As the video says, it doesn't provide all the functionality that the Analogue Pocket has, but it's a very good alternative for a decent price!

I hope the trend grows. Amazon needs to be abolished, divided, whatever it takes to destroy their monopoly.

Yeah, we know...

Yeah, I hate that Analogue releases are limited. If you miss the window, you either missed it forever or are willing to pay obscene prices on eBay 😞

I would hope whatever team was behind the new Earthworm Jim would get to keep working on it for real consoles/PC, but probably no...

I've been using KDE Neon for years on my personal laptop and would definitely recommend 👍

Clementine. I sometimes use the Navidrome web UI too.

How come it's called Walkman when it doesn't play cassettes?

The article poising this as an analogue competitor seems naive.

If you upload a video to YouTube, it has to have a clickbait title 😒

I learned awk when I was studying and I still use it every now and then. It's one of those tools that come in really handy at times. I work in Ruby, but there's still times when scripting or just wanting to process some text when I end up using awk because it makes sense.

It would help if you tell us where you are located geographically and what specifically is wrong with it that needs repairing.

Yeah, I wish people checked it out before voting. It's amazing!

The Amazon listing says:

  • Bluetooth (for Android only), 2.4G wireless, or wired connectivity
  • Compatible with Windows and NEOGEO mini via 2.4G adapter/USB cable, and Android via Bluetooth

I don't understand why they didn't make it compatible with Switch and other consoles 8Bit-Do usually supports.

I'll gladly check out any books you've written. If you think you can do so much better than Doctorow, it must be really good stuff!

Nice! I've always wanted a Famicom AV, they look super cool.

I'll add a recommendation for Retro Recipes, I find it pretty chill and wholesome.

After a long time of going to the Analogue website and looking at the Pocket, I ended up ordering one. I usually play on my GBA, but the Analogue Pocket is really promising as the best device to play the original GB/GBC/GBA cartridges!

☝️ This. Their cartridges are mostly retro compilations from classic arcade companies and 8/16 bit home computers and such,

I remember playing this on a friend's Lynx and I would love to play the Surf game on that! I really enjoyed it at the time. Later I'd play the DOS port and thinking "this is not as fun as I remembered", but I'm not sure it was an issue with the port itself or that the game wasn't that good to begin with 😅 I should check it out again...

You should check out the short story "Sleepover" by Alastair Reynolds.

Cool! Other interesting retro gaming musicians on Bandcamp:

I love Marvel Vs. Capcom and I didn't really play the second one much. This is a day one purchase for me on the Switch!

Thanks for the explanation, it was just a joke.
