Why not a combination of both? Seems most realistic.

There's always lots of jokes about what a shame it is we don't have the flying cars people dreamed about in the past but if you ask me things like this not being more ubiquitous is the real shame! This is incredible and I hope we see more in this space soon.
You perfectly describe how it felt on Reddit to comment and what turned me into a lurker after the years went by. Doing my best to be more active on Lemmy to help get this thing growing!
Generally curious how many people that have clung to Windows largely due to gaming have made the switch or plan to make the switch now that Valve has done such great work with Proton. I know I am certainly considering it and this is the kind of thing that will expedite that.
Whether it's Reddit or the average workplace institutional knowledge is so commonly looked over that I truly (like) to believe that sometime in the next years society will realize how important it is and shift to caring way more about it.
That and more! There's even a community called "Enough Musk Spam" that ironically enough only posts Musk spam.
I hope to see a bigger push across all tech for this. We can't possibly do better in the fight to improve the climate if we keep using gadgets that have to be replaced every two years.
Vampire Survivors on the steam deck.
Smelling C-diff for the first time is something.
You can always tell a disingenuous response with the both sides bullshit.
They pump it out because it's what the people at the top of the societal pyramid want. And those are the top are really the ones with all that commercial real estate that's wasting away.
I long for the day when they are just normal everywhere. Easily one of the best things to come out of the pandemic and those wild toilet paper shortages.
Yeah but then I pick it up from the nearby Best Buy so no more of that.
I think some people don't even realize PhD and MD are different things.
I switch between swiping and typing. It works pretty well most of the time.
Same energy as the way North Korea worships their dear leader.
They have a primary candidate by the name of Vivek Ramaswamy who wants to do just that, raise the voting age.
Definitely. I don't plan on downloading the official Reddit app anytime soon and for years I have been more of a lurker on Reddit but I am trying to break that and participate more on Lemmy. Really enjoying it so far.
At least I bought a pool ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Official dock works great for me.
Agreed. Bluetooth wasn't great at first but has been fine for years now.
Millennial here and I have a few family members that rely on SSDI so I just like that my contributions support them. I'll figure things out myself for retirement. But an estimated 7.8 million people rely on SSDI and taking that away from them could very well be death sentences. We have to do better.
It's not exactly that I'm buying into it disappearing is a foregone conclusion - just that if something doesn't happen to proactively protect and improve the system, than yeah, it's in big trouble in the next decade. And my personal bias puts my main concern on the people who rely on it for disability insurance since they are some of the most vulnerable. Of course I want what I paid into it myself later in life, but at least I can see it helping those close to me for some consolation if it doesn't.
It's a good idea to check in on this every so often just to make sure your employers are paying their contributions too. I recall some horror stories when this this been posted before.
Agreed. I even have found myself thinking over years that some people in my life would have been better off if they had found religion, though I am not myself religious.
That's an interesting perspective that I really hadn't thought about much but you're totally right. Glad I was always more of a lurker there.
Reddit is Fun.
Oh no don't get that misconstrued many really do believe in the good guy with a gun fantasy and that one day they will have to use it to defend themselves or their family from certain doom.
I stayed off of Reddit near totally the first month or so and have been visiting it more again lately and there is a definite drop off in quality all over the place.
No, I got the 512 and it's been enough for me just rotating as needs. I have played around with the SD card but don't usually play anything off of it.
We can certainly dream though!
That is amazing. Of course straight to the pearl clutching from Fox.
As nice as it would be to have it on steam there is just no incentive to rebuy it. It doesn't even take much extra work to get the battle net version running on a steam deck.
Surprising to see any suggestions on here for YouTube Premium. I have been lucky enough to be on a family plan for years and it's honestly great. Sometimes, it's just easier not to deal with having to hack around things to make them usable.
I think the guide I had originally followed was actually for World of Warcraft so I don't see why you wouldnt be able to apply that to Diablo 3 - but the issue with D3 on the deck would ultimately probably be that the PC version of the game has no official controller support.
Are there any special considerations for screen protectors if you have the 512 with the built in anti glare?
At least they don't even try to hide how much they are in bed with Russia anymore.
