@Kwaker76 tldr defederation is disconnecting from the rest of the fediverse (or whatever specific instances you don't want to talk to). I think there are tiers to it but that's the gist.

Some people are salty but beehaw defederated from sh.itjustworks and Lemmy.world as a temporary stopgap until better modtools are available to prevent getting harassed.

Hey, testing, can anyone from Beehaw see this? I'm from kbin. I like Beehaw's categories so far but I wanted a federated instance to see how it feels as I adjust to the fediverse. Kbin is not defederated from beehaw, right?

Despite some of the... angry comments I think beehaw made the right decision for now. Moderation tools are important, particularly in places like this.

I get no boosts, mostly upvotes, but it only shows my one downvote ;p Help, I'm being attacked!

It does seem like a minimal issue compared to the rest. Hopefully it'll be tweaked soon enough!

I never had posting anxiety because I stuck mostly to small subs but I despised how automod could just do that. That said, it would be cool if we had a (smaller) automod here, before things get out of hand. We don't need bots and trolls to ruin everything.

@brunox unfortunately it doesn't have similar tools as of yet but I imagine they'll be worked on eventually!

@porkins Honestly, I'm not too certain of that yet myself. All I know is that currently it's a two-way street which is why Beehaw defederated in the interim before mod tools are developed.
