Erika is genderfluid and uses they/them pronouns.

Yeah these 5 over 1s really ruin the neighborhood character of my suburban strip mall state highway hell.

Leave them as derelict auto body warehouses tyvm.

Oppressed people support other oppressed people.

It's called solidarity, sweaty.

Internet communists when there is never any revolution so all their obnoxious internet arguments were for naught.

This shit is so boring.

Literally how some phone scammer convinced my grandma to buy hundreds of dollars worth of iTunes gift cards.

"Tankie" is when you don't vote for a candidate who supports genocide.

The state of the online "tankie" discourse has never been worse.

The coldest temperature ever recorded in the UK is -27. That's right around the inflection point for where heat pumps become less efficient than electric heaters. Until the gulf stream fails, the UK is pretty safe to use heat pumps everywhere.

Because game devs have to pay their rent.

If they go off to form their own studio, they probably have to take out a business loan to pay themselves for the time being. Interest rates are high right now, and rent and food are both expensive. It's a huge gamble to make a game and put it out on the assumption you'll be able to pay back 6%+ interest on whatever you took out. Games are not a reliable money maker. Especially from new studios.

Even if you get some sort of deal with a publisher to fund your first endeavor, there will still be strings attached to that, and publishers are pretty tight with the purse strings right now.

Which means really the only viable option, assuming you're not already independently wealthy, is that you have to work another job to work on the game in the meantime, which means it will take even longer to come out.

When asked if he was sure that Albion couldn’t be copyrighted due to its historical context, he replied: “I don’t know if I’m honest, I don’t really know… I hope so. I mean you would think that the responsible person I should be, I would’ve spent the last six months in lawyers’ offices…”

Bold strategy, Cotton.

The people who post this meme often do not want for-profit housing development of any kind.

If Biden wanted my vote he could simply stop supporting genocide. Really quite a low bar for him to clear.

There's "holding your nose" and there's voting for someone actively aiding a genocide.

I have a very dumb cousin and it's basically all they've been sharing lately.

That's Neko Arc. A cat version (and joke character) of a character from the fighting game Melty Blood.

Why is Neko Arc associated with pilk? Idk they're a funny little guy.

Kneecapping decarbonization efforts in the name of "jobs" and "the economy" is just straight up Republican policy. I do not care how many jobs are preserved on my rapidly warming planet.

Not to diminish your point because all fields should be unionized, but nurses and teachers are drastically underpaid and overworked, despite many of them having unions.

The natural result of canon-obsessed nerds.

The researchers conclude that the EU should use its strong bargaining power due to the single market to induce the Chinese government to abandon the most harmful subsidies.

This is their advice? Make the technology for the green transition more expensive rather than enact your own subsidies?

yeah but now he's just a guy in a spare bedroom with 4.5k patrons and under 40k youtube subscribers (of which I am one)

it's not that hard to blame game studios for not really thinking he's worth it anymore

they’re too busy wanking off to their own perceived superiority

Unlike all the people commenting on this post!

This is just another stupid online factionalism post. None of what anybody says online (especially on a tiny niche forum) matters one fucking bit.

Antifa, feed the homeless, or get social housing or public transport built

This is what matters. And I guarantee you there are MLs participating in black bloc protests, Food not Bombs, and all sorts of other useful things you can think of, but your tendency doesn't matter when you're actually out there helping people. Did you turn to your fellow protestors and ask them what they think about China or what they think about some shit that happened a hundred years ago? Or did you just do what needed to be done in the moment?

"more and more people are saying it"

Hey, as a complete outsider, it reads like you've lost all perspective on this. You've contacted the FBI and local law enforcement because you're being harassed by someone you used modmail to circumvent a block to talk to? You've posted on lemmy because you're mad about what the reddit admins aren't doing? You called the dude a violent psychopath. Relax. I'm assuming you're on the autism spectrum and air purifiers are your hyperfixation, so I'm going to be gentle here and say that your behavior is the behavior that is outside the norms here, okay?

It seems like you could probably just drop this and it would be fine. You think their product is bad and misrepresenting itself and that someone is being dishonest in their relationship to the company: that's fine. People make bullshit air purifiers all the time. Presumably you're a mod of the subreddit so you can guide people away from those products. The people who make those products are probably not happy about it, but what did you expect? Continuing to push the issue and demanding some clarification or apology that is not going to come is not going to result in the resolution of this issue you're having.

People are dishonest when promoting products. No one promoting the product is obliged to respond to any of your questions. That is not how things work. Ban evasion is not a criminal offense, nor is it a threat. People asking to help you moderate the subreddit is not unreasonable because you are having a meltdown. Your subreddit is quite small and not very active. You have overblown the magnitude of everything happening.

If you stopped moderating your subreddit, what do you imagine is the worst thing that would happen? I hope that answering that question will lend you some perspective on this whole thing.

This report, funded by the UK government, takes the forced labor as a given. Their "research" is essentially, "we couldn't trace supply lines, so we assume all green tech is tied to Xinjiang, and that anything made in Xinjiang has forced labor in the chain". In fact the "report" is actually "investor advice", and not purporting to be factual reporting of any kind.

I'm sure all the people who "worked" on this are enjoying their six figure e-mail jobs.

If traffic gets bad enough people will make different decisions.
