Nobody gets that much wealth without Psychopathy.

The US is at will, nobody gives 2 weeks for termination unless maybe it's a layoff. If a company has grounds to fire you they just fire you. Most will be smart enough to disable accounts before you're even out the door.

Murder. Firing a gun in a crowd is not manslaughter because you don't see exactly who you are killing. You know it's going to kill someone and that's the goal so it's murder.

The US is a shit hole and PR has no support from the mainland while also having to be an island in hurricane Alley. It's not worth it. Worth the hassle to move some place with better labor protections and healthcare. Puerto Rico is beautiful but it's all the worst parts of the US with very little benefit.

Yes, both are cults.

Considering Trump almost got his head blown off because they let a guy sit on a roof with a rifle at a political rally for 5 minutes... that's not a stretch.

While I agree that many are too eager to put anything even tangentially related to tech in this community, this belongs. This is a piece of technology that is wildly relevant to this community and to a politics community. Sometimes they are inextricable. More and more these days whether we like it or not.

Sorry Zek, when technology affects people's lives it's technology news. Especially when affects who lives and dies. Making tech treat people equally is only political if someone makes it that way.

My question is, "do people not dry off in the shower before getting out?"

Lots have motion sensors you install so when you walk in the room it starts.

Why are you donating things you expect to be thrown out? You're just costing a charitable organization money. But fuck the salvation army.

Better wages and work life balance would also solve the pilot shortage. It's one of those jobs where companies over rely on people's passion for the profession in lieu of treating and paying them what they deserve.

First things first, treatment is way way better than when your grandmother was diagnosed. We have lots of off label meds and even now have an on label lupus medication. I was diagnosed at just before my 22nd birthday, I'm 38 now and I'm doing great. You can get through this. It gets better.

One thing you are going to have to learn is your new limits. Chances are you've already experienced what it's like to exceed them, but now you know why. Stay out of the sun, take vitamin D, when your body demands rest, listen. Get a consistent sleep schedule and stick to it. If you are not already off alcohol it's worth considering but not necessary (depending on your meds.) Cannabis is also worth considering, but again between you and your doctor(s).

Listen to your doctor(s). Make sure you keep up with your Rheumatologist and your GP. You may have to add in an opthalmologist depending on your meds as well (don't worry about that, eye complications are rare). It may take time to find the medications that work for you, be patient. It's probably not going to be just one medication, most people do best on combinations. Be sure to get off Prednisone as soon as you can tolerate, it's only meant to be temporary and it can have long lasting effects. Find a local support group, the lupus society has them all over. https://www.lupus.org/

Feel free to DM me or add me as a friend. This isn't the end of your life, but it is the start of a big change.

This is all less medical advice than it is lessons I learned the hard way.

Except an employer, they don't want to be that.

Delete buttons are just a placebo on the Internet anway. At least activitypub is honest about that.

Yes, this is well established in the comics and animated series. It's actually one way Spider-Man proves Mysterio is impersonating him. The fake Spider-Man's webs don't dissolve on their own.

Maybe we should reform our prison system so this kind of thing doesn't happen.

DO NOT leave a lithium battery both charging and discharging indefinitely in your daughter's room. The suggestion below of a small UPS device intended for routers and they like is the way to go.

But but, building a real third party from the ground up in local elections and/or changing our voting system from first past the post takes a lot of time and real effort. That's a lot of hard work. It's a lot harder than just showing up to one election every 4 years and casting a vote that makes you feel like you're special and smarter than everyone else.

Not really. It's just a normal Zen 4 CPU with some server features like ECC memory support.

The biggest downfall of these chips is they have the same 28 PCI-E lanes as any consumer grade Zen 4 CPU. Quite the difference between that and the cheapest EPYC CPUs outside the 4000 series.

You're going to run in to some serious I/O shortages if trying to fit a 10gbe card, an HBA card for storage, and a graphics card or two and some NVME drives.
