Child sexual abuse material - underage porn. For obvious reasons, you don't want this to be something you're hosting automatically out of your basement server.

Discord is worse than Reddit for anything other than chatting. You can't view a Discord without an account, Discords aren't indexed by search engines or protected by google cache / archive.org, Discord's API usage policy is even more restrictive than Reddit's new one (it's completely against the TOS to create third party discord clients at all)...

Being able to look at the historical threads on a subreddit like hardwareswap is really important for learning the value of what you have. A format where every offer gets its own collapsible conversation thread is much better than every negotiator popping up in sequence.

Early Access games should never have a battle pass or cash item shop.

Your hypothetical strapped 495 people to train tracks, you absolute monster! Statically, about forty of those 495 have serious chronic back pain, too. You obviously don't care about the disabled. Be more careful next time when changing the number of doors in a Monty Hall problem!

There. Instead of a useless blogspam "article", here's a link to the game.

No way in hell they're gonna still be supporting the Series S in five years.

Oil floats on water.

  1. cover yourself in water

  2. wait for it to oil

  3. sink

BG3 has plenty of bugs, some of them game breaking. Look at the litany of fixes they delivered in each patch. It's not about that. It's about releasing a game that isn't a "service", and just a purely high quality game - tactical combat that works well, characters with good writing, a solid plot hook, a distinct graphical style, phenomenal voice acting and mocap (which matter more for this genre than they would in, say, a third person shooter).

I've been watching a friend play and absolutely noticed that the romance stuff is a lot slower. everyone wanted to jump my wizard bones about 18 hours in, though it's very easy to just not flirt with them. Meanwhile she's 28 hours in and Shadowheart (who was trying to get me in bed with her in the first 10 hours of my play through) still hasn't propositioned her.

You don't need a switch (hacked or otherwise) to use yuzu. The "dump the keys from your own console" stuff is cover-your-ass doctrine, the keys are easily available online

That's the point though. It's really good to have a website selling DRM-free FLAC music instead of "streaming" it to you for a subscription fee. If "Songtrdr" fucks up bandcamp I'm going back to pirating indie releases which sucks but if they aren't gonna sell me DRM free uncompressed files...

Any other character I'd agree with you, but I wouldn't be surprised if Lae'zel is into that.

There's no good mobile exclusive game, in my experience. There are plenty of great games that are 1:1 ports of their PC or console versions, with buy-once pricing and no microtransactions.

The ones I have installed on Android are: Baba is You, Slay the Spire, Peglin, Downwell, Super Hexagon, SNKRX, and 20 Minutes Til Dawn.

What do you mean prize? This image is about not murdering your fellow humans and nothing more. This explanation only raises further questions!

You're not looking for "physical". You're looking for "DRM-free".

I would actually spend money on Lemmy Sync. Though I'd also love if some of the Reddit app devs went grey hat and implemented token spoofing like Twidere on Android has for Twitter - that app lets me view my Mastodon "timeline" and Twitter timeline in the same feed by telling Twitter's API that it's totally the normal iPhone Twitter app.

It's a meme based on a diagram of the hiding place they found Hussein in. It's been a running joke to either edit that image to humorous designs for the bunker, or edit the indicated body of Hussein into other diagrams.

The hell did I buy for $12.99?

It's not a block on these sites, it's there to prevent porn and piracy sites from showing up in the "suggested" page that every privacy conscious user already turned off completely.

Right? Training data is an absurd blob of everything the algorithm can get its hands on. It's like trying to assure that there's no alcohol or coca-cola in a lake.

So use a tool like this for call of duty multiplayer lobbies, not globally. Who cares if people "cheat" in single player games?

Even that doesn't have the important part: before and after images. And you just know that the only way to see that before and after is going to be a 25 minute youtube video by the worst personality on the internet.

Halls of Torment. Cookie Clicker. Vampire Survivors.

Grappler Baki-ass post

I dunno about this one chief, given the blurb for the actual extension seems to be rather poorly machine translated into English.

It's preserved the same way every other off-the-market game that isn't entirely based on a server is preserved, by pirates.

Compete in terms of value, not price. The series S gets you Xbox's current gen game library and a selection of 360 games, and if you're willing to use dev mode a powerful emulation suite. Deck gets a huge percentage of Steam's 20-year catalog as one-click installs, most other PC games that don't use anticheat as slightly more involved installs, every PC game if you want to install windows, and also a powerful emulation suite. Plus it's a dockable handheld instead of something that needs a monitor and controller.

The series S has better media apps and can be woken up from the couch, though.

Baldur's Gate 3. Boring answer but it's just very goddamn good.

I was checking this out expecting a Switch Lite form factor with the specs of a weaker Steam Deck - the perfect indie machine (a real Switch is stuck on outdated unmoddable versions of indie games).

The $1300 price tag was a damn jumpscare lmao

Wasn't last year's TGA the one where having the tab open in the background entered you into a drawing for a Steam Deck?

Finally... Wii U 2.

Mobile Adapter GB is a remote device.

On the flip side, I've been using FX file explorer for this for years with no issues, but my roommate on the latest iPhone (a year ago) encountered a pretty horrific oversight in the default Files app's way to handle this (and no option to use third party apps).

Whenever she tried to copy more than 2GB from the network drive to the phone via Files, the phone would completely lock up and freeze (and stop transferring, which I confirmed by looking at read operations on the home server). She had to hard reboot and copy the files over multiple operations instead of just queuing up 50GB of audiobooks once and letting it transfer in the background. It turns out the Files app handles network assets by loading them all into RAM and then writing them to the iPhone's NAND, and if you try to perform an operation that takes more than the phone's current available RAM it just does the Apple equivalent of a bluescreen.

Overwatch 2 failing is bad news? It's everything wrong with GAAS development. If it eats shit and dies, the industry can only take away good lessons from it.

I'd argue that fighting and punishing hate speech would be protected by Tenet II, which takes priority over "other laws".

It's a maker game, so there's no reason to believe you can't make easy levels.

Oh wow, /r/nintendo stayed down through a Nintendo Direct that announced a new Mario game? That's a lot more chutzpah than I'd expect from a subreddit focused on a game console.

BitTorrent exclusive in that case lmao

They've been working on a new game ever since Spire stopped getting regular updates. The project was in Unity though and this little dancing game was a three-week "jam" game so that Mega Crit could try out the Godot engine and see if it was a viable alternative to Unity for their next real project. Turns out they do like Godot and have ported their in-progress game from Unity to Godot and can now continue development!

Personally I'm hoping 1030 isn't even a Deck. Putting the Deck internals in a set-top box with better cooling and lots of I/O would make an amazing competitor to PS5/XSX and a straight upgrade to XSS, and they could price it a lot cheaper than the Deck because they wouldn't need to put a screen or battery in (and they could make it even cheaper by selling it without a controller since it works with Xbox/PS/Nintendo ones already).

Steam Machines failed the first time, but now that the Deck has gotten a lot of people comfortable with (a vastly improved) SteamOS there's no reason to think they'd fail again, especially if Valve themselves were putting out the flagship "standard" unit that companies like ASUS could iterate on.
