The Lemmy DM is imo actually quite important. If I want to get in touch with someone about a post, nothing more. It is an easy option, and serves a purpose. It isn't imo meant to be used for anything else.

We have hit the critical mass; and that is a cause for celebration. A month ago when I joined, I thought that people would come, post a bit. See the limited content and leave. And I will admit it was painful to use Lemmy back then since a solid 90 percent of posts where about the site or were rips from Reddit. Fingers crossed for the future of Lemmy

This doesn't change the policy and the benefits it will bring in the long run.

It's crap for the delivery drivers though. But longer term isn't forever and at somepoint that wage increase will directly benefit them as well.

I want to remind everyone that Lemmy has had a bot crisis, a while ago I did some research into botted instances and I estimated something like 40% of user accounts are bots. Although this was a while ago so I'm not sure if that is remotely accurate anymore

Many instances will have taken steps to start purging user accounts, at the scale of Lemmy, that downturn could be entirely explained by these bots being removed

Obviously some users will leave but i do feel it's worth noting this fact

Reason and critical thinking is all the more important in this day and age. It's just no longer taught in schools. Some simple key skills like noticing fallacies or analogous reasoning, and you will find that your view on life is far more grounded and harder to shift

Mindustry. Played it on and off for years, abosultely love the game. Way too good consider the fact that it's free, and when I picked it up I expected to get a couple of hours of fun out of it. But at this point it has lasted years. And with the occasional update, I think it will last even longer.

If they had recognised what they had done to piss people off, this post would've done quite alot. If they had said that they fucked up when making the API changes and wanted mods to come help rebuild the API, that alone would've done an impressive amount to lower peoples nerves. They wouldn't have even needed to have acted on the advise. Instead they take zero blame, which imo only pisses more people off.

This was thrown around a couple of weeks before the Reddit migration really kicked off, it appears to be excessively difficult to code. And it also doesn't really fit with the system that Lemmy runs. It's a great idea, but Ive been lead to believe that it is too difficult to create Although people do feel that account transfer would be a nice feature

But I'm going to do a shitty job recommending music, since you listed the artists who do like dnb electro... Which is an area that I'm almost totally clueless. But to take a shot in the dark, UNMD. It's frenchcore techno so it's a bit different. Maybe look at psy techno since it has the same kind of beat whilst keeping some the melodic parts of electro.

Sorry that was awful. But alot of the artists I listen to have really fat melodies which is like the exact opposite of what your looking for. Although I do like some of the artists you listed, so I'm gonna mix those into my playlists. So thanks I guess

I refuse to upgrade past a pixel 4a, because as far as I'm concerned it has everything I need. When my last one broke I just brought another pixel 4a, why? Because they cost like 150 quid second hand on Amazon.

When I have shown the phone to friends and such, I get the same reaction to the price since it looks like a really good phone. And cost significantly less.

There's nothing wrong with those kind of bots But when you take an instance for example granitestate.social, I think that's what it's called, which when I was looking into it had 100,000 inactive accounts sat there doing nothing.

These bots that have been created over the course of maybe a week could be used to spam or brigade instances. Emphasis on COULD, maybe they just sit there. Who knows?

But many instances took to purging idle bot accounts that had been created on their instances and defedrating from instances that had excessive numbers of bots

These idle accounts are hard to detect, so only when they appear in large quantities are they removable.

Just to clear up really I guess, I'm not talking about a Reddit repost bot or twitter scraper, more large amounts of bot spam.

Depends, if you just get a second hand one it's way cheaper, but battery life can suck ass, bit of a gamble. If you get refurbished one, the battery is excellent but that costs a little more at 170 quid So it really boils down to if you wanna take the risk
