And then they just push a new commit without the files, completely unaware that git keeps all versions of the code? I feel like this repo is going to disappear.

IIRC the EU also ruled that burying the rejection options under additional links counts as a violation. Hence why Google now has a Reject button next to the accept button. Most sites still do that.

Starting June 2024, iFixit will no longer be Samsung’s designated third-party parts and tools distributor. Also starting next month, we will no longer have a quantity limit of seven Samsung parts per repair shop per quarter.

Wow that is quite a limit Samsung. I can see why no one would want to be a partner with them. (Which was obviously the point.)

Can't they just send up extra suits with the dragon capsule? Badly fitted suits are probably better than none, it's not like they are piloting it down.

Considering how many startrek memes I see on lemmy, I'm surprised this was the original meme.

I think you report to your nation's Data Protection Centre, each member has their own that takes the reports. If I was still in the EU I would have put more time into finding out how reports work.

I'm sure that commit will be fixed in sort order and not remain that way until it becomes a "we don't know why, but just do this bit."

It's been getting "more and more use" since 2001. To start with the isps said that they were not going to do any work to implement it until endpoints supported it. Then vista came with support by default. Next they wanted the backbones to support it. All tier 1 networks are now dual stack. Then they said they were not going to do anything until websites supported it widely. Now all cdns support it. Then they said, it's ok we will just do mass nat on everyone so won't do any work on it.

It's finally got to the point I can no longer open the image. The vertical size of the thumbnail makes it too hard to hit. Keep going.

Sounds like they are better off that way. Anyone who thinks that is important is probably not worth it.

If it's a good bike, then someone might put in the effort to steal it. If it's crap, they are more likely to steal the lock.

For real, I've had problems where I specifically checked if it was DNS, concluded it was not, but it still turned out to be DNS.

You can say that about any antivirus.

So no change whatsoever then? Ever since it released windows 10 patch testing has been "release to end user and see what the complaints are."

turn off the toggle for “Show recommendations for tips, app promotions, and more.”

I turn this off anyway, as in Windows 10 it always kept pushing 3rd party apps. Is this ad any different to the Windows 10 "Suggested App" that was in the start menu for it?

At least if a modder picks a random spot for their content it's unlikely to conflict with any other mods.

Aka people who just plugged it in and left it as long as it works. These are not the kind of people who would have done anything if informed that they had an issue. On one hand I don't like the idea of governments fixing private property, but they were never going to be fixed by the owner.

There is, been there since 7. Just hardly any game Devs use it, including Microsoft.

Ok, so yea just a "better" version of runas. I can see it being a bit easier when you just need to do the one thing as admin, but overall just opening an admin windows is still going to be the best way.

I really think the security issues makes it not worth enabling.

It had really good reflections too, that intro with the wet brick castle was really impressive when it came out.

Yep, depending on the version it was under either administrative tools or system tools option in control panel. It's now also in the menu when you right click the start button.

S mode does allow you to turn it off, so it's more like a hobbled version of home.

The computer is as bad as one I saw several years ago with 64g emmc and "Quad core processor." not a quad core, it was literally the name that showed in system. It did have 4 cores: at 400Mhz, boosting to 1.1Ghz. Buyer changed their mind and we couldn't give it away.

You're not safe there either, they had almost the same issue on the Linux version of the product a few months ago.

Shift F10 just opens the command prompt. After that it's the name of a batch file in the oobe folder. (Out of box experience.) You can tab complete the name so you just have to remember the oobe part. The biggest annoyance is if you buy a laptop that is in S mode, you can't start command prompt to do this.

All it does is add a registry key, and reboot, but you would have to know how to do custom windows deployments to to create an image to skip it always.

Where do you see people only half on? They alway appear to me to take as much of the pavement as they can. Wouldn't want pedestrians to be able to use it.

Hahahaha, if only pro was anything more than home with some added features. If you want the version without ads you need enterprise + a domain or intune.

They probably just turned off suggested links, and tips.

The path to neutrality by any means nessasary!

Because 48 bits over 32 bits does not really solve the problems with ip4. 128 bits basically gives one ip4 address space to each square meter of earth. Ip6 also drops all the unused and silly parts of ip4 too.

I stay away from any big subs now. The smaller stuff that tends to have 2 to 15 posts a day (like game specific subs) feel like they did before. Although I really feel a lot of those are going to discord as well.

Seen this on the powershell subreddit before, it just downloads and runs another executable.

Bad news, I have an AMD card and still got the copilot button. It's probably a very specific version of the software that is an issue.

If I paid for starfield I would have felt annoyed about it. Played it on game pass so probably spent half price or less on the subscription time. It was fine, but not full price fine.

You can now reach the network connections folder, using an option on the network status page. It's something like advanced network options. Still all the classic stuff, but avoids "control panel." I'm going to guess links like that are not going to be removed.

If they just outright remove all of that, you really will need to learn how to do everything in powershell.

HumanFemales and HumanM both inherit from the Ape base class, it's from an older java code base. We tried to change it once but it turned out the person that had written had retired and any changes we made just broke stuff.

I was a little weary about it when I saw it having the same issues that ksp1 had at some point. You would think that one of the first things they would get right would be the physics, since they spent years getting it working in ksp1. I suspect that new company is just thinking this is a green field game, and are going to hit the same problems ksp1 had.

For years people have known it can’t be upgraded. You know that going in.

Not sure that is true, lots of people see the marketing for a MacBook and think that any of them will be enough. Or see the price difference and think they are getting a good deal, or don't understand why that is. I've had to tell people, sorry I know you spent a lot of money on this, but it does not have the storage for what you are wanting to do. Yes, the only way is to buy another one.

Otherwise yea, everyone tries to gaslight customers into thinking they didn't get ripped off.

I'm surprised it wasn't showing ads before. The fire tablets are discounted if they show ads on the lock screen.

You are aware that first amendment protects speech from government actions/bodies only. It's not something you can use against a private business (there are other laws for discrimination.)

Did they think about how far I would have to move my hand to type it? Sudo is only in two easy to reach places on the keyboard, run0 is 4 separate areas of the keyboard, one two rows from home and none on the home row.

I'm only partially joking.

Last time I did this domain accounts needed to include their domain/upn to logon, so there won't be any account confusion. However if they were accessing the nas from a domain joined machine, it would use Kerberos anyway so shouldn't be getting prompted to logon. Obviously that is only for SMB shares, other connection types didn't use Kerberos.
