Being proud of not knowing things, and having no desire to change that.

I was confused at first, as this is what real Mozzarella looks like.

Why is being gay bad news? Aren’t we supposed to be past that?

I‘m not questioning the data, but this whole „article“ is advertising to sell an ETF to invest into this trend.

It’s a bone sticking out, but not that bone.

Probably a femur or humerus.

No, that would be your parents‘ task.

Someone convinced me to study computer science 20 years ago. The career possibilities with good money and easy work have put the rest of life on easy mode (for now). Even meeting my wife and having my family would never have happend without that decision.

The latest was „Call me maybe“. I’m not mad, that song slaps.

My picks came easy:

Diablo 2

Half Life 2

Witcher 3 (got me back into adult/dad gaming two years ago)

Blizzard and Westwood got me hooked as kid:

Dune 2, WarCraft 2, StarCraft, C&C Red Alert

Not really, if you’re in Barcelona.

You don’t have to use it, but aluminum salts are not really cancer-causing:

Exactly what usually do as soon as I’m caught up. See the theories and missed connections for TV and book series.

I hope this will eventually also kick off here. For tech news, memes and doomscrolling lemmy is already full enough for my taste, but the casual users deep in fandoms have not arrived, yet, at least not in scale.

Playing through the Quake 2 Remaster with a nostalgic feeling. Now, having kids, I realize that I should not have had access to that at 13 yo. Distribution channels were different in 1997.

3,5-5k€ depending on size and finish. My sister has a 45cm one in their kitchen.

Yeah, I fully understand their benefit to make better use of renewable energy sources. But they are not net-generating power, so their inclusion in the graph is still somewhat misleading.

Our accounts are the same age.

I did the „convert 3 years of prepaid Xbox Gold into Game Pass Ultimate“ trick. That way I paid 100€ (3x33€ for Gold+ 1€ to convert to GP) flat for three years of Game Pass, which is an incredible deal.

I don’t know what I will do when the prepaid time runs out. I’m enjoying the content, but before I was quite happy with heavily discounted games. I don’t need to play on day one.

My favorite example is still The Wire (or even before that Twin Peaks).

A more recent example is Dark.

Insisting things like tax returns or household maintenance should be taught in school.

The goal of Education is not to train you to fit into the system you happen to grow up in, but should provide the foundation (litaracy, STEM, art …) and awaken the curiosity in yourself to become lifelong learner. That will develop society, and not a bunch of drones doing their tax returns and changing tires every season.

I‘m quite enjoying it.

It’s on Gamepass if that’s relevant to you.

Thumbs up for the Silo series. Even though it’s not in outer space, many other boxes tick: multi-generation, environmental systems, spoiled planet …

I paid 500€ for a Xbox Series X and three years of Game Pass Ultimate, and as I said twice before:

I‘m quite enjoying it.

Yeah, that song stood the test of time (at least the test of a decade).

High on Life?

Witcher 3:

  • NPCs have at least some rude remarks for you, but a good number also have hints and background info hidden in their dialogue.
  • You should eat to heal, but on the lowest difficulty setting this is not required anymore. Just meditate and everything is refilled.
  • You can explore different landscapes and their flora and fauna, but you can also go to the towns and cities and checkout their sociological patterns. The settings even change after you meddle with higher politics in the main and side quests.

If you prefer something besides swords and monsters maybe (haven’t played it myself) Cyberpunk 2077.

Another one I have started (but far from finished) is Mass Effect. In my first sessions I was overwhelmed by the many dialogue options and factions present in the citadel.

Right now I’m mainly playing Starfield, have started Alan Wake remastered and only quickly tested Forza Motorsport.

Before Starfield came out I played through some of the Game Pass Library: AC Origins, A short Hike, Bramble, Quake II, Lego Starwars, Lego City Undercover, Planet of Lana, Tunic, lots of Witcher 3, A Plague Tale Requiem, High on Life, Starwars Jedi Fallen Order and many more.

An optimistic view (without any backing or real reason): Maybe Apple filed the patent to prevent others from implementing such a feature without IP issues.

Tunic all the way!

iPhone and iOS because I’m used to it, have other gadgets from the ecosystem (MacBook, iPad, Watch) and my employer prefers iOS and well supports macOS.
