Not feeding trolls.

nvidia works fine in Linux, haven't encountered any big problems ever in laptops. Just make sure that this is a discrete adaptor which will be used only for gaming or rendering (VAAPI, CUDA, etc.).

Yes, as main video adaptor nVidia isn't that great.

Fix lack of planning first, don't sacrifice your sleep time.

Switched to liftoff and continue enjoying fediverse.

But I'm not on beehaw.

I'm running my own server, but it can't run on user device reliably, because most federated networks working in push mode, means remote server pushing new content to yours. And if your device will be offline you won"t receive content you miss.

It's not THAT bad. It was THAT BAD remembering who invented and pushed it. You know, all these psh-sh-sh-sh-audio memes. People just do not want to:

  1. Use software written by developer who didn't manage previous project to work properly.
  2. Change anything if it just works (c)(r)(tm).

Currently systemd does its job well and right, despite on fact that systemd not so modular as you would expect. Event hardcore systemd haters now using it and happy. Including me :)

You can save money with mkvtoolnix and use hardware encoder with ffmpeg to speedup conversion.

100% degoogled. Everything is selfhosted, except for Telegram. Even at job :)

Getting my phone out of pocket and continue reading that great finction.

What a surprise! (no)

Better use Bitwarden + self-hosted server like vaultwarden.

You may set profile you need once, save it into nvidia-settings file and load on every startup.

I would suggest UTM due to ability to run VMs for different CPU architectures. Virtualbox is limited to x86.

Hosting my own instance on my server just because I can. And I have resources.

If your ISP can give you publicly routed IP address - you can host it too, right from your home!

I am using feedpushr which sends articles to my mail.

Too big folder icons.

How do you start it exactly? With nvidia-settings -l?

Also you can try to do that with something like xvfb which would start X session and let nvidia-settings to apply it's profile.Probably 😅 .

Start to program.
