrade the whole system instead

Lol I lost one somewhere when I was a kid, miss that watch. It wasn't expensive, Timex slapped the data links stuff into a plastic sports watch.

I guarantee it

My biggest problem with it is forgetting which system I booted into when I use the same desktop environments :P and yeah configs can get out of date and inconsistent but I usually just blow them away since I'm not into customizing my desktop much

This is not the way

F

Truth

😐

I'll take it in for a tune up :P

It means why you mad obviously 😹

Foss software for everything that's a one click install got me. I'm surprised msft doesn't make Winget more visible
