Found it. https://sci-hub.se/ Get link from JSTOR, then paste it into sci-hub. Startpage/Google/Bing/Yahoo weren't any help. Yandex came through.

I got it once on Chrome. Haven't used Chrome for YT since. No trouble with FF and UBlock Origin.

My car has a manual transmission. I learned to drive on a manual transmission. I prefer it. When I drive a car with automatic transmission, I step on its nonexistent clutch.

‘nerd shit’

On Star Trek? Imagine that! (I've been nerding over there, off and on, all day) 🤣

Incidentally, when I looked up that user earlier in the day, they account was 8 hours old.

Someone who identifies very closely with hustle & grind culture. Someone who claims a personal brand. Someone who kisses up and kicks down.

I freaken hate captchas. Goddam Google has put me through as many as a dozen before showing content. Audio captchas are faster, though. I get through on the first try with those.

It used to be that they didn't throw me out before I got to a program's page. Today, upon login, they redirected me to BBC's main page. Google tells me this: "In addition to the measures listed above, the BBC is also reportedly working on a new anti-VPN measure that uses machine learning to identify and block VPN traffic. This measure is still under development, but it has the potential to be more effective than the BBC's current anti-VPN measures."

I just rewatched that one, and I disagree. It was uncomfortable at first, b/c it seemed so hoakey. The crew repeatedly hurt themselves trying to cross the room. Then the point was to observe the child closely. Dax was the one who finally got it. It was a commentary on observation/cognitive bias.

For me, it echoed real life, when someone with power over you wants something you shouldn't have to and don't want to give. It was uncomfortable, and I'm glad they did it.

And it was IA's increased activity during the pandemic that spurred the current trouble. Brewster Kahle is a saint.

manifest v3

Because I'm not knowledgeable enough to make it work. I've managed to install it and figured out that I need to run the restartable version. Lots of text with screenshots or a video(s) would help. I'm not a digital native. This is one of many retirement projects. Listening to more music than I can afford to buy greatly improves the quality of my life.

Thanks! Freetube works great. Here are directions for importing YT subscriptions. https://docs.freetubeapp.io/usage/importing-subscriptions/

I just looked up fingerprinting. Yuck. Is there anything FOSS that defeats it?

I remember a convo here, recently, that ended with defederation not happening. You can block them from your feed. While they're officially not tankies, they do behave as if they were feral children.

Usually, under the box containing the visual captcha, there's a headphone icon. Click that.

Qbittorrent and LibreOffice

Thanks, everyone, for the info and education. I've just discovered and added Privacy Badger to FF. Tracking makes me feel slimed.

We know that people who have less tend to be more generous than people who have more.

Maybe comedy was the way they got it on air at that time. I seem to remember an article about the size of the bosom they gave Quark--much bigger than Moogie's. I also seem to remember the size of that bosom decreases during the episode.

I don't know whether I'm knowledgeable enough for Tailscale, but I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Edit isn't working, so here's a second one https://gfycat.com/coolveneratedfrillneckedlizard That is all.

Yandex is good. Sometimes Qwant.com and Metager.org will find things, too. When Google/Bing/Yahoo/Startpage, etc., don't find what you're looking for, just try search engines based in other countries. Russia/Yandex probably cares less about western DRM than Qwant/France and Metager/Germany. Incidentally, if you open a VK (aka Vkontakte, Russian Facebook) account, you can also open a mail.ru (part of VK) account. Don't forget to set the UI language to something you understand :)

In the 1984-sense, daily at work.

FF does PWs well.

You need to login to each of them, then you can have them open in multiple tabs, windows, or browsers.

❤️

That bites, and thank you.

🤣 I like that.

Yandex is working so nicely for me lately--even better than Firefox. I think any possible spying by Russian capitalists or government will have little to no effect on my life.

Amy's Foods until the strikers say otherwise. I support BDS always. No fast food, no fast fashion.

now trying to blame Ukraine

Blaming Russia was either stupid b/c putting the Nord Stream out of commission hurt Russia, or cynical b/c they thought we'd be stupid enough to buy that story. Blaming Ukraine has a basis in reality. https://www.reuters.com/world/us-had-intelligence-ukrainian-plan-attack-nord-stream-pipeline-washington-post-2023-06-06/ We may well have done it, as Biden promised, in concert with Ukraine or without them. https://www.wsj.com/video/video-biden-says-no-nord-stream-2-if-russia-invades-ukraine/B5942F2D-E4E5-4BD1-8CB3-8816A2ECAF19.html

Try adding YT enhancer. I've got UBlock Origin and that installed. IDK which one is still blocking ads, but they're still blocked.
