Lemmy is far less mature than reddit but at least its still improving and growing

Is it on F-droid?

Same but its incredibility buggy and unintuitive for me

I don't get it

Short answer: phone manufactures hate you

Long(ish) answer: Each phone manufacture heavy modifies the linux android kernel in order to make it work on there hardware. This usually means that the binary blobs (there are a lot of them) are only compatible with specific kernels.

What is reddit smoking? This message is so out of touch

No they just want to avoid the toxicity

Or even better, start offering both

How's the weather in Washington?

I'm pretty sure he has the high ground over reddit

Honestly subs should offer alternative places other than reddit

View Lemmy.ml from the Lemmy.world instance

Time to divide methinks

Only one question remains: will it federate

That's cool but also terrifying.

I think communities will naturally move to larger subsbutt as soon as a controversial choice is made by the mods it will split off again.

Its also important to note that all the biggest subs shouldn't be on the same instance

Technicly the Lemmy source code owners could change the license as they hold the ownership.

It does get a little blurry when there are many different contributors though

The only time I've spent on reddit is to convince mods and users to make the switch to lemmy

One word: lemmy

I assume its a target for bots because its a lie hanging fruit.

Also it's harder to find bots down the road

I kind to want to jump to a smaller instance

Honestly we need to work on getting the community to manage bots.

I just like config files I guess

Hackability

This is so true

c/thebusispurple

I might jump ship in order to bring balance to the force

Just don't upvote bad advise and leave a comment of why it is bad. Downvoting has negative effects on the behavior of a community. It allows the majority to turn on the minority (sometimes the minority is wrong but still)

Sir this is lemmy

It happens to the best of us

I like wireguard because it doesn't have a lot of overhead

Your welcome to have a negative option. However if you disagree with someone either ignore them or tell them why you disagree.

On the flipside you could just upvote comments you agree with.

I personally am using Lemmy to discover a new community

This is the way

I don't think this going to happen but we can wish

This is closer to c/maliciouscompliance

I'm pretty sure its the only actively maintained app on f-droid

Fedora for the last 4 or 5 years

We should create special communities that are purely reddit posts copied over
