Yeah, I don't think lemmy is ready for very casual users like that yet at least, I've been here for 3 years on different accounts, and the difference in the last month or so has been staggering :)
I think that's a user influx problem, we've had it multiple times over at mastodon as well, usually it dies down again after a couple of weeks, and we can just concentrate on other things instead, at least until a new wave of users arrive :)
Thunder or liftoff have been the most similar ones from the ones I have tested as well.
Most notable is that there are way more people discussing, there are tons of more content, more instances, so basically just more, there are still things that are missing like really niche stuff that I really used to enjoy over on reddit, like r/shorthand, and r/sudoku and so on, but we'll have to se :) Maybe we will grow to a size where that is possible.
I didn't think it would make much of a difference before I tried it, but it's so nice to use, I really enjoy it :)
I really like Logic Wiz sudoku variants Basically sudoku variant puzzles, it's a lot of fun, and has really good puzzles.
I think it has something to do with them not long ago having been slapped with huge punishment for some other shit they have been doing in the EU
