For some unconscious reasons, I picked up on Richard Dawkins as my fatherly figure, although he is the age of my grandfather now and I never met him inperson. A browser made with native Java/Kotlin which then has to setup an environment for running HTML, Javascript and CSS, is obviously going to be slower and heavier on the battery, than an app made in just Java/Kotlin
You don't realise it because you have a fast enough phone probably. My 5 year old cheap ass phone can't run Voyager or other PWAs without major stutters, but Jerboa works perfectly fine

Xioami Redmi Note 7 Pro with a Snapdragon 675 released in 2019. Bang for buck and pretty capable phone. Almost smooth most of time for everyday tasks. It has started showing it's age but I've managed to control it with a stock Android custom ROM
