Let's see what new excuse the US and Europe come up with to justify this while condemning the same acts by Russia.

90's monster

You probably meant 90's mobster, but both fit I guess.

The UNODC said the Taliban crackdown on the poppy industry could have a negative impact on many Afghans' livelihoods and warned of "humanitarian consequences for many vulnerable rural communities.

So to stop growing drugs is a bad thing now?

Unclear what to do with pitchfork:

Video and other surveillance data gathered by Cruise and reviewed by The Standard showed three Cruise vehicles were present at the scene. Two left the scene but one remained stopped as an ambulance arrived behind it. Cars continued to pass in the lane to the right of the stopped Cruise car.

"Throughout the entire duration the AV is stopped, traffic remains unblocked and flowing to the right of the AV," a Cruise spokesperson said in a statement. "The ambulance behind the AV had a clear path to pass the AV as other vehicles, including another ambulance, proceeded to do."

The video captured by Cruise showed that the ambulance parked behind the Cruise and did not attempt to pass the robotaxi in the rightmost unblocked lane. Instead, responders moved a firetruck to allow the ambulance to pass on the left. The video, which Cruise declined to share publicly, indicates that 90 seconds elapsed between the patient being put on the stretcher and the ambulance leaving the scene.

On example cited by Apple is Safari's sidebar feature on iPadOS and macOS, allowing users to see opened tabs, tab groups, bookmarks, and browsing history. Since this feature is unavailable in the version of Safari for iOS, Apple claimed that it is a distinctly different browser.

PSA - this article is over 4 years old. Sep 28 2019

github giveth, and github can (and does)

To be fair, this is a feature not a bug. The original creator is the one who taketh away.

If they'd done this right out of the gate, nobody would have thought that is unreasonable.

More realistically, a lot of Devs would've never have chosen it, thereby not having it to become as popular as it is today. Something else would've taken its place, simple.

Thanks for your opinion, ChatGPT.

This may actually sink Desantas as a presidential candidate.

Nah, they'll just spin the blame on "greedy migrants", and you know people will buy that

A few humans imitating other humans is not even comparable to the scale that computers imitating humans can reach though.

Esper Foundation is based on Android 11 and has customizable branding, peripheral compatibility, quarterly security patches, and three years of support.

3 years worth of support on an OS that's already 3 years outdated. Meanwhile my PC from 2010 running Windows 10 still gets updates and can easily be updated/serviced with off the shelf parts to keep it going. I guess I'll pass on this one.

Lemmy actually feels like a viable alternative now with apps like Sync upping the experience. Seems like Reddit literally shot itself in the foot by kicking 3rd party apps to competition.

Even countries which accept that civilians will be killed by bombing aren't going to support deliberate murder.

Lol.

I'm confused - the article does not mention anything about the attacker being an immigrant or from any certain origin/group. What's the riot for then?

I see you're suggesting that she shouldn't be surprised that the fucked up culture in the fashion industry is fucked up since everyone knows it's fucked up. But what everyone else is trying to tell you is that we should still talk about how fucked up this is, because it's fucked up.

Yeah, and what is anyone going to do about it? Nothing.

I've seen enough Doomsday Peppers to know that these "prepared" right wingers will be gasping for breath on the floor when it actually comes time to run and do something physically strenuous. Fat fucks couldn't even breath through a thin mask, their brain cells are the only thing they'll slaughter due to lack of oxygen.

Save an image - it's either in Downloads or inside some folder in DCIM or Pictures or some random folder in root - or if you're super lucky - inside some random folder in the app's data directory.

These accounts were initially locked for security reasons after signs of compromise, and we’re working to make contact with the account owners to ensure they have access

Why not make it read-only until they make contact with the owners. Seems like an awfully convinient excuse otherwise.

People don’t store credentials in browsers

Yes they do - every browser asks users if they want to remember the password they just entered. Many people say yes, I do too for most cases - it is very convinient.

"Police called to yoga class mistaken for mass killing.* - this really doesn't suggest that the police killed anyone, just that they were called to a Yoga class which someone thought was a mass killing scene. Your suggestion, in fact, sounds weird.

Kids that age certainly know how to use a lot of apps, but only in the walled gardens these apps allow them. It's going to be generations of kids only exposed to very curated experiences that companies what them to know.

Which non-executive mundane job worker is paying a wealth tax?

If you paid for it on Play Store and the app gets pulled from there, you won't be able to download it again.

Sure, you're not wrong. But a ton of genuine users are simply checking out what this Lemmy thing is at this stage, and asking them to elaborate why they want to be here, even if in a few lines, is going to turn them away. Instances should be allowed to enforce this if they want, I just think there should be a way for users to quickly find a less restrictive instance. This is what turned me away from Lemmy in my early attempt to use it - I just wanted to check it out on whim and was told there's a manual approval.

I don't even agree that this is a good way to keep out bad bots. We already have farms where you just hire someone in a country with cheap labor to just create accounts all day.

Fuck no. I ain't paying a transaction fee each time I want to take a breath. If you don't want to be robbed by streaming companies, blockchain is the last (or maybe not even a) thing you should consider as a solution.
