I especially love the "other data"... What the hell else is there?!

if you’re going to have policies that discriminate against one group of people, then own it, post it publicly,

...McCray said somehow without even a hint of irony.

I won't rehash my opinions, they already been better said here, but I want to add I hate the phrase "close the border". What the fuck does that mean, was it open, did the last one in forget to close the door?

From the article, he is considering taking action "to restrict migrants’ ability to seek asylum at the US-Mexico border if they crossed illegally" which has a lot more nuance and is important to the discussion. So this will specifically affect people who have a legitimate claim to asylum, the border was never "open" to any migrants without it (or a visa).

Ok, I tilted my phone and shoved it up my butt... now what? I never get these memes, I must be getting old.

Ok, I had to know, so:

  1. It's real
  2. Sold only in Czech Republic around Christmas time, though currently unavailable
  3. Apparently fried Carp is a traditional Christmas eve dish in CR
  4. Because of the Christ feeding 5000 with fish and bread bible story.

I still have questions, but at least I'll be able to sleep tonight.

No. 1: I didn’t read it — and I won’t. No. 2: All you got to do is look at the author. The author is from Communist China. What more do you need to know?

(emphasis mine)

What a gigantic, ignorant, piece of shit.

Ah yes, because derivative reality shows and bottom-of-the-barrel adult cartoons are so expensive to produce.

What the hell happened, you used to be good.

Just cancelled, haven't touched NF since I subbed to HBO (and even that is getting cancelled next month). Maybe its time to try Hulu.

I asked Bard to give me a generic reason for firing a CEO.

Certainly, here are some vague reasons for firing the CEO of an AI company:
Leadership concerns: The CEO's leadership style or personal conduct was not in line with the company's values or culture. This could include issues such as lack of transparency, poor communication, or ethical breaches.

Yup.

CEO of public company actively makes product worse because of business dealings at a seperate private company owned by said CEO. Not that Tesla shareholders don't already have enough reason to be pissed, but good lord.

And it's not a "feud" that would imply Disney is being petty instead of making the fucking obvious business decision to pull advertising spend from the dumpster fire of racism and controversy that is Twitter.

So out of curiosity, what does he say should happen to people who defraud banks and other investors by falsifying documents and ledgers?

Fun fact from Wikipedia:
Ileana Garcia won in 2020 against incumbent José Javier Rodriguez by a margin of 34 votes.

Alex Rodriguez "ran" in the same race as a third party candidate, and despite not campaigning, recieved over six thousand votes. Likely because he shared the same last name as the Dem. Former Republican State Senator Frank Artiles has been arrested for bribing Alex to run and Alex will be testifying against him as part of his plea deal.

No wonder she has a soft spot for criminals.

It gets worse. Visiting a friend recently, they tried to give me an old Kindle, (which I politely declined). They have a drawer of about 6 old ones because they can't help buying the latest every sale. They don't even read that much!!

Wife and I have since established the crotch blanket (tm). It's really just a flat sheet, but we each have our own and take them even when we travel. Keeps your legs and bits from sticking in the heat, and crumpled correctly it supports your knees while you sleep.

Not that weird as an idea, but wish we would have settled on something better than "crotch blanket".

I sometimes lucid dream, something tips me off that it's not real, and then I can take some control. Mostly I like flying, but sometimes I go full crimefighting superhero.

Realizing you are in a dream world and deciding to work, is like winning a billion dollars and deciding to spend it all on a nice car somehow. What a boring waste.

Honestly, that sounds amazing, and illustrates why, "can you explain this gap on your resume" is such a bull shit interview question.

I'm not one to defend Singapore much, but owning a car there is a very unnecessary luxury, so this is a pretty unfair reason to dislike Singapore (I can give you some better ones if you'd like).

Honestly in other big cities (NYC, London) most people would benefit from a COE scheme keeping car traffic under control.

This news follows McCarthy’s statement that he won’t give Dems anything to save his Speakership.

Ah yes, the power play of showing up to the negotiation, slamming the door, and walking away. Bold move, let's see how it plays out.

The challenge is not knowing he's lying, its sorting out the mix of:
-Lies he knows are lies
-Things he thinks are true, but are very false
-Things he thinks are lies, but are accidentally true

Narrator: He didn't.
