The problem is so severe, in fact, that the aforementioned translation layer had to be updated specifically to handle Starfield as an exception to the usual handling of the issue.

That one is on apple tho.

Hoping for more EU intervention on those tools.

Now if only torrenting wouldn't mean an automatic 500€ invoice from a very specific law firm in my country :(

If a website has a German version, try using that. By law every web page here must have an (pretty much) directly findable button to cancel your account. Even when you are logged out. It normally is positioned in the footer of the page. Search for "kündigen" on the page and fill in the form.

Note that not all pages still do this. But normally even just threatening to sue should add it, as they really wouldn't be able to go against this in court. Tho crunchyroll does not seem to have this. Maybe I should create an account and do some trolling.

Or just use GDPR and write a cancellation mail. I am pretty sure in most countries they need to accept it. Do not forget to add a deadline of a few business days.

Oh no it isn't. Walldorf Frommer is well known to send "Unterlassungerklärungen" which you have to answer. It will go to court if you do not work against this. You normally need your own lawyer to defuse what they send you.

Also, if you are in court, there is the concept of "Störerhaftung" which is a wet dream for everyone suing you for copyright infringement. They will have your IP and the time, thus your address. Now you either have to name someone who did do it, or if you can't you will automatically be liable.

This isn't any intimidation, it is one company using the laws in place here to fuck you majorly over. There are a lot of stories about this and if you seed on any public tracker you WILL get a letter.

Good joke. Investors will see wasted financial potential and make valve do it.

When you have external money you now also have away part of a platform. And the investors don't care. Make number big fast. Nobody there is caring about long term

Fun fact: bunny fights for dominance can be similar. They will just sit there nose-to-nose. Whoever starts grooming the other first looses.

Tho, they are capable of much more aggressive fights unlike these fish.

"Piracy is not a service problem and can only be curbed by utilising SecuRom and denuvo drm. This also will make the game less compatible in the future so that people will also buy your remasters."

Something along those lines it was?

This is like the 12th week or so I heard that. Tho if people repeat it every week they will be right eventually!

Edit: This comment was written hours before the official announcement. Never had my comment milk spoil THAT fast.

Yep. Installed it, started it, saw it is basically the website in an embedded browser, uninstalled it.

Like, come on, you have a web version. Why should I use an extra application to view a website. This seems like a cheap excuse for a desktop app.

A 16 year old with a RGB-as-fuck PC could probably do that

That just sounds like standard scaling. No big Plattform is running on one server with one instance

Denen soll ne ente aus'm Arsch kriechen.

That stream has been going for quite some time and especially before the GN vid

You need to be crazy to crack denuvo. It is a requirement because the software is also crazy.

Yes. The full USB-4 spec has that.

That being said: thunderbolt is still great for verification. If it says thunderbolt you exactly know what it can do and that it should work as expected. USB-4 will be plastered on anything that can do only plain usb4 speeds.

How the fuck? That sounds illegal. How can you be held liable for others people bullshit?

I am at a loss

The Fairphone is always just such an odd decision for me. On one hand, I would love to have a phone with long support and swappable parts. On the other hand, I hear so many complaints about the software and wait for major version updates that I am not enterily sure if it really is a good buy.

The price is pretty okay, a bit less than 100€ per expected usable year. This is in line with other manufacturers. Also, the biggest bull of the expenses probably comes from the way the manufacturing and materials are checked.

Is there any sense in installing a custom ROM on the phone to get rid of the software issues?

Or maybe there will be less issues this time? From what I heard some of the problems where caused by Qualcomms support windows being closed and the company actually updating everything themself. Which might be solved by using a SoC with somewhat decent support now.

Better than apple doing whatever the fuck they want. Imagine Microsoft would have only allowed IE based browsers on windows. We would still be in the IE days, because why put work into something when you can just force people to use it?

At least with chrome it is used because it is a pretty competent engine.

You strip them was less easily. Also, better grip on the screw=more torque

Bear sex - the most important part of baldur's gate 3. Ruined for thousands.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Looking at what we get out of mobile CPUs today, when I have a laptop with an i7-7700HQ from 2017 that has.... 4 cores/8 threads and is turboing to somewhere in the mid 3GhZ range. With a 45W TDP.

The last 5 years have been such a turbo charging for CPUs

Yeah I still remember back when MS just yeeted all this shit out. Basically killed their sales for their generation. And gave Sony that absolute banger of a trolling chance.

Well, I may be stupid

Or the Google Play Store, which has a low one-time fee iirc.

For that money I can get 10 to 12tb of HDD storage. So not really useless.

Boo, u suck!

Was that one good?

Luckily they allow to revert this change. Switching the display refresh rate down (esp to 40hz) brings some visual artifacts with it. So I normally just let it sit at 60 and pull the framrate limit to 30.

I had a small laught when seeing that the UI is basically Spotify. Listening to YT music "via Spotify" is such a delightful thought.

But I will probably try it out. The YTM web interface runs like ass on my laptop (Takes about 3 seconds just to skip to the next song), so this might make the UI usable by just plain replacing it.

Coming from Gmail the proton search is a lot worse. Not unmanageable, but by far not as good.

Depends on where you are. Depending on country it can range from no one giving a shit, over to getting letters from your ISP, over to getting smaller fines, up to getting railed for your life.

I am pretty sure that already happened. Any bigger (or even many smaller) companies have disaster recovery plans if one of the higher ups dies or vanishes. There is a high likelihood that the next valve leader is already fixed or at least a Gremium to get to there.

It just says 5 for me

As far as I know, Fairphone uses "conflict free" materials. This is more expensive and harder to get than just searching for the cheapest seller of any material (e.g. lithium) and just going with them. In theory this should help against child or prison labor.

Additionally, they aim to pay everyone in the chain a living wage. Which is also more expensive than just using foxxcon to produce as cheap as possible and telling them to "just add more suicide prevention nets".

This is a good thing, but makes cost go up quite a bit I would assume. Additionally, the SoC is probably more expensive than the Snapdragon equivalent, as it is build "for industrial uses", which normally commands a premium.

Let's add some :)

Man I wanna drive one of those on the autobahn. Probably would take on a Porsche or something with that weight to power ratio.

I think you can do SSL/TLS depending on the server. At the end of the day the encryption lies below the application layer, so somebody probably implemented something.

Sounds like a pretty normal thing. A few years back, when the difference was still worth it, I also drove from Germany to Luxembourg to fuel up. And I think a lot of Germans close to Poland do the same with Poland.

If you live at the border, why not drive an additional 10 minutes to save some money?
