unfettered capitalism has not, and will not work except for those already at the top.

So many reddit mods were angry power-hungry assholes. I don't feel sorry for them just as much as I don't feel sorry for reddit's hopeventual collapse. I can't count how many times I had BS moderation enacted, then when I was perfectly civil, usually just asking for basic clarification as to why something was removed, was instantly silenced from further communication with the mods with threats of potential removal from participation in the sub or reddit entirely. I am not alone in this experience.

I run a discord server and freely explain to user that they are welcome to disagree with me, openly and freely, as while I run this unofficial community server about an event I don't own/operate,

The same is for a reddit mod, especially for broad topics and localities.

Unfortunately I do see the potential for similar behavior here in the fediverse. I can't say I know how to address it entirely, but I know I can act the way that's fair to the community of which I am only an administrator, not a ruler nor creator.

What's wrong with last.fm? I've used them since 2007 and imo they're way better than something like Spotify. Lastfm is free.

Reddit will be also used along with it until it’s demise

If people keep using it, it won't die. That's how websites that like work. Stop using reddit.

I have a launch switch and a PC. I've mostly played on PC, and also recently got a steam deck, so add that to the mix. The SD isn't much better than a switch, especially with the translation errors of emulation, but it's still better and a better screen for sure. PC is no contest better. CPU is the bottleneck on performance for the game, so while I have a Ryzen 7, Yuzu barely uses it, at most 30% utilization. My 3060ti is running at almost max, but it's also doing a solid 1440p60 with very little errors. What little graphical inconsistencies there are are massive outweighed by the better resolution, and higher framerate.

For real, the person's name is LitigousEmma. This is one step away from a copyright troll, which imo seems to the the mortal enemy of the idea of FOSS. Did this Emma recognize all the developers of the programming languages they used, or the people who made the computer they worked on, or the pioneers of electronics in general? It's not like Emma took quarks and atoms and turned it into an web aggregator.

That was fixed weeks ago. I've been running it at 1440p60 without any issues. Like legit way better that a switch.

Spotify just shows you want they want you to listen to, just like any other streaming service. I've found more cool music within the past few years thanks to music communities than I ever did from Spotify, not to mention the giant amount of music that isn't even on Spotify to begin with.

the deck can play all of those other systems' games too lol

Ditch Plex and get Jellyfin. Use Symfonium to play your music on your phone.

Idk, I haven't paid a dime in over 12 years and never saw an ad (with blocking). Never received spam or had features removed or shitified. Lastfm is one of the few places to have done it right imo. Don't get me wrong, self hosting is great, but self host the music before you care about the stats

I mean that's fair, but I sold my launch switch because I can play switch games on my PC better than the switch and almost as well on the deck. fair trade for all the other PC games I can run on the deck.

I have a 3060 ti and Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which, while a good CPU, doesn't matter because the performance of the game itself is bottlenecked for CPU usage. 1440p60 constant. I paid less than $400 for the GPU from EVGA's B-stock.

The radio is not an answer. I stopped listening to it in 2006 when I installed a new car radio that had an AUX input for my iPod. I recently had to use a car that didn't have BT audio and was forced to use FM. It was horrific. The same playlists from 2006, but with longer and more frequent ads. I tried every station I could find and it was the same deal.

I mean, it's a couple of files you drop in a folder. Sorry if that seems like a lot of work for you to play a game at better quality than the machine it was made for.

Symfonium has been amazing! The only thing I was sad to lose from Plex when I switched to the superior FOSS alternative Jellyfin was Plexamp. There was a Finamp app but it was missing a lot and didn't work too well. Symfonium on the other hand has been a dream come true.

maybe in the UK, but US radio is trash.

Game looks cool, but I can't stand this guy. He's speaking as if this is some third eye opening transcendental art piece. The... pausing between... words as if you should focus... on them because they're important and special... is really annoying... because it's just... a video game. It's like he's trying to show us some deep wisdom from a gameplay trailer.

why does that matter?

If there isn't a cartridge then it's just a ROM not a game imo. I know it's pedantic to specify but it matters when there are people who've released modern GB cartridges

Oh sure, but it's also by design of the emulator and based on the machine it's emulating. my point is that while I have a BIS CPU for AM4 gaming, it's not what is making the game run well and it could continue to run well on a much more modest CPU.

So I said 1440p60 (~2k) and then you complain about running it at fucking 8k?! C'mon man. Yes, at 1440p I had no slowdowns in either location.

You can fix the color with software mods, 60hz refresh is better, the resolution is a bit higher (though if you're emulating a switch game, you're going to run it at the switch resolution, and it's a bigger screen than the launch switch I have. The OLED might be a different topic

1.1.2

Framing it as hoops you have to jump through compares it to hard work, or some feat you have to accomplish and fully ignoring the actual work folks put into the emulation software, and the mods themselves. It's disrespectful to the devs.

then buy a switch. Free/easy/good, pick two.

I mean, it was easy for me too, but the other commenter was complaining about having to jump through hoops as if they are the ones writing the code. It set me off as it's disrespectful af to the devs of the main project, and the mods.

It's hard to tell what easy means for a lot of folks. I assumed that someone asking for it to be easy couldn't spend a few mins checking google to see what was involved.

Considering I don't really think they did the other 3 times, I'm going to say probably not. To me the series ends with Devil's Hands. The rest is fine once a year, but it's not on an almost continuous loop like S1-5

Out of the box it'll perform as well as the switch it's emulating. No, it's won't perform better than the system it's emulating OOTB as that's not the goal. You can get better performance than the system it emulates by copying some simple files to a folder, but that seems to be too much work for you as those would be hoops you have to jump through, as if this is some sort of bureaucracy you have to fight through.

If you just wanted to know how to do it, you can ask without being disrespectful to those who put the time into making it possible for you.

ugh, self promotion by sharing your own website. barf

my magazine

and thus the entire issue with reddit. The glory of the fediverse is that there can be competition. You do not work for Disney, you do not own Disney. The community is not yours because you got to it first. If you want to own a Disney forum, start your own website.

We should not be allowing FB/IG to gain their foothold on the work of other people, yet again, so they can eventually take control once it's too late to stop them. Especially not because it would help your own ego and foothold on a community you do not own.

Copyright is the enemy of freedom and knowledge. What if Einstein copyrighted E=MC^2? Emma didn't create the software, they just figured out how to make it.

This isn't reddit, read the whole post before suggesting just another streaming service.
