You can bind qbittorrent to the vpn network interface. If it's not there, no traffic. That's my approach.

totally would

The bot consumes the atom feed of a repository, but I don't use a feed reader. you could also just let Github notify you for new releases. But I don't pay much attention to github notifications either. I'm a lot more likely to notice something like that if it's integrated into my social media consumption.

I absolutely do, not necessarily on the pirating tools I use , though.

Ditch the www prefix

Funkwhale is very nice as well, but it's not as easy to administrate - I have been running an older version for quite some time and didn't succeed in updating to a newer version. Also, it supports some features (like federation) that I don't need. So Navidrome is just a better fit for me...

you could look into other ways of pirating, that don't necessarily require a vpn, instead. in may country it's mainly problematic to use torrents, because you automatically are sharing stuff as well. IRC is something that I never had a problem with, for example. you're only downloading and it doesn't cost you anything. there are xdcc search engines out there. The downsides are that it's a bit nerdy (is it a downside. though?) and you'll mostly find current mainstream content.

what's the technical basis for this anyway? is it safe to use without a vpn (ie. is it using p2p connections). didn't find something immediately in the docs, maybe someone can shed some light?

you mean without a dynamic hostname in between? but then you would still need to know about a changed prefix, wouldn't you?

Normally yes. Normal means you're using an IPv4 connection. Should you have an IPv6 connection, each device get's its own ip. But i guess you would know if you set that up. Your router could tell you more...

Look in the network settings, you should see the option there. I'm not on my notebook right now, so I can't tell exactly, sorry...

I have my music organized by artist and (mostly) album subfolders. My music is also tagged and that's what really matters most to me in terms of Navidrome.

Did you know about !navidrome@discuss.tchncs.de , btw?

yes thank you!

that's a good idea. i have some of my configurations under version control, but mostly on codeberg. not sure how renovate integrates there...

Is PIA still supporting Gab? They are burnt for me since they actively advertised them as affiliates...

i like fruit, so I have kiwi, mango, ...

I assume you have a dynamic ip. what I did for that scenario: setup a dyndns hostname somewhere, configure a subdomain (e.g. jellyfin.example.com) with a cname dns record pointing to the dyndns hostname. you will have to setup updating of the dyndns hostname, this can be done in the fritz box and port forwarding to your jellyfin pc.

It's a fascist social network

Amazing, thanks for your work!
