foot is great. Simple, fast, and customisable enough for my needs.

Rather, use un-googled chromium. Brave is kind of bloated with all of the extra "features" they have.

Why should beginners approaching web development stay away from WASM? I've used it a few times to create online demos of software I made in Rust and it was a very simple and painless experience to get it working in a website. I consider myself a beginner and I have not run into any issues with it so far.

Any roguelikes you like. Though my picks for games would be Vampire Survivors, Slay the Spire, Dead Cells, and risk of rain 2.

Windows links are here. As for android, you're right, it is not maintained anymore; the most similar still-maintained browser I could find is Cromite, but I've never used it before so I can't comment on it.

I'll be playing through Risk of Rain Returns, Yakuza Kiwami 2, and my backlog of visual novels. The deck has become my main gaming machine now.

Whichever works best for you. I would recommend Wayland to anyone, but if you run into any problems with it (either bugs with your compositor or protocol limitations), then just use X11.

It feels too early for a new Steam Deck, I would think that would take another 2 or 3 years. I would love something like a standalone VR though, but VR on linux is not in the best shape yet so I'm not sure how that would go.
