This is elite self-hosting, lol. I want more of this content.

Because it’s literally advertising spam. I can’t believe this person would want to ruin the entire good will of Lemmy by pushing their trash.

It simply serves no purpose.

We need an encyclopedia of posts/content like this that is the masterbook of Fediverse ops and scaling "how-to."

I didn’t even know about this mission. Why isn’t this more publicized?

Voyager gang.

Metal Gear Solid for GBC is never mentioned in all time lists for the series, but it’s my favorite, straight up.

I can’t believe they managed to cram a true MGS experience onto a GAMEBOY Color cartridge.

Pocket Bomberman is also legitimately great.

I’ve never heard of him until just now—one glance and he is elite. This is easily the best candidate they could field.

DOTA splits the difference but it’ll take you 3000-5000 hours to be truly competitive. And everyone wants to be competitive.

Like Pokémon, I would say most games with RNG. They’re basically fake and also limited by the lack of computation for RNG at the time. You can’t make them hard; there’s basically a ratio where they’re enjoyable or not, and that’s the same ratio as playable or not.

Platformers resist this—they’re exactly as hard as they are. They’re the original physics based game. Pure skill.

You should redo your org from scratch and let all the default plugins do the work. Mine looks great and I never changed anything, just followed the recommended file org pattern for Movies and TV Shows.

I don’t think he’ll be re-elected. It was a fake win since he was replacing a more legitimate (albeit still not good republican) long standing senator in a special case.

He’s objectively the worst person in the Senate. He owned a business here that was successful and had a much better reputation but has now revealed himself as a stain.

I think Oklahoma may actually swing slightly D soon-ish. We had a D governor not long ago who was well liked. Joy got 42% of the vote in 2022.

Data streaming costs have to be better addressed. How does the bill get paid? It’s really that simply.

I am loving this series.

Stop government subsidizing of:

  • all agriculture

  • oil and gas industry

  • slash US military expenditure by 80%+

  • maintain the current interest rates for another decade (aka no more cheap US dollars)

These are the fundamental changes required, that will cause everything else to play out and the market to stop sabotaging itself. Actual incentives will emerge, and those incentives would align with saving the Earth from our destruction of it.

Short of these steps, you won’t stop: most pollution, most overconsumption, most agri-pollution, and most malinvestment.

There are a good number of Okies on here and Mastodon. Welcome!

I actually think Oklahoma is a few years away from a blue tipping point, similar to the effect Denver has had on Colorado, where the urban majority has rapidly tipped things blue.

The awful superintendent is low key the best thing to ever happen to education here—there is a bubbling reaction even within the right to react to him and Stitt’s policies. And turning around education is the only thing needed to stop “blue” families from declining job offers here. Which would cascade the social landscape rapidly.

Right on. This seems relatively important considering pict-rs is the lemmy default. Seems like a change that should be considered for the core repo.

Never heard of him and his Twitter bio doesn’t elaborate. What’s his CV?

New 3DS XL/Wii U + custom firmware hacks, which are extremely easy these days if you follow the main guides, are the only way to play a collection for Nintendo.

Myrient for all other games for custom emulation / compilation.

Divorce yourself from the physical act of collecting. It is unrelated to the real joy IMO, each in is the preservation and play.

Where do I start for this rabbit hole? That sounds mind blowingly cool.

Metro can often refer to the core city plus the suburbs in its county. So LA County more or less == LA metropolitan area; contiguous development despite there being technically multiple cities contained—LA proper, Hollywood, Studio City, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Venice, etc. Oklahoma City metro contains OKC, Moore, Edmond, and so on.

It is the most retro supporting piracy console, it’s elite IMO. I have two with HShop on them and CFW.

Legitimately the only mobile device I’ve gamed on for two years.

Where can I read more about why this is happening?

Warcraft OG isn’t playable anymore FYI. They force update legacy clients to conform to WC3 Reforged. You could only play an offline crack of the old game if you can find it, and never let it phone home.

I am of the belief we do not need PeerTube at all.

We need a custom Lemmy instance that has video upload baked in, as well as a method of monetizing it for the server/“creator” (who is in a structural sense the moderator of the community to which it was uploaded).

Lemmy is simply better at distributing the information. PeerTube is a red herring and P2P video sucks. We need to make it easy for a server operator to have a mechanism for paying for the bandwidth (take payments and contain distribution to paying users, and account for bandwidth when distributing operating income after costs).

When I played DotA 2, a dude who was good also was trying to get me and everyone regular with us into POE.

I took one look at the average hours played on Steam reviews and noped out of there. Also quit DOTA like a week later.

KAPLAH

Rapid urban growth is always the antidote.

Our weak link is schools. Either people react to this bad superintendent, and schools finally improve—or some geniuses go the opposite way, and exploit this move to charter/private schools as opportunity to somehow make the first ultra-affordable private schools, which would relieve pressure from overcrowding and fix the public schools by proxy.

Mastodon is simply not as good. Lemmy achieves its objectives very cleanly and seems to leverage ActivityPub the best in the fediverse by far.

The internet isn’t private by design. There are a limited scope of steps you can take to enable “privacy.” But this is a pointless article.

Eh, it’s the largest weed producing state in the country and also is likely to be one of the early mushroom states. Stitt in all his idiocy just sanctioned a massive market where psilocybin spore kits were sold by the pallet load.

There is a lot more shadow wealth here that will make aggressive “progressive” choices because it’s profitable. The same is not true in any of the Deep South. The last time I was in Oxford, Mississippi, Uber was outlawed and there was 11:30pm legally enforced last call.

OKC growth rate is very high; it is the place that will tip the scale ultimately.

The Jeff Ross episode, holy cow that’s bad. I’ve never seen his personal shows. He’s like the world’s strangest narcissist.

This and Drive are the two top answers for opposite reasons.

I did this last year. And finally for the first time started my extended file on Golden Sun TLA.

Golden Sun is top 5 all time game for me.

Meta comment, but I often click politics or other links from the local feed, and like 90% of articles are paywalled. These communities are useless with the volume of paywalled material.

The Last of Us first play through, hands down.

Breath of the Wild first ten hours after release, close second place.

I’m told Outer Wilds will be number one when I get to it.

Majora’s Mask

The Last of Us

Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne

Really hard to leave BOTW out…
