Bed bugs.

Positive outcome would be no more having to burn contaminted possessions (or wash them in very hot water many times).

Gerrymandering.

On one hand, I think it could be possible that Meta is planning to federate with the fediverse with the ultimate goal of destroying it and replacing it with their own instances. Similar to what Google did with XMPP according to this article. https://ploum.net/2023-06-23-how-to-kill-decentralised-networks.html

On the other hand, I also think it could be possible Meta is wanting to federate with the fediverse just so it can increase it's data collection many times quicker. Why manage servers when you can connect to other servers and suck up data as and when Threads users interact with other lemmy instances.

No idea which is more likely.

I would be nice if the game detects that it's been quite some time since I last played, and give a quick refresher of the keybinds as well as brief rundown of recent missions completed / story-so-far.

Exactly. I still cannot fathom why a company which prides itself on sustainability ditch the headphone jack. Granted, I don't use the one on my phone often, but I'm very glad that it's there when I need it.

If this post gets 666 upvotes hell will definitely break loose lol

Tipping is like paying for DLC / microtransactionw but not getting anything out of it.

Yeah... NAH!

If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it's not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever.

I'm about to suggest another app for you to install. :p

If you're using an android phone (I don't know if it exist on iOS) install the DuckDuckGo app. It has a feature called "App Tracking Protection". It is supposed to block all trackers. I think it works as one of the games i have installed on my phone takes about a minute longer to load, compared to without the tracking protection. I think this is the next best course of action (apart from not installing / using the required apps).

Origin "We create worlds". They definitely did with the Wing Commander series. Played a lot of WC 3, 4 as well as Privateer.

I don't think anyone mentioned Lionhead Studios. Black and White was fun. Sadly it's in copyright limbo if I'm not mistaken.

Also played a lot of Civilization 1 from Microprose back in the day.

I upgraded from a Pebble Time to a Garmin Vivoactive 4. Quite a bit more expensive but I'm really liking it.

I'm just sad that Garmin is slowly replacing their Memory-in-pixel display in favor of AMOLED screens. MIP displays seemed to me to be the next best thing to e-ink type displays - always on with minimal battery drain.

I'll just need to keep my watch for as long as I can.

Using Connect. Pretty happy with it so far. Feels smooth and snappy. Best of all, it doesn't collect any personal data.

I too would like a smallerphone as well. Bringing back the 3.5mm jack would be a bonus, but a smaller phone is higher on my priority list. Even better if it's the same size as my old Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact.

Wing Commander series.

We need a Command & Conquer Remastered style treatment.

Bought a cheap AU$40 pair of generic hiking poles. Use it for the entire Camino de Santiago. Friend borrowed for her Camino walk as well. I later used it for the first half of the Coast to Coasthike in UK. Earlier this year i used it for my Kumano Kodo hike. Still going strong.

Another phablet sized phone. It'll be a pass for me.

I want an updated Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact with all the modern internal bits. Modern processor, sufficient RAM and good enough camera. Doesn't have to be the best, just good enough to keep upwith the times.

More importantly I want the height and width to remain the same; thickness can be increased if required.

Also keep the 3.5mm jack, camera shutter button, notification LED and the sim + micro-sd tray. Dual sim would be a bonus.

Detailed options so I mute background chatter or silence selected NPCs.

Subtitles for conversations not in my native language.

My Asus Zenfone 8 has a 3.5mm audio jack. I believe the Zenfone 9 & 10 do as well. No removable battery or memory card slot but should be dual sim. My Zenfone 8 even has FM radio LOL.

Hopefully in the years to come they'll slowly reduce the size of the phone. 162mm tall is just too big for comfortable single hand usage.

Or .. adult mode 😜

I also hate apps which request for unnecessary permissions. I have a dashcam which has an app to view the recorded videos. The app requires bluetooth as well as gps location info. Bluetooth is understandable but I don't see the need for GPS. Unfortunately for me I can't seem to get mock locations working properly on my phone. It also refuses to work if i do not give it location permission. :(

I don't really care as long as it's there. If I have to choose a spot, I think somewhere beside the usb-c port should be good.

Was trying to get corectrl configured and I was blindly copying text to paste into config files.

Next thing I know, I can't get my system to boot up again. 🤣

Time to reinstall. Again. 😅

OMG. I recall playing a Tarminator game in the 90s but was too young to care about the developer. TIL that it was made by Bethesda.

Early 40s from Australia. I can drive a manual, but my present car is automatic. My motorcycle is manual though. :p

Only 1 way to find out...

I find for me it is half about the usability of thw phone one handed and the other half being pocketability. I don't want to have to carry a man-purse just to be able to have my phone with me at all times. Front pocket of jeans is where i keep my phone and the pockets are not deep enough to contain the phone without pressing into my hips when i sit. Keeping the phone in the back pocket is just inviting theft.

I just want another Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact with updated specifications.

I just want Sony to make another XZ1 Compact but with updated internals. Keep the screen size, camera shutter button, 3.5mm plug and make it thicker to squeeze in either wireless charging or a slightly bigger battery.

I use the Hermit app to "make" mini-apps of websites I frequently visit. They can also be sandboxed too.

Daily drove wayland back in November when I finally built my new desktop and installed Nobara. It's the default and it juat worked out of the box. Have always been a windows user until now.

Games workost of the time. Good enough for me. Full team Red build inside the case.

Found the millenial :p /jk

It's essentially a player which ignores the region locks on bluray discs.
