*Why American Teen Hate Android Phones

Also I'm very glad how Lemmy is a lot less US defaultism than Reddit is. It's pretty tiring having to constantly hear about Democrats vs Republicans, or green bubbles, or Nissan cars bad, you get the point.

Knowing Google I wouldn't be surprised at all if they do remove Play Books and fuck over all the customers, just for that 1% increase in profits lol.

Simple Gallery, no nonsense gallery app that's pretty fast and has a built-in image editor.

Same, Garmin has made me swear off from owning any modern smartwatches. I mean having to charge every other day is just nuts lmao

One might say that this website has some of the best union behind it, perharps on the entire planet.

Short term profit mate. It's all they care at this point in my opinion.

Fuck u/spez!

Price and durability. I don't know, I can maybe get one eventually if I really want to, but shelling out like ~$1500 USD for a unproven screen design is pretty yikes to me. Plus, since my LG V60 is still serving me so well I really see no good reason to replace it.

This is (mostly) only in car subreddits, but actual car owners getting insulted and ridiculed for their new car choice by teenagers. I've seen this before on Reddit and this triggers me to no end.

Mine is probably pretty boring compared to most setups here, but whatever.

Smart Launcher 6.3 beta with the Alexis Pie iconpack.

Gesture, it's a lot more elegant than navbars UI wise.

I haven't noticed any toxicity on the lemdro.id instance at all, what am I missing lol?

Even my old LG V60 also comes with it. Fuck Meta!

Dead only in North America lol. I imagine it'll continue to be sold in Japan just fine.

My 5 something years old Fenix 5s still works great with like, a week and a half battery still lol. So yes, it's just that brands like Garmin don't advertise as much as Apple's.

c/cars might be tiny in comparison to r/cars but imo post quality here is a lot better, and Lemmy in general seems to attract tech users more than car guys from what I've seen.

It's also a good thing that on this platform, there's no teenagers commenting stuff like "are you a Honda salesman 😭😭😭" or "are you 40 💀" just because you buy a practical family car instead of that WRX STI.

Oh no, a bowtied VF. Not even Lemmy is safe from them anymore :(

But for real though I'm just glad to see any Commodore here lol.

Only in the States, just even the EcoBoost Mustang would easily be a $100k car in most of the world.

But yeah most of the car enthusiasts are still on r/cars from what I've seen and imo, Lemmy does a much better job at attracting the Fuck Cars demographics lol

Yeah that still depends on the instance in which posts came from, imo here on c/Android it's already a lot less US centric than r/Android was.

Also I just noticed something...that dealer quoted ~$150 USD each for a coolant/brake flush. I'm not American, but that screams ridiculous AF and straight up scam.

Maybe it's just me but I'm surprised that Apple isn't taking more of a stance regarding EU's new regulation on smartphone batteries, especially considering how greenwashing-loving and anti-repair Apple is.

Do you have any plan to ban picture only posts like what r/cars did before?

Quite mixed on the idea of foldable phones.

On one hand, they're pretty cool and I especially the Z Flip/razr format for its nod to the flip phone era and the portability.

On the other, their durability is er...questionable and there's no telling if the screen will last as long as that of traditional smartphone's. Oh and plastic screen means scratch galore, too.

Also good idea with these post mods, I see a lot of high quality comment here! It's starting to feel like the Reddit of old times here, well without the toxicity I suppose.

I'mm just glad that it doesn't spread outside America lol. Fuck that bullshit.

Me here, fuck u/spez🖕

I'll be furious if that happens to my phone someday. F

AU Falcon of course, there's no other choice /s

This was very much the case on Reddit from what I've seen.

How is that not a valid metric for choosing a phone? The way I see it, it's not really any different to choosing a phone for its camera performance or battery life.

In the city where I live? Coverage from rain or cold weather, plus some privacy...and not much else really. Traffic jams scare me away from seriously considering a car for daily commute if I'm being honest.

Lol no, AE86s are both fixed and pop up and these designation are used for different engine/chassis. The AE86 gets 1.6L 4A-GE, meanwhile AE85 gets the weaker 1.5L 3S-GE.

I'd still install some proper high beam lights if I were you, just in case.

cries in being 21 and almost turning 22

Damn, F OP. How the hell did this pass QC in the first place?

I'm 21 and even I feel old lol

Damn that's probably the best analogy here so far.

I'll assume that this is for the US market. So here I go: the Mitsubishi Mirage.

The Mirage is, well to be frank, very unrefined; but if you want a cheap (cheapest, even) basic transportation that's reliable, fuel efficient, new, and has a warranty, it's hard to beat the Mirage.

In my opinion though, you do need quite a bit of tolerance for bad NVH if you're spoiled by luxury brand cars, since the Mirage's NVH is just plain bad. I rode shotgun with the G4 in Saigon recently, and even at just ~50 km/h you could tell that it's very unrefined in terms of road noise isolation.

Only by American standards man, your V6 S197 is way faster than like 90% of cars in rest of the world lol.

S197 Mustang's exterior is timeless, CMV
