Beehaw as an instance doesn't have nearly enough content to justify defederation. It wouldn't be missed if they moved somewhere else.

That being said, I do enjoy the discussions and would personally be disappointed to see it move or be closed off, but not enough to move with it.

Because it should take you about 2 minutes to brush your teeth.

If you're actually brushing for 6 minutes straight, you're overdoing it and damaging your enamel and gums.

Brush gently, floss thoroughly.

Have you tried not being poor? Just let your financial advisor invest the $500k your parents left you in your trust fund so that you can make money on it. It's so easy.

I see so many people excusing Bethesda's poor design choices and lack of content by saying mods will fix them.

That may be true, but the publisher making hundreds of millions shouldn't be offloading their work onto the free labor of the community.

This makes me realize that I can't think of hardly any videogames with a black character at the forefront.

Sure, there are black playable characters in MOBAs and MMOs, but how many story-driven games have black characters at the forefront?

The most recent one I can think of is Alan Wake 2. And Spider-Man Miles Morales. But there really are so few compared to those with white main characters. Which is sad.

In all seriousness, it's just called a post now. Elon threw away the incredible brand recognition of "Tweet," the noun/verb that every tech company wants. It's like if Google stopped wanting people to use their name as a verb and just go with the generic "search" term.

I'm realizing now that this would have been super useful when I worked in Loss Prevention way back when. Wish I had known...

I'm waiting for my wife to give birth! We're going to have a little girl this weekend and I'm so excited. It's our first, so there's lots of nervousness about it.

Man, it's a real sign of living the privileged, easy life when someone thinks this way.

Those people try to revolt and they die. They don't revolt and still die. What kind of choice is that?

There's no way Nintendo abandons the removable joycons. They're such an important part of the switch experience.

Literally all Nintendo needs to do is release essentially the same hardware format with increased computing power, better screen, and a bit more "robustness" in the hardware (the OG feels plasticy and flexes quite a lot).

They'd sell it probably as much as the original. Because BOTW and TOTK deserve higher graphical output.

What annoys me most is that you'll get that product carousel at the top of sponsored products that aren't what you want, then 3 or 4 results of sponsored links, then maybe you get the actual thing in the 5th real result.

It's a really bad search experience.

It's better than arguing with the customer.

Simple explanations like "we felt we were under X constraints" or "our engine didn't handle the loading times as well as we had hoped" would be just fine.

Instead, they just seem to be telling the players they're wrong for disagreeing with many of the design decisions made

The problem is that he's constantly making fun of the trans community and is now doing it specifically because it makes them angry. It's not good comedy when the people you're making fun of aren't laughing too.

The other problem is that he's playing the victim while doing it. He's claimed that he's being cancelled for what he's said and whines about it in every new special. And yet, he keeps getting specials.

I used to love his comedy, but this constant attack on Trans people, an already marginalized group, is unfunny and in very poor taste.

That's real ugly.

I do wish they'd stuck with the Panda look from the Pixel 2 for a while longer. It was much better looking than the visor.

But as far as "Google" phones go, the Nexus 6P was the best hardware they've had and they've not come close since.

Alphabet has half the market cap of Microsoft. Microsoft is so unbelievably big, it's not even funny.

Microsoft would be the one buying all three of Alphabet, Bytedance, and Disney and barely scoff at it.

You have to go to Cuckr for that.

Like Tinder for married couples.

I see that rogue Google Play Music icon there. Makes me sad they killed it.

Tbf, schools did a terrible job of that by giving us all those diagrams with the different sections of taste buds highlighted on the tongue.

It makes sense that a child would see that and understand it as there being different taste sections, especially because they usually (IIRC) had bitter on both sides.

So many people in the US complain that if we had a single-payer system, that wait times would be horrendous.

Well, here we are with the worst system in the world and still horrendous wait times.

None of those movies have any grit. Every story told is safe, it's meant for mass appeal, it's sanitized corporate garbage. Even the Barbie movie had more going for it in terms of commentary, story, and backbone.

And there's never been a worse time to be making them.

The industry keeps consolidating and there were a ton of layoffs, despite great profits.

This year was great, but sad.

"We started this interview and expected it to be a good one, but Sam Altman didn't answer any of our questions and we have to publish it anyway"

— The Verge

It's likely asked as a "gotcha" sort of question; a question that the asker is using to prove the answerer is on the side of the terrorists. There's no nuance in that question.

It's meant as a leading question to derail legitimate discussion.

So what's even the point of scanning things?

Why do it in the first place?

Because people need to know if there is a group in the government working to make their lives worse to the point where being that type of person could become illegal.

Plus, you're on an LGBTQ community, so obviously they care.

The AAA bubble burst a while ago. Complete AAA games rarely release anymore because studios keep trying to push the boundary on scope and size instead of focusing on quality.

The limited size of indie games means they'll always have the capability to ship complete. They don't always because the teams are much smaller and less experienced, but I've always found more enjoyment out of a passionate indie game than a corporatized AAA.

I can't believe they thought shipping the game without proper local maps was a good idea.

"Your hands look weird in all your photos, what's up with that?"

"...I have a condition."

Fucking morons, buying a lie and thinking they're geniuses for buying into the "truth."

These people are being scammed and think they're investors. It's the same as those who get sucked into MLMs and think they run their own business.

While I agree that we very much need to take care of domestic issues, it's more complicated than that. It's in the global best interest for us to help Ukraine steamroll Russia. We're getting a bargain that way, rather than becoming directly involved in a conflict.

The weirdest problem we're going to have is that AI could get really good at faking consciousness. It could merely be mimicking consciousness based on how it's learned consciousness should look like, but is really just regurgitating information.

So how do we tell the difference between "real" consciousness and mimicry?

In this case, it's because his official title is just way too long for a headline.

It's a podcast. Most people listen to it while doing other things and don't watch it in a single sitting.

If you don't want to watch it, then don't, but it really is a great podcast.

They're the baristas. Because at least they can make latte art while they scrounge for tips from the tip jar.

That's a pretty unlikely scenario though. Someone would be better off just selling your phone at that point.

Because how is a thief going to get a perfect video of you to play to the camera?

The steam deck is about half as powerful as the Series S. If you don't want mobile gaming, there's zero reason to buy the steam deck over the Series S.
