SAP

They were transitioning from Oracle SBMS which was bad enough already but SAP... that thing was a nightmare taking dedicated employees (which we didn't have) to account for the additional time needed to enter and manage data

Fortunately I was able to get out before the full switch over; friends that still work there occasionally message to inform how horrible the place has become

We tested some nicer ones for use in an industrial environment where hearing protection was required. They were great and let workers hear clearly while still being able to use their preferred PPE.

Minetest! FOSS client and server 👍

+1 for Minetest

I run a server on our local network that kiddos love

It was fairly simple to setup including which game type and mods

My board game prototypes! Can always use more playtesters :)

Finally made it over to the in-laws to replace a ceiling fan that had stopped working

I'm a certified forklift trainer and the training I needed for that was a single day that ended in a simple test...

ProtonVPN works great via Wiregurd on Linux as well just not through the GUI; you can download the configs and connect through terminal or other Wireguard client

Glucose monitor

Numbers are much better than early 2023 so am hopeful

Shortly after turning 18 I was offered a commission job selling Kirby vacuum cleaners with a fairly large guaranteed weekly pay. I product was high quality and the people interviewing were calm, well mannered and assured that we would absolutely not be using any pressure tactics for the sales.

Day 1 we're taught about how to demo the machine and get to tag along for a couple scheduled sales

Day 2 we're taught how to pressure entry into a home for door to door sales demos...

Day 7-ish a friend of the boss joins the group who is super high pressure and boss gets excited to immediately move that direction

After 2 weeks it was clear that this was exactly the opposite of what I'd signed up for (including the lack of guaranteed pay) so I left in search of something better.

Steel tea pot - I drink a pot every day but last couple pots were both glass and only last a couple months before breaking (both my fault) so upgraded to steel and so far my clumsiness hasn't yet managed to break it

I work at a computer and find it easier to continue using a screen for reading

However I do also purchase some paper books for when wanting to disconnect for a while

The ones we tested were these: https://a.co/d/f4FADbm

Unfortunately the project they were originally for was cancelled fairly quickly so we didn't test any others

Kiddos love Minetest; we've changed out mods a few times now to experience new combinations including some minor customizations to tweak difficulty a bit

Thank you; looks like it turned out pretty good!

Which genre?

The Beach Boys - Kokomo

Yep! I have a Cosori kettle that's been working great (and outlasted my first two pots lol)

I was!

Perhaps Valheim - the archery is pretty good and while not as twitchy as a shooter might suffice to scratch that itch

Sounds cool; pictures please!

Family loves Kingdomino; yours turned out great!

Kiddos have gotten back into the Pokemon card game so we're likely playing Pokemon TCG Live

Also hoping to finally break in the Nexalis ttrpg I've had on the shelf for a while now with the teens

I drink a pot of camomile every day. 1st cup is still hot while rest is more lukewarm.

Started playing FFXIV again after not playing since 2013. Decided to delete my character and start fresh as I don't remember the story etc. and am just going to take my time enjoying everything over again.

I can do this as well and find it useful for other devices that use a lot of button presses such as TV volume etc

LTE modem averaging 20/10

Oh nice, didn't realize that one was on Switch; thank you

Awesome; thank you!

Unfortunately Fortnite is not currently playable on Linux

Cool, thank you

Looks like Dauntless uses EAC which can be tricky to get working however I see Minecraft Dungeons looks to be working great; thank you

Has anyone tried Path of Titans ?
