i think that might be a suicide prevention measure, i remember something about blister packaging helping reduce suicide rates.

i watch ltt for alex messing around, and every now and then a video of linus wasting money on cool testing equipment for some reason. I've always assumed GN is superior for actual testing.

I am so glad I made a bet with a friend about reddit being much smaller or dead in 5 years, it just keeps getting better for me.

it's good that Saudi Arabia did this but its hard to feel good about such a screwed up, journalist murdering country.

I think the majority of ppl want that stuff better for everyone, toxic masculinity hurts women and men. there's definitely some very vocal sexists on both sides though

go look at some forums for cheating, and you will see that they really do not work very well. it may be a cat and mouse game, but there is constant reverse engineering work and development being done (some of which is even paid work for paid cheats), and there is pretty much always a solution for new anticheat measures that someone finds.

the only unbeatable anticheat is a server side one

lots of fun techniques, a common one for getting down low enough where other methods become practical is stirling cryocoolers, and those are even on ebay for a few thousand (cascade refrigeration systems, and joule thompson coolers, and a few others are also used), way down past that theres stuff like weird magnetic coolers, and dilution coolers All very interesting, reading about exotic cooling methods is quite fun.

reminds me of this video that shows how they reverse engineered the macbook touchbar display and made their own driver. I bet a tv is harder, but I've wondered the same thing, and would be interested to see someone try.

some recent ones have been interesting, but yeah that ad really was a scummy move

newpipe is just a client for accessing youtubes servers, yes, so if youtube went away we would need to use vimeo or something else (maybe peertube, open source yt alternative?)

the number of gender affirming surgeries on minors actually occuring each year is very small. looks like about 800 between 2019 and 2021. if a percentage of those cases could have been potential suicide deaths, then its likely worth the small risk of them regretting it later, especially since studies of gender affirming surgery show very low regret rates.

Part of the point is that you may not be able to spoof it.

very very good game, it does get pretty challenging at some points though, idk if a 5 yr old would like it

it would be preferable to have someone other than her cracking denuvo lol

Yeah, 70% of my reccomended is just videos I've already seen, and 29% is clickbait trash, but every now and then I do get a very good reccomendation, that I simply would never know about without it, so I'm not sure if I want to turn recommendations off yet.

that plane is cooler than taylor swifts plane though

its a shame its so large that no one has the money to clone it to their own servers (that i know of)

Server side is beatable as in, you could inflate your skill to that of a professional player.

The optimal serverside anti cheat would be able to recognize what gameplay is human level, and what gameplay is impossible or very unlikely to be human, and make punishment decisions based on that.

Then, the best cheat would just be almost perfectly simulating a pro player, and at that point the cat and mouse game of anti cheat and cheating would be far far less relevant.

Something like blatant tf2 spinbotting, or scoping someones head through a wall right before peeking them in r6, are absolutely detectable serverside with heuristics or machine learning models or etc, and that should be worked on rather than embedding some spyware into my uefi firmware or whatever.

itl be definitely be nice when lgbtq doesn't need to be a social movement, or a political opinion, just a normal thing in life.

i bought an old hp server to mess around with. took me a few days to find and pirate the firmware update utility i needed. fuck hpe

I have one with grapheneos for privacy, and it's good.

i think i've seen it used to demo different image compression algorithms, things like that. it was used as an easy example test image, but this journal has now banned papers from using it because it is weird and creepy to be using cropped porn for that. this won't benefit the model, but she was only pushing to ban it because she wants more women in IT fields.

ok but the real interesting stuff like reading hand writing from a paralyzed person imagining writing it and etc are all only for actual electrodes in brains.

and "What's the best dryer?" was answered in 2010

I think one way is to use a domain host that is located in some country that doesn't care at all.

finally, ubi might be a good idea, but money for iris scans doesnt seem right

how did you get to be in there?

some people use the logic gates in the game to create basic computers to automate expansion

hermione was criticized a lot by pretty much everyone when she tried to free the house elves and made badges etc.

if we get a video showing something changing on his face before he touches it or falls to the ground, I think that would rule out false flag, or at least they would have had to actually shoot something at him to do that.

personally I think that theres loads of people with the skillset to do it, but they all have nice jobs in cybersecurity instead of cracking video games.

Smartereveryday is incredible educational content, and he's been making them for years.

i mean its likely not reliable but i bet some animal deaths are inevitable when developing a new implant. 1500 sounds way too high though.

ok but how does the bluray library stay safe? its still a similar problem. for piracy sites, a lot of them seem to deal with it by just having it be hosted in a country that doesnt care enough to shut them down.

I converted a pdf book scan to epub with tessaract ocr and calibre, it didn't need any programming, but the end result did have a typo every few paragraphs. Most were very similar to each other though, so a few hours cleaning it up would've made it pretty readable.

Wait so was that a suicide bombing?

I was wondering the same, and it sounds like it all depends on theatre. Someone also said that if you had quite a bit of money (I don't remember how much, but it was in thousands), you could pay for them to get the IMAX film spool (which are apperantly heavily controlled, for piracy I guess) and play it again just for you.

crowdstrike has caused issues like this with linux systems in the past, but sounds like they have now moved to eBPF user mode by default (I don't know enough about low level linux to understand that though haha), and it now can't crash the whole computer. source
