There is a red line. The west keeps saying over and over again that they must defend themselves within international law.

The problem is that they either ignore the red line or deny that it was ever crossed.

That’s what I’m thinking. The homeowner installed it to fake meeting code.

Existing games built on Unity will also be hit with Runtime Fees if they meet the thresholds starting January 1.

How can you have a deal in place and just say “you’re giving me more money” and think that that’s ok?

I am altering the deal, pray I don’t alter it any further. - Vader

I like the scope creep there:

  1. Programming language (singular)
  2. All programming languages and related knowledge
  3. Add in AI, ML and data structures

I don’t see the problem with this search result. You searched for Lemmy clients and the first link gives a list of Lemmy clients for Android. It happens to be on Reddit but it does match your search.

Even if it was true, why is he carving his name into anything that he doesn’t own!

I think that it was the other way around. He made money with web cam girls, expanded into human trafficking and then started selling advice about how he made his money.

Everything that we do has an impact on the environment. We need to choose the options that have the least impact which is not oil.

The one that hate as a sysadmin is how Microsoft Defender is always telling me to disable Chrome features such as continue running in the background, third party cookies and password manager but never recommends those actions for Edge.

Title case sucks. I don’t know why we use it.

When names are not familiar to you it takes a few goes to realise that her name is Ju Ae, not Ju Ae May or Ju Ae May Be.

They seem to have things backwards.

You don’t set expected sales based on the cost of development. You set the cost of development based on the expected sales.

How come they can only fit “Super Mario” on 2 but they can fit “Super Mario Bros” on 14?

about a thousand subreddits have gone private.

That number ended up being more than 8000 and there are still more than 7000 in private or restricted mode. Although they are starting to come back online now.

He's right though - it will pass. The question is, will Reddit be the same once it does pass? Will enough moderators and contributors leave to reduce the quality of the content?

Personally, I don't really care anymore. I'm not going back if I can't use a third party app and I haven't had a problem using Lemmy for the past two days instead. I just need to find the best communities for me which will take time but I'm sure that it'll be a good replacement.

If you have an idea of what you want before the sale starts and know how much the standard price is you can still be lucky and get a good deal. You just have to be careful not to get sucked in to a non deal.

For example, I was looking out for an Apple Watch. There is a good sale on them but they only have a limited set of body and strap combinations. I don’t want any of the straps on offer so it negates almost all of the discount as I’d be paying £50 for a strap that I wouldn’t use.

At work, we subscribe to Microsoft Defender so that we get a centralised view of potential security issues on people’s computers.

It’s always saying that there’s something wrong with Chrome and it never alerts about the same issues that are almost certainly a problem with Edge.

That’s mildly infuriating too.

It’s difficult to say whether someone is wearing what they are wearing through choice or because it is demanded of them.

I agree with you, demanding that they wear something else is not the answer.

Yeah, I get what they mean but it doesn’t work as written. They mean that it is “designed to fail as a measure to protect workers“

Not really but thanks for your concern.

There was a piece on a fairly recent Smashing Security podcast that said that some car manufacturers are sending data to the insurance companies anyway.

She had to get a second job and move home because she couldn’t afford the rent on her own home. Because a global company didn’t pay her on time. That’s pretty fucked up.

I don’t get something about the article. They are saying that there is a labour shortage so they need to do this but they also say that the employers have all the power.

Usually, a labour shortage means that the employees have the power so you’d have thought that they’d have been able to tell the employers to piss off when they try to increase their hours.

Yes, that's how it works. It's like how sometimes during road construction, the construction crew might route you into a different traffic lane. Doesn't mean that lane will remain safe to drive on forever.

That’s a bad analogy. The construction crew direct you to a safe place while they repair the rest of the road. There’s nothing being repaired in Gaza. It’s just being systematically destroyed.

I think that it’s been long enough for them to own it for themselves now.

Otherwise we could just keep on saying that we got it from our ancestors and not strive to change.

Won’t autocomplete fail if you do “cd d” and then try the autocomplete?

Or is that what you mean by “decent” auto-completion?

I recently had a complaint form refuse my complaint because it was too rude!

There wasn’t any bad language in it at all. I removed the sentence "It's now more than two months since the accident and I would have expected the repairs to have been completed by now” and that let it through - sensitive or what?

They say in almost every story on the BBC News TV channel that talks about Hamas that they are designated a terrorist organisation by the UK government.

I was going to say “up to” £115k but it looks like most of them claim as close to the maximum that they think that they can justify.

I’d have thought that the costs would go down year after year as the financial impact on their lives went down over time. Theresa May’s is going up for some reason and why the hell are Tony Blair, John Major and Gordon Brown still claiming the full amount!?

Every week or two there’s a new ceasefire deal on the table and then Netanyahu says something to the tune of “but we’re not stopping until Hamas is gone”.

It seems that the negotiators don’t have the authority to negotiate for anything other than “you stop shooting now and we’ll stop shooting when you’re dead”.

I think that it’s the red arrow that does it. So much scarier than a green one.

And remove the evidence that the door was ever open even though everyone knows that the door was open, the evidence existed and where the evidence was kept.

STFU and play your autistic racing game

That’s a toxic comment:

  1. You’re telling a group of people to shut the fuck up
  2. You’re using a minority group as a derogatory comment

If you can’t understand how each of these things is toxic then I don’t know how to explain it to you.

It wasn’t rigged it just didn’t match what the headline implied. It wanted to show that people who have recently been made homeless can recover from the bad situation if given the means to do so.

In fairness, IMDB is right there on the first info card.

I like how page 1 says not to wear masks because they are bad put page 2 implies that you must wear a mask because getting the vaccine won’t allow you to not wear masks.

Yeah. It does look too tight for the poor thing to sit or lie comfortably.

I think that was their point. 8 rockets has zero chance of aiding Hamas’s war effort so launching them only helps Netanyahu’s argument that they need to continue their war effort. Sending the rockets from Rafah makes it even worse when the world is saying that Israel should stop attacking Rafah.

I imagine that the model was created by elite people and so didn’t actually fail but behaved as designed.

It means as much as it does for Isreal who also doesn’t participate in the ICC.

Technically, any American who is convicted (I’d imagine it could be President Biden and Anthony Blinken who they would try to prosecute) cannot travel to ICC countries otherwise they’d be arrested.

Even if they were tried and convicted nobody would do anything about it.

Can you imagine the shit show that would ensue if someone tried to arrest the US President as he visits their country.
