JetBrains IDEs for me

When was the last time you ran a distro and how awful was the hardware to have this experience? In the past 10 years all of them have been fairly "hit the ground running" for me unless it had something weird like Nvidia Optimus

They used to dominate the consumer market prior to Ryzen so might have something to do with it but I got no evidence lol

Weird mine was $0

Yeah and whatever you do definitely don't use Jellyseerr for Jellyfin setups or Overseerr for Plex setups

Yep and reddit is slowly closing themselves off, I wouldn't doubt you eventually have to be logged in to even view anything.

Forums are still around but it's usually just the older established ones (I'm on stangnet.com and corral.net regularly but they're car related so lots of technical info). Everything new either went Reddit or Discord it feels like and I'll never install Discord.

I think Jellyfin started a forum post reddit but I haven't gone looking yet for that one.

Information is absolutely getting harder to find online and if archive.org goes down we're really screwed

AirVPN, for over a decade and they've kept my ports the whole time

I can understand seeing them after a refresh, but visiting my user profile not logged in from Tor and showing everything deleted then having it all come back 2-3 weeks later is a little shady. I just checked my account again after my 3rd powerdeletesuite run since the shutdowns and I had one single comment restored (despite shredding before delete but maybe that failed)

New Mexico requires you to be licensed to concealed carry doesn't it? Curious what this accomplishes, how many licensed concealed carry holders are aggressors in a crime?

Infuse has been the only way it was usable for me. Tried Swiftfin but as of a week ago it had too many issues with my media where it would refuse to play until you messed around with the developer settings which you then have to change back for the other media that did used to play. Infuse I paid $10 for the year just to try it and it has been flawless

Me after getting those dumbass Canary cameras that cost $200 a piece then they completely wrecked the free tier then started giving them away for free to get more subscribers.

Wyze cams with wz_mini_hacks firmware offline in a VLAN with Frigate and Home assistant from here on out!

These cameras work very well with the wz_mini_hacks firmware completely cut off from the internet. I'm using frigate and home assistant for notifying and it's honestly way better than the wyze app ever was.

I'm running frigate on a Lenovo m900 with the coral USB accelerator and my CPU usage is super low so you could probably get away with the Pi4!

While not something I would ever use, I can definitely see the use. It does look nice but as someone who has experienced Microsoft from the start it's gonna be a no for me.

Surprised he doesn't want to strap pillows to them

Lidarr for most, soulseek (slskd) for anything Lidarr can't get in FLAC

Stremio with real debrid is great, like Kodi but without the hefty UI. I ended up going to jellyfin with the arr stack on a 14tb external and loving it so far. Will eventually go to an actual NAS but a nice way to get your feet wet

I see no reason to not use both. Got a show you're watching that has new releases? Have Sonarr track it and auto download them as they release. Want to try a new show but not sure you'll like it or just a single season? Debrid.

I will say, Jellyfin with Infuse on apple tv is rather easy to use for non technical people where they would struggle with stremio a little more.

Still a far cry from the early XBMC/Kodi days where you had to manually try like 20 sources before you could watch both options really are great

Pry my foxbody from my cold dead hands!

Really depends on the make, you can get Mitchell and AllData prior to the subscription model (takes about a TB of space, from 1980s to 2013) to help with diagrams and disassembly and reassembly. Mitchell's wiring diagrams really are a lifesaver.

Dealer level software/scanner combo you can get from obdii365, I got a Hyundai scanner from them and it worked well but you want to run the software in a VM or isolate it some other way and probably wouldn't network it.

Vxdiag is pretty solid as well for the dealer software/scanner and you can usually get via Amazon but again I wouldn't trust the software. I have their ford one and used it with IDS to set the VIN on an electronic power steering rack.

The software itself you can find via Google if it's all you need but typically the scanner is very specific to the software for the dealership stuff

Adjust your thumbstick deadzone if you haven't yet, the default is super high I run mine at 2000 and it made them feel a lot more responsive.

I like to have gyro aim only when I touch the right track pad, playing through Halo MCC right now and it's fantastic, especially using turrets with gyro. Thumbstick for general movement, track pad and gyro for combat.

We're using the grunt party skull where you get the party sounds and streamers when you headshot them and I'm able to pretty consistently nail them after a few missions with that setup.

Not using any auto aim

Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?

Yep, moved off GitHub the moment they announced it cuz I thought they were gonna pull the old Microsoft embrace extend extinguish

Doesn't mean much with how bad the QA and overall lifespan of Pixel devices have been unfortunately. Hopefully better this time but hard to want to put money in when the previous generations all had such issues and bad QC.

Extending warranty for the 5As then handing out equally defective devices is a pain. I'm on my 3rd one and I'm really not planning on it surviving over a year since none of the others did and when they died I was sitting down using the phone.

Only thing keeping me on them is GrapheneOS, too difficult to go back after getting a taste of it lol

I literally bought the wrong version of a game called Heretic on Amazon in the early 2000s because it "had a cool penguin on it" lmao

You have a choice of where you go and what you do, if you dislike something then don't go there. I never used 4chan or similar and ignoring it is easy for me you just have to stop caring so much

Yeah I never used their UI I just add the ones I use to networkmanager so its a little more integrated to my OS

My money's on them selling PS2 demo discs

I wish I read this before I made 8 accounts lmao

Frugal Usenet, I did the one that gets you the block storage then ended up adding more block storage after that ran up

I just use nextcloud as a target for backups (Aegis, Signal, QkSMS). Apps such as KeePassDX I have load the file via nextcloud. My contacts and calendar go through it as well, photos are just set to auto upload along with a few other directories.

As for the home screen layouts, I just take screenshots once I have it how I like and try to remember to take them again if I change stuff.

It's not a full backup but I'm back up and running fairly quickly (Pixel 5A died on me 3 times in under a one year lifespan per device).

I've got slskd and lidarr set up with jellyfin and FinAmp on my phone and honestly I don't open Spotify except to discover new music

It's definitely worse this year. All I've bought is some filament for my 3D printers and it's really only a few bucks off. Seen a lot of things I was waiting on go on "sale" for the original price or higher

Do you have any of their doorbells? I went back to a physical doorbell button with home assistants sky connect dongle linked up to a motion sensor at the door just so I know when someone's there but would love to get a camera up there that isn't some ring bs

I sure hope so, I love my steam controller but it really could benefit from dual thumbsticks

Using sonixd for desktop and finamp for mobile through my Jellyfin server and really liking it.

I did have to make a separate Jellyfin account for my music since I didn't want music showing up on the Jellyfin TV apps cluttering it up but not bad overall!

Finamp doesn't track new items in a playlist marked for offline play which is my main gripe atm.

Interesting I didn't know you could even host a server for it. I use Joplin with local files and nextcloud to sync them I'll have to check that out

Flawless on my thinkpad T480, occasionaly some issues on my gaming PC usually nvidia drivers post update but not as much lately

Recently did this, there's some setup if you want it all automated (arr stack with nzbget and jellyfin+jellyseerr for me) but the end result is so worth it. Stremio and debrid are pretty nice for one offs too

I love grapheneOS but holy hell the pixels suck now. Two 5as and a 7 both with random screen issues. The first 5As screen died while sitting on my desk, you could unlock it with fingerprint and hear audio but just black screen. Ubreakifix fried the board during repair lmao

Yep I only use Instagram and the fighting in comments of reels is extremely prevalent.

Content creators will even intentionally misspell things to try to kick it off if it's a reel where the intention is to insult someone else.
