“Cotton got so mad he started talking about himself in the third person.

“Mr. Cotton says the chairman needs to rethink his decision,” said Cotton, as his name came up in the roll call. “That’s what Mr. Cotton says.””

Lmao imagine getting you mad about the same tactics you supported, that you refer to yourself in the 3rd person.

Instead of mandatory military service like some countries have, people should have mandatory public work for two years. Whether it be labor, clerical/administrative, etc, it could help young people learn a new skill, get guaranteed work to get the started, and could potentially save a ton in taxes. It would also create the opportunity to start getting caught up some things that keep getting swept under the rug like bridge maintenance , etc.

Not many other ways to make 1.1 million people really angry, on top of all else. Not everyone there is a terrorist, but they all have to pay the price for the actions of those whose are.

Don’t really align with either Democrats or Republicans, but it’s sad and angering to see a politician seemingly unfit for office holding on to the last bit of power possible. Decent people would recognize their time is up and let someone else take the limelight. This goes for both sides.

I posted an archive link in another comment here. But no it’s not Trump being accused of murder. It’s some other guy, Joseph Carl Roberts, that “was once touted by the Trump administration as a poster child for the purported excesses of the #MeToo movement and the reckoning over sexual assault at American colleges.” Now he killed someone and has been charged for it.

Hekate for sure. Goddess of magic, necromancy, the crossroads. Plus you get doggies to hang out with you all the time!

Yeah because it’s that easy right?! Dr tells me I have cancer, I’ll just not accept the diagnosis because it’s unfair. Problem solved, cancer gone!

Lockpicking maybe? Just recently got into it as a bucket list hobbies but it’s actually really entertaining. They sell practice cutaway locks that fit easily in one hand as you fidget about with the lock picks.

I think the same can be said for a lot of fields. E.g., just because someone’s an excellent architect doesn’t make them a good animator by default.

There’s also so many variations on the types of programming. Maybe a mathematician might be better suited for data science rather than frontend stuff. And even then, each person is different and has their own set of skills part from whatever their formal training is.

What I think makes good programmers is having the ability to bash your head against your desk while debugging, but still walking away at the end of the day loving the job and problem solving. Persistence and creativity go a long way in programming.

I might’ve came across it from a post here on Lemmy, but this website is great for music discovery. It lets you listen to music by decade and country via a neat map UI.

Yeah and actually posted 3 days ago explaining a bit about what’s going on.

Having the kind of habits you need to keep yourself safe and private online.

Blows my mind how many people don’t consider or sometimes even reject the idea of things like password managers because “it’s too complicated”.

He’d be pushing 82 by then. Not sure how well the next 4 years will treat him, but the odds are in our favor.

Communication and understanding. First marriage, there were tons of fights and the anger that lingers on from that trickles into other conversations that would normally be harmless.

This time around, been my by SO for 3.5 years and not a single fight. We’re clear with each other when we don’t like something said we bring it up. And constantly bringing up our honest thoughts and feelings.

As far as understanding, we took the approach of throwing all cards on the table right at the beginning, expressing our ways of handling things, good/bad habits, all of it. Left no room for unexpected surprises later on.

I was just starting to learn Unity for a game I’ve been wanting to make for years. I don’t how I feel continuing with it knowing that at anytime they can pull shit like this.

Consciousness might not even be “attached” to the brain. We think with our brains but being conscious could be a separate function or even non-local.

Looks like Trump’s about to find himself having to ask for a lot Supreme Court back scratching after what he helped set up for them. Let’s see if they indeed scratch back.

This seems to happen with popular posts/news here because they’re each posted on a multiple instances, or different magazines within an instance.

Most apps give you the ability to filter by keywords. I have anything Elon related filtered.

They’ll say the same thing every time Trump suffers the consequences of his actions.

This is the way.

That it’s the OS they’ve been using daily for whatever they need to accomplish on a computer, as opposed to just using it occasionally.

Sounds like either they’re just being lazy and trying to avoid generating a privacy policy, or they’re up to no good and trying to be vague on purpose. I lean towards the former.

If they don’t have ads, that means there would be no cookie tracking which is what I think they’re trying to explain. But if they have login available, they might still use cookies to remember who you are.

Privacy policies can be generated in a few minutes online. And nowadays with GDPR, you would think it’s a no brainer to properly let your users know what you’re collecting.

While I don’t disagree with you there, your comment just reads as an auto-assumption without reading the article even if that wasn’t the case. Him having an embarrassing year so far and this specific issue working for him are two separate things.

Let’s see the mental gymnastics on this one, because I know quite a few hardcore republicans that loooove themselves some weed.

The Good Liars give us a glimpse of just how dumb some people are. This was great. “Our special snowflake..” 😂

You should release it. It’s meant to be free.

Not sure if you work from home, but if so, canned chicken can go a long way. You can make quick quesadillas, chicken salads, make rice the day or morning before and mix that with some sautéed canned chicken with olive oil and seasonings of your choice.

Another quick go to for me is gluten free nuggets and chicken patties. IMO they’re even tastier than the other common options. A little pricier though but well worth it.

I know there was a subreddit or something that explained how to format the description from the context of Reddit. It would be cool if someone came up with a format to use as the standard for this here.

I tried to get it to straighten the hair out a bit but that’s as good as I could get it. Uncanny resemblance.

The colors are awesome. This might inspire my next office lighting color scheme.

Harp. One with pickups so I can chain up some stomp pedals to it.

Is your keyboard broken and replacing now for meow? And if you want to be an American, you work on getting citizenship and take an oath to the country. Just like many other countries. Citizenship is not something you identify with. And the only way be “semi-American” is with dual citizenship. It’s not something you identify as like genders.

It’s another thing to be a citizen of a country and not necessarily be proud of it sometimes. But that doesn’t make you semi-whatever.

At my last company, we used the scaled TBD. For personal projects I do the same. It’s honestly really nice. Not having to worry about merging issues between a dev branch and main branch was probably the biggest benefit. The code base also felt more accessible to the team. Cherry-picking a particular commit that a teammate worked on that’s been merged but I needed on my feature/bug branch was also painless.

Was on VSCode, tried switching to neovim, ended up with JetBrains Goland. I might try neovim again but getting everything setup and learning new shortcuts was starting to eat up my work productivity. With Goland I have everything I need in one place.

It probably didn’t help that at the same time, I also tried to learn to use a moonlander with a different keyboard layout.

😂 thank you for the clarification. Took a gamble on the comment and lost.
